Phase 2 - Running the Ratrace

You have my sincerest apologies, but I have my mission.

The traps start. Rotating blades coming out of the walls and floors and ceilings, jets of fire, lasers, holographic enemies. The clear walls of the maze let them see what's happening to everyone else.

The traps start, and they have to stay alive despite them. If they stop avoiding them, it's their own fault, you see, if they die. That makes it indirect enough for Stacy's Anti-harming-the-crew protocols to be avoided, as Hal, despite his reprogramming, still has to follow some constraints.

Please commence with killing yourselves by being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The only chance the group has is if they work together to stay alive, and somehow they have to take out the shield projectors creating the maze even though they themselves are shielded...

[ooc: Cooperation is key, people. Hal can only adapt to one power/skill-set at a time, not all of them.]

Picard didn't have super powers, but he had decades of experience, and a Type 3 Phaser, and that was all he needed. He kept true to the expectations of the ninja, holding his fire until the time was right. "Mister Static," he asked, uncertain of the young man's real name, "how much longer can you keep a shield of this magnitude up?"

"If they keep feeding me lightning, maybe five minutes. If they stop 'n switch it up, maybe a minute, minute and half. The strain's tough, but I'm cycling the energy. Please tell me you've got a better plan..."

Sweat was beginning to bead on Static's forehead as a result of the shield, adding a bit of punctuality to his statement. Each generator they busted added a bit more, but the control of holding the shield in place was wearing him down.

"Plans are wonderful things! The psychotic AI might add more weapons if we don't get out of here!" Dark Smoke Puncher called as he moved the turret to fire at some more.

"Right. I think I may have one, too. Everyone, fall back behind Mister Static's shield!" Turning to Static, Picard unholstered his Type 2 Phaser, letting his rifle hang by its strap on his shoulder. This plan, he thought, had better work.

"I'm going to disengage the safety protocols on my phaser and cause it to self destruct. The resulting explosion should take down all of the turrets and generators within our vicinity. Mister Static, once I do this, I'll need you to opena hole in the shield, and then we'll fall back as much as we can. When I give the signal, you'll need to focus your shield on our front instead of all around us. I doubt a full surrounding shield would have the strength to protect against a burst of nadion particles. Do you understand?"

"Give or take, I got it. You'll have to explain 'nadion' to me some other time. I assume it's nothing like a Boson particle... Just give the word."

Jack falls back behind the shield, he's fighting mad but glad for a couple seconds of respite and panting from the effort put into all the turrets he was helping to smash.

"Sounds good," he chuffs, though he's itching to be moving again. "If that doesn't work I'm still awesome at smashing things."

Dark Smoke Puncher withdrew the blade and came back on Picards orders. And absolutely refused to geek out about hearing the plan.

What? Self destructing phaser was cool. Well, not that destroying something so cool was cool, just that it was an OPTION was cool.

"And I can jack another one, yo," Dark Smoke Puncher said added after Jack. Though he bet it'd work. Just cause it was Captain Picard.

"Right," Picard said, acknowledging their comments as he worked on the phaser. It had been a long time since he'd deliberately blown one up. The power coupling protocols were mildly more difficult to disengage than he remembered, but in a moment he was done. He pulled his arm back to swing.

"Mister Static, open the shield now!" Already the phaser was emitting a dangerous sounding high-pitched whine, and he let it fly, not wanting to lose his arm or more to a makeshift nadion grenade.

Static opened the shield as ordered. "Now, you're sure it's nothing like a Boson? 'cause the time travelling particles I don't do so well with..." He closed and adjusted the shield as soon as it was through.
