KARAOKE DANCE PARTY!!! [OPEN, COME GRAB FREE CR!]
Everyone had been so nice to Ryo since he had awoken a day prior. He wanted to show his appreciation to his friends and the crew, and get a chance to meet others. So, he walked back into the sensoriums and imagined a place. As he opened his eyes, there was the Milk Dipper. Wood finish, stars decorating the place, rough hewn wooden tables and the telescope in it's pedestal at the center. Everything was as it should be, except for one thing. Behind the counter, looking very confused, was a green-skinned demon who bore no resemblance to Airi. Ryo registered his shock as the demon spoke.
"This... is NOT my bar..." The green one said, his own shock evident. He looked at Ryo. "And you're not Peter..." Ryo, not knowing what to do, bowed quickly.
"I'm sorry, Oni-san, I just wanted to throw a party for everyone, with karaoke and dancing, and I didn't mean to summon you!" The demon shook his head, waving Ryo off.
"It's Lorne, and you had me at karaoke. Now, this place.... I like it. Kind of a kitsch-meets-class thing going on... It does need to be bigger, though..." Lorne snapped his fingers and the cafe expanded, now as large as an auditorium. The telescope pedestal sat firmly in the center of a well-polished dance floor, underneath a disco ball and lighting set up. To the left of the counter was a stage with a karoake set-up, and behind the counter was now a lot more than just coffee. Otherwise, the decor remained the same.
"Alright, Ryo-kun." Lorne said with a smile. "Give everyone the heads up and get this party started." Ryo nodded, amazed by the demon's abilities, and gave a call on the omnicomms.

Oh. The Human's hand so close to the spot, Renne can't fail to 'feel' it. Cold so near to a hot little stone. Backing up a little, quite afraid of darkening the halls of Billy's own 'self' with a past shadow, the oddity's expression takes on a somewhat serious note.
"Heartless" in a lot of ways, literally applies.
"This...per-mits Life. With-out, One not exist."
A breath. He commands his temperature under strict moderation. It's likely not needed in this place/time/existence but he does so anyway, understanding at least a little about Human anatomy regarding intense heat.
With the temperature cooled down, the creature then nods, permitting a memory to play out.
-The Before-Time. When, once, he could make himself appear at least humanoid in appearance. He stood a respectable six feet and a single heart nearly ready to grow/split into its one-and-three final stage thundered inside him. He had just gone through the Time-of-Change, a process akin to death-and-rebirth.
The problem?
The seven foot tall demon standing enraged in front of him -- a former commander, furious that not only had this six-foot upstart unwittingly broken a law, he dared hold onto the NightRunner name.
"Rise from the dead, eh? Let's see you come back from this!"
A taloned hand thrust forward. In seconds, where a breastbone and the front section of a latticed ribcage resided, an empty hole replaced it.
The fledgling heart and bone lay in a talon-ended hand.-
The memory concludes abruptly, sparing the Human any seriously gory details -- no one really needs to see all that.
Without words, the stone sort of 'explains' itself as the oddity offers a smile. Strong emotions cause its glow to flare up. Strong enough and it's akin to a heart skipping a beat.

Then, the memory plays and nothing can prepare him for the shock. Of watching his dear friend and new bondmate have his heart savagely ripped out. A powerful anger overtakes him then, tinged with sorrow and fear for Renne. If only he could have morphed and taught that demon a thing or two.
Renne's smile calms his emotions slightly, at least. "I see now. I'm so sorry," he offers, feeling guilty for makiing Renne relive that memory.
"Um...is there anything else about me that you want to see?"
no subject
While it isn't said, the concept rings loud and clear -- it's an old memory and the demon had in turn, ended up paying a price of his own.
"One sur-vive. Bee, not need for-give."
There's neither guilt nor resentment here. Old memories have long since mellowed out. Blushing a little, the creature answers.
"On-ly what Bee wish, tell."
no subject
"Then I'll share one more thing with you." Something that feels like Stacy filters into their experience, and Billy's more recent memories start to guide through. Waking up in the slime, cold and alone. Meeting his newer friends. Long days in Engineering. Attempts at improving his combat abilities. And, with a wave of embarrassment, the time he nearly got his team on an away mission killed with a hallucinogenic plant. Many of the memories are happy, though, tinged with silent awe of the expanse of the universe.
That's there too---the dream of exploring vast new worlds that he'd carried with him since childhood.

