Phase 2 - Running the Ratrace

You have my sincerest apologies, but I have my mission.

The traps start. Rotating blades coming out of the walls and floors and ceilings, jets of fire, lasers, holographic enemies. The clear walls of the maze let them see what's happening to everyone else.

The traps start, and they have to stay alive despite them. If they stop avoiding them, it's their own fault, you see, if they die. That makes it indirect enough for Stacy's Anti-harming-the-crew protocols to be avoided, as Hal, despite his reprogramming, still has to follow some constraints.

Please commence with killing yourselves by being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The only chance the group has is if they work together to stay alive, and somehow they have to take out the shield projectors creating the maze even though they themselves are shielded...

[ooc: Cooperation is key, people. Hal can only adapt to one power/skill-set at a time, not all of them.]

Owen's working his superspeed at short range the best he can. A long-operating boomerang is launched, and it stops in mid-air to keep spinning at high speed, hopefully drawing gases away from them. Hopping rapidly from one foot to the other keeps the bonding from setting.

"Walk light and fast, touch as little of your feet to the ground as possible to weaken the bonding."

Right now he's worried about the lady in the giant heavy space-armor, in that regard.

Tim is already on that.

...The moving part, at least, and he's pretty sure he has a solvent in his belt if someone gets completely stuck. And the protective suit he got at the beginning of this mess is really helpful right now.

Tim eyes the projectors as he moves. Hm. He wonders what an exploding Batarang would do.

Walk light he said, and Motoko rolled her eyes. She weighed as much as a small car, it was a pain and a half to have to put so much effort into every step. Oh well, these military-grade limbs weren't for nothing.

Of course, just as she decided that, a warning indicator flashed up from her nutrient monitoring systems. She shut off her oxygen-transfer and switched to what little she had stored. It's enough to last a few minutes, it wasn't as if she had to feed a whole body of tissues after all.

"Aran!" She snapped, drawing a poisoned breath that never touched her filter-lines. Motoko could hit anything inside the visible range, but bullets were small, and she'd seen the burning, melting damage that canon on Samus' arm could do, "Hit the nozzle!"

Other circumstances, Aran might have snapped back. However, they have to get everyone out and a few commands won't hurt Samus.

Samus turned quickly, well, as quick as the sticky floors allowed. She wasted no time, bombarding the nozzle with a slew of corrosive blasts. That should take care of that nicely.

Still hopping awkwardly from foot to foot, trying to advance down the hallway, Owen figured it was time for an experiment. He took out the flamethrower and acid-spewer boomerangs, hurling them each down the corridor a ways apart from each other. "Clear a path!" He shouted a warning to his teammates, hoping this would work.

The acid sure melted away the sticky material, and.... then just was still on the floor, bubbling away. "Uh... don't step in that!"

The flames did much better though, scouring a clean path across the floor, before switching off and swinging back to him. "...Oh yes, I rule!" He grinned.

Samus had began to worry she'd have to remove her armor in order to be light enough to move through, but oh goody, a path! That worked well. She managed to pull her armor out of the goop onto the new sticky-stuff-free trail.

"Let's move."

"Right," Motoko agreed tersely and follow suit. They had a job to do. Either this lot would stay alive to complete their goal, or they wouldn't, but Samus and the Major had their own agenda.

I love my cape, I love my armor, and I am going to kiss Batman for making it, if I get out of this alive, Tim tells himself as he starts dodging gobs of hot glue. What lands on him doesn't get past the fire-proof armor and cape.

Time for those exploding Batarangs.

He hurls two at separate turrets, watching the explosions in satisfaction.

"Hope that stings, Hal."

"I'll see your explosives kid, and raise you some sparks." He smirks at Robin.

Owen draws another boomerang, honing in on another turret. "I always hated your movie, red-eye..." He flips a switch to set it for impact, and unleashes a high-voltage boomerang, sending it straight into its target, at which point it releases massive amounts of electricity.

Dodging glue, that's fun, too. The morph ball certainly helps.

Samus sticks to straight up firepower. She's got plenty of that to throw at Hal. Shoot, roll, shoot, roll, she get's a nice rhythm going.

Unlike Samus, Motoko has a limited source of ammunition, and with any luck she'll have a very different target to use it on. It's true that he gun has a grenade-launching capability— must thank Leon for getting the right model.

"Trumped up abacus!" she snarled to herself, dodging around Samus to take point. The glue-turrets were amply handled and behind them, there was no point in dallying.

"Are you kidding? Kickass movie." He raises an eyebrow. "Nice." Electrified batarangs might be cool. He wonders if he can get Owen to show him how to do that.

Of course, it would mean talking to him more than is strictly necessary, and he's not really sure he wants to talk to anyone calling himself "Captain Boomerang," but... Owen isn't really guilty of the sins of his father.

Despite his atrocious taste in fashion.

"Jeez, you kids are chatty," Holly said through gritted teeth. She'd figured that some of the people here were superheroes, but she'd never really cared about that particular human genre, so she didn't know just how annoying all that talking really was in a fight.

Holly managed to zip around the projectiles, and the few that made contact didn't effect her through her LEP uniform. It was designed to withstand goblin fire, after all. Holly pushed the settings of her Neutrino up as far as they would go, and started taking shots at the turrets.

Fighting fire-glue with fire-waves, she thought with a grin.

"Aw to HELL with this!" Owen pulls out two razor boomerangs. Carbonized titanium with laser-sharpened edges, they'd cut through just about anything, hopefully.

And hopefully he'd be able to catch them like always, without rending himself apart.

"Everyone! Get clear!"

He flung them both out in paths along the walls, trying to shear off as many of the laser turrets as possible. Each boomerang swung as it hit the end of it's arc, coming back along the opposite wall.

Jeckie flung herself out of the way as Owen did his thing, a scowl marring her pretty features. If this is what being a superhero actually meant, she realized that there were some other things in life she'd rather be doing.

Though to be a queen who has fought a war is indeed an advantage.

Automatically, Motoko booted up her projection software, and ended up promptly being forced to dodge backwards as a seemingly random laser cut it's way across her would-be path. Never ask her what would happen tomorrow unless you wanted a longwinded philosophy lesson, but if you asked this cyborg what would happen in the next millisecond, she'd never be wrong.

'Get clear!' Owen's warning rang out, and Motoko snatched a glance— ah. The processors whirled their little dance of numbers at lightning speed, plotting the arc of the blades. She wasn't in the path of danger— not from that direction, anyway.
