Whodunnit?

It was time to get a little more organized, share some information with each other. She had a talk with that bigface kid, Jaime, to see if he could do anything to shield them from Stacy's prying eyes and he said he had a few ideas, so a meeting place was chosen, and it was time to gather.

Cybil had a good authoritative, shouting voice.

"Everyone, listen up! We're meeting down in the city near that big tree. Grab whoever you see and get down there."

Indeed they were. People were starting to gather there.

[ooc: Instead of little subthreads, everyone post in one thread as people arrive. Try to keep the convo general, like everyone talking to each other, instead of devolving into private conversations.]

The Doctor relented, backing off slightly. "Bright eyes? No, not them, then. They probably don't want to leave the shadows of the building. Which just makes it more important that we don't draw them out."

He frowned. "Without a better description, I couldn't begin to guess what it was you saw." Pause. "Well. I could, it just probably wouldn't be very accurate."

Danny decided to speak up.

"Uh, going back to the possessing and the "Ghost of Christmas Yet To Future", if we actually happen to be haunted we do have an early warning system. Namely me. It won't work unless the ghosts are within attacking range, mind you, but it's at least something."

Kate's head whipped to him, and she tilted her head.

"Like what? Ghost radar? How does it work so we'll know."

"Well, basically the temperature around me drops, and my breath rises, y'know, like it usually does when someone get cold. Sounds kinda dumb in theory, I know, but it's one of the reasons I'm still just half-ghost instead of all ghost."

"Um." Tim cleared his throat, raising his hand as though he were in school and had the right answer. "I'm generally pretty good with computers. That is--I've been known to hack some pretty secure places... mostly for information. Occasionally just to see if I can."

He was glad to finally be able to offer something. He'd been silent for the rest of the meeting--listening and absorbing the facts others had gathered, but... He preferred being useful.

"Holy crap," Leela said. Yes, she just noticed him, but he'd been hiding in the shadows, and she hadn't really seen him when he was meet n' greeting. She'd only seen the Super-kid.

"You're Robin. Like...Batman and Robin."

[personal profile] mrsarcastic003 2008-09-25 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Um. Guilty?" Tim said with an uncertain smile. "You're not from Gotham, are you? Because that gang war really wasn't our fault, and we were trying to contain things, not make things worse, and it's not really our fault that Black Mask did the things he did--and how do you predict guy like that anyway, and... I'm rambling." He made a face. "Sorry."
mrsarcastic003: (Happy Tim)

[personal profile] mrsarcastic003 2008-09-25 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
Tim choked slightly in laughter. "Hey, I only wore those once, and I had a compelling reason. The redesign is way cooler, and doesn't involve me walking around in my underpants."

He filed away the note about other universes as fiction for a later date, when he had more time to work out what that might mean for him, and for some of the others he'd met.

[identity profile] daaayum.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Even the shortpants weren't as bad as the nipple-suits."
mrsarcastic003: (Bwah Tim)

[personal profile] mrsarcastic003 2008-09-25 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
Tim stared. "I'm sorry, what, now?" He couldn't imagine any version of the suit that would have nipples built into it. That was just absurd.

[identity profile] daaayum.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
"After the Tim Burton movies, they had the ones with Val Kilmer and George Clooney as Batman, and Chris O'Donnell as Robin, and Alicia Silverstone as Batgirl, and they sculpted the suits really weird and actually put, like, sculpted nips on 'em. Those were some baaaad movies. They had Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze."
mrsarcastic003: (Bwah Tim)

[personal profile] mrsarcastic003 2008-09-25 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
"...There are movies." Tim couldn't even bring himself to make it a question. It seemed so unreal. "And they couldn't find anyone better to play Batman, Robin, and Batgirl than them? Really?" He was shocked. "Okay, neither Batgirl was blonde, and the only blonde Robin was a girl. Unless there's something about Chris O'Donnell I don't know."

[identity profile] so-pregnable.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Are you, perhaps, from the Twilight Zone? Because that's the only place such movies could--and should exist. In a land of the different, the bizarre, and the unexplainable. I mean, George Clooney is likeable. Smarmy, but likeable. You can't have someone likeable that plays Bats. It'd have to be someone utterly incapable of smiling without straining something."

He waves a hand slightly. "The best actor," he goes on, "would probably be found in an ad about constipation medicine..."

Sam stood with his mouth hanging open in bewilderment, amazed at how suddenly the conversation had shifted from assassin angels to nipple-suits and blonde hair to ExLax. He looked over at the captain and nodded in the direction of Leela and Boy Wonder. “And you’re worried about me walkin’ around by myself?”

[identity profile] anoldtrickster.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
Wednesday breaks into a long, low chuckle at the momentary topic of conversation–it's almost a snicker, really–finally trailing off with a hiss of breath. "I've never had very much to do with machines, but I think I could manage some–nontraditional ways of tricking the things here. If you'd be willing to trust me and not ask too many questions about it."

"I have yet to attempt to 'hack' the CIA databases, but I doubt that I would find it difficult to do, Officer Cybil," Ax said, managing not to call her 'Prince' in front of the assembled crew. Lyta was the only one he knew that he could trust, after all. "I would be more than happy to assist in gathering information. Thur, thuring. Ing."

[identity profile] titanium-will.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
Tony'd keep his opinion on giant rubber suits with nipples to himself, though he was having a hard time keeping the grin off his face. He'd rather attempt to focus.

"I've designed a firewall or two." Tony admitted. "Usually I'm more concerned with keeping people out of my business." These kids seemed bright enough, though he was beginning to wonder if this Ax boy was some sort of idiot savant.

Elsewhere in the city there is gunfire--apparently Stacy finally let him have his gun.

For all the good it'll do him.

"Oh God, this isn't happening! This isn't happening! FUUUUUUUUUCK! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK! OH GOD! OH GOD!"

[identity profile] cutintomyheart.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
"Did you hear that?" Christofel comments absently, glancing off in the direction the gunfire came from.

[identity profile] lytaalex.livejournal.com 2008-09-26 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
Once the field came down and everyone--with weapons drawn--began to slowly move in the direction of the shots, Lyta meandered her way through the crowd and, spotting Ax, she walked over to join him.

"Stay close," she said rather protectively.

Granted, in his true form he appeared to be more than capable of taking care of himself but he wasn't in his natural form. And since he'd made it clear to her that he wanted to keep his true form a secret for the time being, until he was comfortable with his own safety, he was stuck in the body of a teenage boy. A teenage boy that appeared to have little to no way of defending himself.