It's all he can offer, within the waves of pure emotion that is simply 'here', but the oddity senses everything he can and everything he gets? Etched into his own memory, sure that none of it is forgotten.
Within what is to him as Transcendence, he 'sends' one last embrace and a mutual awe of the expanses without. But also, the vast expanses within. Exploration and a home, a family. Two diametircally opposing dremas and yet, maybe, they both might simultaneously become a single truth.
It is with this thought that he carefully withdraws back into the world of solid touch, the world Humans call 'reality'. His whisper echoes of the formal words oft spoken at this time.
"One part from thee, but never parted. Until again, T'hy'la."
He'd never forgotten how much like a kick in the gut that can often feel like.
Returned now to his own Solidity and the thing called "karaoke", the creature takes a moment to just breathe. It's a lot even for him!
no subject
Then, he's slumped on the floor of the karaoke bar and panting for breath. If anyone else were to come by, they'd probably reach the conclusion that he'd been shoved down and had the breath squashed out of him by something.
Worse, there's a chilling emptiness inside him now, like something vital to his happiness had been ripped away from him. Probably an aftereffect of their sharing, he rationalizes. With any luck, it will fade soon. He props himself up on his arms shakily, opening his physical eyes for the first time in quite a while.
"Renne?" he asks when his breath is recovered enough for him to speak.
no subject
Oh yeah, he can relate to that. He'd felt the same sort of kick-in-the-gut. Shaking his head slowly, the oddity gives a chirp and extends both hand/paws out.
The balance on his big feet is for only a second compromised and easily corrected in this Tarzan-crouch of his. His hands go out solely to find Billy and be sure he'd not somehow gotten himself hurt in the separation.
"Eee. Bee."
no subject
"I'm not injured," he assures, moving back into a crouch. But he does have a question: "Is it normal to feel distress after mentally separating?" It's not the most elegant of words, but Billy doesn't have the benefit of knowing the lingo yet.
no subject
A trill-purr of relief. Then a nod.
"Eee. Eeey-ess, firrrs-t. Whe-n is new."
When it is new. He nearly smiles at that. Given time and contact, the pangs of separation may well fade completely. However, whether or not to tell the Human this fact, that given time, one and the other could form a permanent "residence" within a part of each other, is under some debate.
Even as much as what just transpired might be....well, much.
no subject
Normalcy is starting to return, so he takes a breath and thought briefly about what he'd done. They are bonded now, through thick and thin. They would make it through this together, Billy would see to that.
But then what would happen if their worlds were restored, and they had to separate forever? No---he wouldn't think about that just yet.
"Well...it looks like the party's still going on. Should I terrify the crowd with a song?"
no subject
His ears give a twitch. Chittering, the oddity playfully nudges the Human. 'Growing pains'? Oh...Joking? Head-tilt. Then a nod.
"Eeee, is new. Eee! Bee noh scah-rrree!"
no subject
He glances up at the stage then. "This person looks like she's having fun."
no subject
"Eee, rrraowrrr! If Bee do sin-g, may-bee...eeee..."
no subject
no subject
Wait-what? Oh, yes. He has a talent in the kitchen. And he's not above bribery with his nearly-famous-food.
no subject
"I can't believe I'm agreeing to this, but it's a deal." Even before they were bonded, Renne had an unusually large amount of power over his friend just by being adorable.
no subject
Now comes a squeal and an insane colour-flashing of delight. Tangible enough to maybe be felt? Who knows. He's...he's happy. Honest-to-gods happy.
One last nuzzling and the oddity moves to pick a spot next to the stage, why? He's quite dying to hear this actually.
