Get you Gone
The meeting is over, the teams have been assigned, the plans have been laid out. It's time to get weapons.
It's time to wish each other luck, and say goodbyes--with the hope that they're only "good bye for now"s.
It's about to get very hairy from here on out.

Re: Deployment
Katara shrugged. "It can't be helped, I guess. Some of us get to have powers most humans wouldn't have, and they need to have something to protect them. To me they're like really small fire cannons, but way more devastating. Just trying to heal all of those wounds the last time..."
Katara decided for the last question she wasn't going to try and explain it for the millionth time. Instead, she reached for her water-skin, and out came the water she drew about her like a kind of kite, moving it around the air, and then leading it back to her skin again.
"I bend it like that," she said. "I move the water through martial arts. Anything that has water, I can use."
Re: Deployment
It takes him a few seconds after she puts the water away to stop staring, but he does manage to compose himself. "I can see why ye would be an asset to the bridge team. That was verra impressive."
This actually reminds him why he came over to speak with her in the first place, and he adds, "Erm. I actually wanted to wish ye and the others good luck. It's just I don't know a lot of them, and...well, I hope ye don't mind."
Re: Deployment
"It will definitely came in handy, and hopefully be the reason I might not have to depend on the guns. They're fine enough, but I've only had a few days with them, and honestly, I prefer bending anyway. It feels more personal somehow, since it was a art I had to train in for awhile.
Katara gave him a beaming smile, and this time, she did actually take the hand a little. "Actually, that means a lot. There are a lot of good people on this team, and I have no doubt we will make sure none of us get hurt too much."
Also, there were her healing arts as well as other peoples, but he might find out about that later.
Re: Deployment
After a pause, he continues cheerfully, "Although I do wish I could go with your group. Even if it'll be dangerous, it'd be exciting to see more of the ship."
Despite the words, there's a niggling little sense of unease that has been with him for a little while now. When Katara mentions people getting hurt, something of the feeling can be seen briefly in his eyes. He attempts to hide it with a wry smile. "Still. When ye get back, ye can tell us all about it, aye?"
Re: Deployment
Katara shrugged. "Well either way, the enemy is coming at us on all sides. I'm sure you'll do fine! You just make sure everyone is taken care of, okay?"
The waterbender nodded. "You know I will, just as I'm sure you'll do everything you can too. I'll want to know a little bit about your world when I get back too."
Re: Deployment
"Anyway. I'd best get going - looks as though it may be about time for those of us staying behind to move out. It was nice to meet ye, Katara. I look forward to seeing ye again after ye get back."
