KARAOKE DANCE PARTY!!! [OPEN, COME GRAB FREE CR!]

Everyone had been so nice to Ryo since he had awoken a day prior. He wanted to show his appreciation to his friends and the crew, and get a chance to meet others. So, he walked back into the sensoriums and imagined a place. As he opened his eyes, there was the Milk Dipper. Wood finish, stars decorating the place, rough hewn wooden tables and the telescope in it's pedestal at the center. Everything was as it should be, except for one thing. Behind the counter, looking very confused, was a green-skinned demon who bore no resemblance to Airi. Ryo registered his shock as the demon spoke.

"This... is NOT my bar..." The green one said, his own shock evident. He looked at Ryo. "And you're not Peter..." Ryo, not knowing what to do, bowed quickly.

"I'm sorry, Oni-san, I just wanted to throw a party for everyone, with karaoke and dancing, and I didn't mean to summon you!" The demon shook his head, waving Ryo off.

"It's Lorne, and you had me at karaoke. Now, this place.... I like it. Kind of a kitsch-meets-class thing going on... It does need to be bigger, though..." Lorne snapped his fingers and the cafe expanded, now as large as an auditorium. The telescope pedestal sat firmly in the center of a well-polished dance floor, underneath a disco ball and lighting set up. To the left of the counter was a stage with a karoake set-up, and behind the counter was now a lot more than just coffee. Otherwise, the decor remained the same.

"Alright, Ryo-kun." Lorne said with a smile. "Give everyone the heads up and get this party started." Ryo nodded, amazed by the demon's abilities, and gave a call on the omnicomms.

[[ OOC: It's karaoke dance party time! Start a sub-thread with your character singing a song, socializing, or just being a wallflower, and let the CR flow! Especially great for newbies to meet folk and influence people!]]

Kang knew that one of the best ways to tell how good a party was the next day was how miserable you felt. "I did say I was going to tell you more before, didn't I? I was the commander of an engineering regiment. We were skilled at building trebuchets, catapults, and the like, and fortifications. We were best at bridges, though."

"That you did," Kaylee assured him. No way was she going to deny him telling her some at that moment, either, even if she might not remember it later on. "Engineerin's good, in any form of it." She seemed pleased by this knowledge. "No engines, I take it?"

Kang shook his head, "No engines. The gnomes had a few things with something like engines, but... they were more likely to explode on you than actually work. Same holds true for pretty much any gnomish invention." He grimaced. No one on Krynn trusted a gnomish invention.

Sounded like gnomes were probably behind the design of the Capissen 38. "They just trouble makers, or no good for tech?"
governorkang: (Having fun)

"Some stories say it's a curse. They used to be humans, but they grew too proud of the skills the god Reorx taught them, and he turned them into gnomes. Nothing they make ever turns out right," Kang shrugged. "I don't know if it is a curse or not, but I try to avoid getting too close to anything they've made. Don't really feel like dying."

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-02-15 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Overconfident. Kaylee had been there, and it had almost cost the entire crew their lives. It wasn't a good place to be. "Might just not test things, too." She didn't even want to think of the possibility that the gnomes might have done it on purpose.

Kang laughed, "Oh, no. They test things. It's more... the few things they make that work, always end up doing something else. There was a village of 'em near Teyr, but they're farmers, not inventors."

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
"So they're tricksters." Didn't surprise her, really. Made her wonder if the folks who made up the Capissen 38 were gnomes. "Guess there're some in every lot."

[personal profile] governorkang 2010-02-17 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Never on purpose," Kang shrugged. "Some of the best weapons they ever made were meant to be something else. None of them compare to anything here, though."

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Just...clumsy with what they're doin', then." It was hard to really figure it out, especially since her brain was running a bit sluggish, but there it was. Kaylee took another drink, and leaned over on the table. "Stacy's perdy impressive, ain't she?"
governorkang: (Neutral)

[personal profile] governorkang 2010-02-17 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
Kaylee was definitely a little tipsy. Kang chuckled, gently poking her in the side with a claw. "Don't drink too much, or you'll need someone to carry you back to your room." Nodding, he finished off his own drink, the tip of his tail unconsciously tapping on the ground with the current song, "She definitely is. I wish my time here could have been voluntary, though."

The mechanic laughed and swayed back. "Don't, 'M ticklish." She grinned, though, and leaned closer almost as quickly as she had moved away. "That an offer? Be a good excuse to get ya to forgettin' 'bout bein' here on accident."

...

What in the Abyss was with the females on this bloody ship? Hopefully that was just the alcohol talking. "...no, it's not. You need to stop drinking, Kaylee."

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
...he thought.

Kaylee near fell off her chair laughing. "No, 'M fine. I mean I could give you a tour of Serenity some. Bein' on her you forget all 'bout Stacy..."

Her nose wrinkled. "No offense, but ya ain't my type, Kang," she added, full of teasing.
governorkang: (Sulking / Mopey)

[personal profile] governorkang 2010-02-17 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. Thank the lost gods. Kang's wings rustled, and he ducked his head, "Oh. You didn't exactly word that very well. No offense taken at all."

He blinked, head tilting to one side slightly, "Serenity?"

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Mmhm!" And she downed the last of the contents of her bottle, put her arms up on the table, and rested her chin on top.

"Serenity's my ship. Nicest ship y'ever saw in your whole life."
governorkang: (This is fun / Go fish!)

[personal profile] governorkang 2010-02-17 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
"I would like to go see it," Kang smiled. "And that reminds me, a piece of my home is here, too. I should show it to you sometime."

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'd be more'n happy to show you 'round, then!" Kaylee slid out of her chair, a little more tipsily than she had originally thought herself, and held the table for extra balance. "And I'd be honored if you'd share your history with me, too."
governorkang: (Having fun)

[personal profile] governorkang 2010-02-17 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"Careful," Kang cautioned, standing up and offering his arm for her to hold onto. "It can wait until tomorrow, if you want. You have had quite a bit to drink."

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
"Naw, naw, 'M shiny." And just to prove it, she took a few wobbly steps forward, without the support of the table. "See? Barely even hittin' me."
governorkang: (Default)

[personal profile] governorkang 2010-02-17 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Kang watched her carefully, an amused look on his face, "Alright, then. Hang on to my arm just in case, at least?"

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
"Alright, alright," she giggled, and found Kang's forearm with her hand. "Set to go, then!"
