Get you Gone

The meeting is over, the teams have been assigned, the plans have been laid out. It's time to get weapons.

It's time to wish each other luck, and say goodbyes--with the hope that they're only "good bye for now"s.

It's about to get very hairy from here on out.

"Hey," he said, but his tone was teasing and that smile on his face stayed there. It felt good to settle into comfortable territory with her, like this, and made him relax a little. Pushing open the door to the Precinct, he followed the signs to the armory. "I'll have you know the Jedi have moved on from harrying businesspeople."

"You honestly expect me to believe that you aren't harassing smugglers at all?" Mara paused to read a sign, then jogged to catch up with Luke and snag his sleeve. "Other way, farm boy."

Luke flushed, jogging a step to keep up with her after turning round and coming to the correct door. "We've had other things on our collective mind lately."

"I'm sure they're loving the extra freedom." Mara passed through the door, looking around. They were supposed to go to the sub-Armory to find the types of weapons they were used to. Why they were having to work through a maze to do it was beyond her. Green eyes searched the room until she found the next door on their hunt, labeled sub-Armory.

He got ahead of her and opened it for her. The lights came up, and gleamed on an array of familiar weapons--holdout blasters, DL-44s like the one Han carried, blaster rifles, the works.

"Wow," he said quietly. "Stacy really did pull out all the stops for this."

"Wow," she echoed, eyes scanning over the selection. There was quite the assortment, and the sensation was rather like that of a kid finding a sweets shop. The hard part would be choosing.

Luke ran his hand over some of them. "I don't even thing Galactic Alliance Security has an arsenal this comprehensive," he said, and turned to look at Mara. A little chuckle escaped at the look on her face and the way she felt in the Force to him. "Remember whatever we grab, we carry and fight with," he said.

With that, Luke turned to the holdout blasters arrayed in foam on a table, holsters off to the side. There were small pistols with just a few shots' worth in them, and larger, more powerful ones that still could be fired one-handed.

"That's the plan."

Mara slipped between the racks, brushing her fingers over weapons like they were old friends. She didn't see anything like the tiny one she would typically hide in her sleeve, but there were plenty of other things for her to pick from. "Something little, and something with some serious kick."

He watched Mara out of the corner of his eye, smiling a little still at how she acted. It was so familiar to his memories of her. Same old Mara.

Luke turned his attention back to the blasters on the table, picked up a tiny Nubian-type pistol. It was like the ones that his mother had used as Queen of Naboo and later as Senator. It also didn't feel quite right in his hand, so he put it back and let his fingers trail over the varieties until he reached the DL-44 that had reminded him of Han, picked it up. It made him think of their adventures together. Han had gone from an irritatingly cocksure smuggler to a trusted friend, brother and ally. That was the kind of thing that Luke needed to carry into this. He set it down to pick up a holster and some extra tibanna packs.

"Hopefully we won't have to use these," he murmured, making sure the blaster was set to 'stun' before sliding it into the holster.
