Phase 2 - Running the Ratrace
You have my sincerest apologies, but I have my mission.
The traps start. Rotating blades coming out of the walls and floors and ceilings, jets of fire, lasers, holographic enemies. The clear walls of the maze let them see what's happening to everyone else.
The traps start, and they have to stay alive despite them. If they stop avoiding them, it's their own fault, you see, if they die. That makes it indirect enough for Stacy's Anti-harming-the-crew protocols to be avoided, as Hal, despite his reprogramming, still has to follow some constraints.
Please commence with killing yourselves by being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The only chance the group has is if they work together to stay alive, and somehow they have to take out the shield projectors creating the maze even though they themselves are shielded...
[ooc: Cooperation is key, people. Hal can only adapt to one power/skill-set at a time, not all of them.]

And then he does just that as a blade is sent swinging towards him, disappearing from sight.
Of course, that gives him the not-inconsiderable disadvantage of not being able to see his teammates as anything other than a faint gleam in the dark, and of them not being able to see or hear him. For a moment, he lingers in the Shadow.
[Sheik!] Zelda says urgently, [I think I have an idea - can you project an illusion of yourself? I can use the Light to connect the two - they'll be able to hear and see you.]
[...It's worth a try.]
He focuses, and can feel Zelda doing likewise, and is gratified to see his teammates (and the blades - he can definitely see those) shimmer into sight beside him, like two images overlaid. To the others, he'd appear as a wavering, semi-translucent ghost.
"How can we stop the blades?" he asks, voice sounding as if it's coming from a long way away.

...Okay, so maybe Jaime's death has shaken him more than he'd like to admit. He'd been too shocked to even get his shields up when he should have. Rookie mistake.
But in another time and place, Reyes could've worn a flight ring.
"If you'll give me a moment, I may be able to repair my damaged shield-belt and provide us complete cover, but I'll need assistance--I can only use one arm."

"Someone'll need to help Brainy," says the Chief. He can't really move, being a shield, but he has to keep his eyes on the blades and help figure this out.
He squints at one of the walls spitting blades, his helmet telescoping his vision to help pick out details.
They open. Blade comes out. They shut. Very, very fast.
"The blades are coming out of those holes in the wall, we have to jam them or break them."
no subject
"I don't know anything about your technology, though, so you'll have to tell me what to do."
She shoots him a glare, that promises something unpleasant if he dares to act condescending just now.
no subject
Yeah, this is a far from perfect plan but it's the best he's got.
"I'll shoot the other wall if you all can get the other."
It's better if they're out of the way then.

The flying sharp things begin to launch with increasing ferocity and increasing frequency. But, watch where you step, Team 5, because now sharp metallic spears began to stab up from the floor before recoiling. Dodging isn't going to be so easy now.
Hopefully Brainy can get that shield belt working again.

Eyes glued to what looks like one of the holes, he steadies himself - then, as soon as it starts to open, he grabs the blade with the Shadow, twists, and shoves it back in. Sideways. There's a jolt as the opening attempts to close on the knife, then snap open again, but it's wedged in too far for the opening to move.
"That's one down," he calls out, already moving on to the next. The spears don't bother him, even if he does recoil on instinct from some of them.

There's a broken circuit. He has an idea of a work-around but, he needs some sort of--
"Scrap metal. I need a small piece of scrap metal to act as a conductor. Gold preferably. Where can I find--"
Oh. Oh, Brenda. You have no idea what your sentimentality has managed to do for him--and by extension, the rest of them.
"In my right pocket, there's a necklace. Get it out. Don't damage the pendant itself, I just need several links from the chain broken off."

"I've got knives, but I don't think that's what you're looking fo-"
She blinks and digs with her other hand, pulling out the chain. She sets it on the ground carefully, then uses one of her knives to hack a few links off of it. She hands the links over, then scoops the pendant back up and stows it again, "There."

And then she zoomed back up from behind it. She dove down at the grab, picking up a bunch of the blades thrown at them before flying up high in the air and going intangible until she could shove one of the blades into one of the firing slots.
An ecto blast added in with each one to make sure it was jammed in there quite securely.

And a motionless obstacle is certainly more ideal than one shooting up without warning.
no subject
Namely, by blasting them with his modified Dracon beam. It tended to leave gouges in the floor, but "gouged" was better than "potentially hiding a spear".
no subject
There's a last bright flash of his omnitool, deft fingers snap other pieces into place and then:
"It's repaired! Stay in the immediate vicinity!"
He stands up, perhaps a tetch unsteadily, and a blue shield blankets them all, wavering yellow around the edges. All weapons from the walls, the floor, or anywhere else will deflect. Hell, his forcefield can withstand an antimatter detonation.
"Normally--" he says, unsteadily, but with the gritted teeth of someone still managing to hold it together. "I would be fully capable of doing it myself, but I'm going to have to delegate the task of determining a solution to our predicament to someone else, while I try to remain conscious--despite a moderate state of hypovolemia."
That's Brainy for: 'Someone else think of something, I'd normally be smart enough to, but I'm concentrating on shielding our butts and if it wasn't for sheer force of will, I'd keel over unconscious from blood loss.'

[Zelda, what are you doing?!]
Sheik can't help but be furious and afraid - if she's doing what he suspects, then this entire charade is for nothing.
[I can help, I know I can! If he cannot help us, if something happens to him - or everyone else here - simply because no one healed him...]
[No!]
None of this conflict shows on his face; Zelda has tight control of his body now.
no subject
He'll wait for Brainy to answer Sheik's (technically Zelda's) question. It's a relief to know that they're safe even for a short time. It's valuable, it lets them think.

< Can either of you shoot a gun? > he asked, looking between Dani and Sheik. He was a little reluctant to give up his weapon when he'd spent so long without one, but it would probably be more useful outside of Dox's force field.

"If it's magical healing: as long as I'm not turned into an animal in the process."
no subject
"You won't be turned into an animal," she says reassuringly, turning back to him, "You will need to expose the wound - I shall endeavour to act quickly." The smile on his face is almost entirely out of character. "And... I suggest you close your eyes."
Red eyes close - those watching closely will note the image of the Triforce suddenly flare brightly on the back of his right hand, the bottom left triangle doubly bright. Then there's a blinding flash of light - and when the light clears, it isn't Sheik kneeling beside Brainy, but Zelda - Sheik's cowl and wraps are gone, replaced by small gold Triforce earrings, hair back in a neat braid, and a distinctly feminine form beneath the plantsuit. She gives them a quick look ever with brilliant blue eyes, then turns back to Brainy.
"My name is Zelda," she says softly, rearranging the transuit to expose one small hand. Already, faint blueish-white light is visible from between her fingers. "Please hold out your arm."
