The meeting is over, the teams have been assigned, the plans have been laid out. It's time to get weapons.

It's time to wish each other luck, and say goodbyes--with the hope that they're only "good bye for now"s.

It's about to get very hairy from here on out.

And just like that, Nate was there. He wasn't particularly noticeable in the crowd, but when he saw her, he pushed his way through and moved to stand nearby as she checked her gear. Once he was sure she was done, he cleared his throat, a little awkward, but hopefully it would get her attention.

"So...you're going with them, huh?" Yeah...he's real smooth this one.

Cassie was surprised when she looked up. She thought she would have to track Nathaniel down to say bye, if she was going to say bye. Wait no, it wasn't good bye it was good luck... and just in case.

"Yeah. I can shrink so I can get through places where others can't."

Well it wasn't like he was looking for her or anything. Except that, you know, he totally was. He just happened to see the crowd and thought he'd go see what was going on.

"Well, wouldn't that make you more easily hurt? Someone could like...step on you by accident."

"I can grow too. It's not a problem." Although being a bigger target was.

"Well uh...just be safe. 'Cause you know..." Why was it so hard to say 'because I have no friends anywhere and you're the first person who was ever nice to me?' Hmm. "...it wouldn't...be cool if you got hurt."

Cassie couldn't help but smile. "I will. You be careful too, it doesn't sound like everyone's safe here either."

At her smile he raised a hand to the back of his neck uncomfortably. "I won't be much use either way. But I can at least make sure I'm okay."

"I happen to know you're pretty good at fighting. At least when you've had training. Your body might remember it even if you don't." She paused. "Not that you should use that as an excuse to do anything crazy but, you know..."

"...Yeah? Well..I don't really feel anything. Maybe if someone attacked me or something. But I dunno." He chuckled lightly. "I'm not really known for... being crazy."
