The thing you should know is that everyone is in really big trouble. Yeah. Even you.
Ax had escaped the Controllers on board. Brainy had not been so lucky. Neither had Sam and Tim. And who knew how many others on board had Yeerks wrapped around their brains, controlling their every movement, pretending that everything was normal until the time came to strike.
Who do you trust, podlings?
Who do you trust, podlings?
Re: The Statuary
He ignores the fighting over near the statue of a big ship between Speedy, Kate, and Danny, and sucks in a deep breath.
"Tim, you can fight this," he says in a wavery voice, staring in Tim's eyes with his own clear blue ones. "If it's you, and something's been done to you, you can--you're strong enough. Stronger than me. I couldn't--couldn't. So hard. When Luthor...but you can."
No one in the world has as strong a will as Tim's is, except for maybe Bats.
"You can beat this."
He believes in you, Tim. More than he's ever believed in himself with this kinda stuff.
Re: The Statuary
It wasn't a lie, either. Out of the people there, three of the ones attacked had powers.
The other two didn't.
Re: The Statuary
He can't even move his body enough to close the lid to the lead box and save his best friend.
His eyes are pleading with Kon from behind his mask. "I--can't," he says finally. "Go."
Re: The Statuary
She lunges in, angling her knuckles to tag under one of his arms.
Re: The Statuary
It's not time for jokes, but she needs to do something to hang on and calm herself down.
Re: The Statuary
"She has so many secrets, including her skills. Want to see?" She crowed before she lunged forward to tackle and wrest Mia to the floor before she could come in contact with Tim.
Re: The Statuary
Not that she interfered, but her foot-speed.
Mia shifted her focus, pulling back the arm ready to strike Robin and bending back at the waist, dodging most of Kate's advance. She grabbed one arm and shifted behind it, swinging her other elbow at Kate's shoulder.
She'd worry about apologizing for any injuries later. Ollie had taught her plain and simple. When your allies start acting not themselves, you take them down hard and fast. You don't waste time trying to get through to them or asking why it's happening.
Re: The Statuary
She wanted to take her down as well. She knew from the host the other young woman's skills. But clearly not all.
It didn't help the host had a satisfied grin, and was hoping Mia kicked both of their asses.
Re: The Statuary
She swung her fist up under Kate's arm, the same hand position as she'd prepared for Robin. If she hit the nerve cluster correctly, Kate would lose the use of one arm for a few hours, and be hurting a lot.
Re: The Statuary
Re: The Statuary
Yep, he's still got it in the clutch.
Robin's trying though. Even if he can't close the case, he spoke, and that tremulous voice was his own. It's something. If he can just...stay still.
Green K hurts him, but being half human provides a little protection. He tries to help drag her along with his own sluggish limbs. If Tim can fight the control and just...stay in place long enough...
Re: The Statuary
Still, she was following Kon as best she could.
Which wasn't very well at all.
She stays close to her cousin, though.
Re: The Statuary
Kara and Kon are almost to the door when Tim's control finally snaps. The pained expression smooths from his face, only to be replaced after a moment by a look of fury. He stalks toward the Kryptonians again, and bends down to shove the Kryptonite into Kon's face, not caring that the radioactive stone might be touching Kon's skin.
"Sorry, Conner," he says coldly. "You didn't really think you'd be able to get away, did you?"
Re: The Statuary
Where it touches his skin, the veins bulge and go green over his cheek, and start to spread out, and his skin starts to turn mottled green. He cringes, but he's too weak to move, too weak to fight back. It's hard just finding the strength to still breathe.
He meets Tim's gaze, but sees only that cold, furious stare back.
So, as his eyes roll back into his head, he tells him what he'd been told when it happened to him, what he wished so hard he could believe.
He's starting to lose consciousness now.
No, scratch that. He's dying.
Re: The Statuary
Why yes, her thought process was faster than her speech at the moment. She's also done her research, thanks to Bruce letting her use the Batcave.
Hold my cape! Hold my belt! I'm going to kick some Boy Wonder ass!
Heat vision flickered to life in Kara's eyes, and she shot out a small spurt of it.
It was all she could manage.
Re: The Statuary
Re: The Statuary
"Huh. Glowing green rock." Danny said, hovering away from the group. "Looks kinda radioactive....five bucks says I can find a statue made of lead to shove this thing into. Any takers?"
Re: The Statuary
Re: The Statuary
"...Don't hold back."
Her mannerisms stiffened again, and the Yeerk took full control as she reached for her bow to shoot her. Making sure the host knew exactly what the intentions were.
Re: The Statuary
He wants his Krptonite back--and he wants it now.
He's furious.
Re: The Statuary
Re: The Statuary
They need to find somewhere to rest, especially since they can't recharge--no yellow sunlight around anywhere.
Kon knows this, but unfortunately, he's having trouble staying conscious. Having K-rock shoved up in your face like that? Against the skin? So not good for you. He's still got that green skin thing going on, even if it's fading a little.
"Nnrgh."
Re: The Statuary
"Okay, possessing the girl aside, I don't care if you don't respect me, but you will damn well respect the bow!" She wrestled it from her grasp and lashed out with a kick, toes pointed, to the back of Kate's thigh.
Once she had the bow, she nocked an arrow and sighted Robin. This was going to be a flesh wound, but a nasty one. She let the shot fly.
Re: The Statuary
Re: The Statuary
Damn, he wishes he was wearing Robin's armor right about now.
Gritting his teeth, he yanks the arrow out of his skin, not caring that it hurts. And Danny is gone. Perfect.
