Karaoke Night [OPEN]

Between nearly killing himself trying to help people and his talk with Nathan, Peter was exhausted. Even with his upbeat demeanor, it was hard to not say he felt stressed. His flight-breaks no longer helping, he decided he needed to take a few hours. He found himself at the sensoriums, a place he had heard talked about like the holodeck from Star Trek. As he walked in, it was a blank room. He closed his eyes and thought to himself.

I just need a way to relax.

He suddenly heard music, and opened his eyes to what appeared to be a high class nightclub, but filled with the strangest creatures he had ever seen, even since arriving on the ship. Behind the bar, a green-skinned redhead with horns, more conspicuous for his paisley shirt and purple ascot, was trying to get his attention.

"Hey, kiddo, didn't you hear them call your name?" The demon said, smiling. "You're up, bubbulah. Don't worry, I picked a good song for you." Peter eyed him warily. Wherever this place had come from, it was not his head. But decided not to question it, and went to stand in front of a karaoke machine on stage. He picked up the mike and saw the song, and smiled. He loved this song. EVERYONE loved this song. Luckily, a few years in boy's choir had given him a sense of tune, and puberty had left him with a decent tenor. So, he began to sing.

o/` I can't fight this feeling any longer,
And yet I'm still afraid to let it flow... o/`

That was all it took. As if suddenly injected with 100 ccs of pure rock ballad awesome, Peter closed his eyes and began letting the music take him, eventually rocking out. He had forgotten what it was like, honestly. Forgotten the fun of just letting go and having fun. And as he finished up the REO Speedwagon classic, breathing heavily and feeling alive, he wished he hadn't.

But then he opened his eyes to notice more than just his holographic audience had filtered into the "club".

"Uh... Next?" He said as he hastily replaced the mike and went to get a holo-beer.

That was embarrassing.  He could only hope someone would follow him up and make it slightly less so.

[ooc: Start a subthread with your character approaching the stage and singing a song. Characters can react to other's performances even if they aren't singing themselves. And any song you'd like, Lorne has the entire mutliverse on karaoke. I'm not asking, and neither should you.]

Wyn is no longer alone onstage! That makes her ridiculous amounts of happy-- and so does the fact that she's not dancing to what is effectively the metal version of Swedish dance-pop.

"Så rör på era fötter
Oa-a-a
Och vicka era höfter
Oooh-la-la-la
Gör som vi
Till denna melodi!
"

Jamie wanders in, drawn by the sounds of music. However, he has absolutely no experience with either karaoke or Swedish dance-pop (or Wyn dancing, for that matter), so in a matter of seconds his expression changes from from his usual curiosity to a stunned deer-in-headlights sort of look.

For once, there are absolutely no questions. There is just staring at the stage.

Wyn notices Jamie staring and grins, motioning for him to join her up on stage.

"Dansa med oss
Klappa era händer
Gör som vi gör
Ta ngåra steg åt vänster
Lyssna och lär
Missa inte chansen
Nu är vi här med
Caramelldansen
Oooh-oooh-oa-oa...
"

It's the easiest dance in the world, Jamie. As long as you can bounce from side-to-side and make your hands into kitty ears you'll be fine.

He would know that song anywhere.

It probably has something to do with the fact that Wyn was a bit obsessed with it for two months in college.

You try listening to it at least twice a day for eight weeks and not habitually gravitate towards the... obnoxiousness that it radiates. Man, it's so obnoxious... he likens it to those store windows filled with Hello Kitty. It's like a seizure, only with more acid and less brain damage. (Also, Welsh.)

Actually, no, there's lots of brain damage to be had. He's surprised his brain hasn't liquified and trickled out his ears by now.

And, of course, when he pokes his head in, it's Wyn on the stage, flailing about with her hands glued to her head like some poor, deformed cat-with-hands-for-ears. It's tragic. The guitar is pretty awesome, though.

Wyn's grin gets even wider as she spots Caden lurking in the crowd. She's well in the middle of the 'Caramelldansen' phase, and the look on her friend's face when he realizes that Wyn was the one dancing was absolutely priceless.

"Det blir en sensation överallt förstås
På fester kommer alla att släppa loss
Kom igen
Nu tar vi stegen om igen
!"

Come flail about like a poor, deformed cat, Caden! It's fun!

He sees that grin, Wyn. He knows that grin.

No. Thank. You.

He'll just stay over here in the corner.

The grin that says 'you will join me onstage one way or another'? That grin?

Oa-a-a
Och vicka era höfter
Oooh-la-la-la
Gör som vi
Till denna melodi!

Jamie is with Caden on this. There's no way Wyn would be able to get both of them up on the stage if they stick together.

Right?
