Pan-fandom, SciFi, and Screwed-Up
April 5th, 2010
Characters: Samuel Henderson, OPEN
Location: Corridor outside the Obs Deck, a bit out of the way
Time: Immediately following the explanation of the current state of affairs re: the Ohm, worlds, and whatnot.
Summary: Sam loses it. And nearly himself in the process.
Warnings: Definite blood warning, and anyone that tags may be attacked. Poke me on AIM (girlnamedlance) or via OOC comment if you want to work out something specific. Generally, I'm open to anything, I just don't want any kind of long lasting damage. And I'd like a little chaos to ensue before Spike, Leon, or anyone subdues him. And if he ends up in the brig awhile, I totally understand. Lastly, multiple threads are a-okay. 8D

It would be easier to let go. )
12:15 pm - this is not home
She did not want to be in this place, this was Antedis.  This was her planet, this living thing, this unexpected thing.  And yet, she had walked into the Sensorium blindly, like a child, and here it had grown.  It grew silvery trees with blood red leaves, crystal studded mountains reflecting the weak streams of pastel yellow sunlight that drifted down, diffused by the constant cloud cover.  There were no people, only wildness and tangles of golden ground cover in the form of shineshoots.

Kala trembled.

Recreating this was wrong.

It would rebel.

She blinked and started to back away.
The recent days have revealed a lot on board the ship and this was no exception. On the outside, it would look like a humongous tree, one that seemed impossible to grow even on Earth. Closer inspection, especially on the inside, would reveal that there was more to it than just a large tree. The outside was peppered with areas where it looked like ships could land, more trees lining the docks. The inside, however, gave it a more regal feel.

This large tree was the Juraian Royal Palace, the home to the ruling family.

This was Sasami's home.

While the girl was surprised she found this instead of Tenchi's home, she couldn't just outright abandon it. However, looking inside it made her feel... lost. It seemed that whoever was here before had ran rampant. As she came to the throne room, she noticed that some of the damage from Tenchi and Kagato's battle wasn't all that repaired.

Approaching the stairs and to the throne, Sasami sat down on it and looked it over. Her companion, Ryo-Ohki, let out a worried meow.

"Heheh... it's okay, Ryo-Ohki. Just... looking." Sasami said, before letting out a yawn. Between everything that had happened the past few days, Sasami was just exhausted, emotionally more than physically. "...I'm not a princess anymore. I'm the ruler of... whatever's left." Taking Ryo-Ohki in her arms, she held her close. "You think the other kids would think badly of me if they knew...?" Ryo-Ohki just meowed as she got comfortable in the girl's arms. As Sasami made herself comfortable herself, she started drifting off asleep.

If anyone happened to walk into the palace a few minutes later, they'd see Sasami passed out, her pigtails undone and her kimono being used as a blanket. On her lap, Ryo-Ohki rested comfortably.
Back home, Terry McGinnis had had the reputation of being that guy that was never around. And when he was around, he was usually only half-awake, if even that. It mostly came from being Batman - spending most of the night patrolling left the young man with little time to sleep besides in class. And after school, he'd have to leave for 'work' to maintain his cover of being Bruce Wayne's assistant. Back home, he just wasn't ever around.

Things weren't much different on the ship. While he didn't have to patrol, didn't have to make sure the old man took his meds and Ace got walked, he still tried to keep himself busy. He wanted to stay alert and focuses, and not let himself get rusty on his Batman training. So he'd spent a lot of time in the Sensoriums working out and running through simulated fights, staying away from most everyone else. He'd never admit it, but he was pretty much turning into the old man. Too focused on Batman, not focused enough on having a life.

But he'd ventured out of the Sensorium today... if only to find himself in the media library, researching computer hacking and detective skills. The two things he relied on Max and Bruce for, but couldn't any more.

Or, at least that's what he'd planned to do. He'd really fallen asleep at a desk, a media tablet under his arm. And he seemed to be snoring ever so slightly.

Anyone up to prodding the big lug and reminding him libraries are supposed to be quite places?
Signum had spent most of the day getting acquainted with the sensoriums, testing out the different types of training grounds it could recreate.

For now, she settled for something simple. The terrain the room showed was a vast, oppressive desert, filled with numerous steep dunes. The sky was a bright blue, where both a blindingly bright sun shone and twin blue-and-green moons hung in the air. In the far distance one could even see massive, almost alien creatures, though they didn't seem to be of importance in this simulation.

Satisfied with the terrain, she stands at the ready, wearing her knight's clothing and holding her rather impressive sword, Laevateinn, before her tip first in the ground, waiting for her sparring partner.
The clicking of needles could be heard in the living room late in the afternoon as Matt wore reading glasses, his fingers twitching through the repetitive motions. He had been feeling out of sorts lately, and after some checking, found one of Kandor's stashes of wool and had started to knit. It wasn't quite common for a warrior of Kandrakar to be doing this, but Matt really wanted to keep himself busy and it wasn't practical to keep using the sensoriums or the media library as much as he wanted to. So knit one, pearl two, and he was working on a pair of socks. Why? because he liked wearing socks when he went to bed. It kept his feet warm when Rein randomly sized up and stole the blankets.

That was another thing on his to do list: make the little desu machine a blanket. She had been a good friend, working on things when he wasn't there, but in their downtime, she was off somewhere or sleeping. Or eating. Eating mostly.

He set the blue sock to the side, looking at it before setting it down and starting up another row. It needed to be longer.

Tea. It is an agricultural product of the leaves, leaf buds, and internodes of the Carmellia sinensis plant, prepared and cured by various methods. The most widely consumed beverage in all the known worlds. Earth hadn't been the only planet to discover tea. In fact, each planet had a method in going about making tea.

On Stacy, Nura makes her tea from scratch, following what she knows from memory and data books she had scoured back home. She transforms the sensorium into a friendly room, equipped with comfy hovering plush chairs, end tables, potted plants, and a large dome above that looked out into space.

She hopes Wanda, and whoever else may join them, will approve.

Ground vehicles were not Samus' specialty.

Yet, somehow she had ended up surrounded by them. She had wandered out of the hangar after doing a bit of ship maintenance and ended up in between rows and rows and rows of two-wheeled, four-wheeled, whatever-wheeled vehicles. Some where fancy. Some were incredibly strange. Some even matched those she would find in her own universe, but she ignored all of them.

Except for a gem she found. Well, it wasn't really a gem. It was actually pretty low-tech compared to everything else she could find. But there was a certain... charm to this one. This plain old 21st motorcycle caught her eye. She couldn't really explain it. Once she saw it though, she had to try it out. The key was in the ignition. Her foot was on the kick start. She just had to go.
