In Which Teen Zetta Cruises For Chicks [Open. I am sorry.]
Sunglasses on.
Engine roaring.
Music blaring.
Accelerator depressed, gears engaged, and he was off.
The 2023 Ferrari Infinity streaked like a bullet through the City, down corridors, across the obs deck, anywhere it could reach, a black blur to those with slow vision, accented by a red streak where the flames of the Overlord's hair trailed far behind the convertible in wind-tossed delight. A smug grin on his face, left elbow propped firmly on the door, the Overlord did what any teen demon -- or, demon de-aged to about 1700 or so -- would do.
He was cruising for chicks.
Ladies, look out; Teen Zetta is looking for you.

Except it wasn't a hunch, it really was happening.
She had taken to writing her last memory before retiring to bed each day. The truth was there in black and white each morning; she had been loosing a bit of her memory each day. Damn. Faced with the solid evidence of her own handwriting, there was no real room for argument.
She needed to put her mind on other things. Building objects, no matter how big, small or silly, had always been very therapeutic for her as was the sound of dead bodies exploding but she couldn't have that here. Since the visit to the merchant planet, she had amassed a surprising amount of tools, and was now going around the city's numerous empty buildings to see if she could find a few piece of metal or objects she could mold into other things. What things, she wasn't sure, but as long as she was doing something, it wouldn't matter.
She was so concentrated in her work, that she barely heard the music approaching.

SCREEEEEEEEEEEECH!
Losing 33300 years had made the Overlord a less subtle driver somehow. The car skidded to a halt not far from her as she came out of a building, with the Overlord's broad grin and much-too-young gaze landing on her.
"Heeeeeeeeey, Lash."

She stood for a second looking at the car stopping just a few feet from where she was standing, holding a particular long piece of metal pipe, before her gaze turn to its driver. Damn, that music was loud, but at least it wasn't that dumb song from a while ago.
"Word up?" Pause. She'd been caught up in the song. "I mean hey." Lash squinted her eyes as if it would help her see better. "Wait. You're looking younger." Pause. Stare. "...a lot younger then a few days ago."

But the car ride last time had been pretty fun, so she unwisely tossed that warning sign. And she was bored of all this scavenging for parts. Maybe a distraction could help.
"...what the hell." She tossed the large pipe behind her and jumped in.

He punched the guess, sending the car screaming off down the streets of the City. Still smiling very smugly.
"So how's the resident hot scientist chick doing today?" he asked with a sidelong glance.

"I've been taking notes to see how much of my memory is leaving each day."

"What, you want me to start training right away before I turn into a kid?" She crossed her arms. "I'm still strong no matter what age I am, don't forget it!"
Right over her head.

"Yeah, yeah yeah, that's usually what happens when two people spar, genius. Maybe since you're much younger I might actually stand a better chance this time, tee hee hee!"

He struggled with terms in his brain for a moment, then finally came up with, "I'm freaking trying to get to know you better! Like... better better. Intimately. That's the word I was looking for!"
no subject
"WHAT?!" Yes, a true bastion of insight about the current situation.
We're sorry. Lash's brain appears to have left somewhere.

Her reaction baffled and confused him! He looked back at her (narrowly missing a fire hydrant. Why was there even a fire hydrant?)
no subject
"B-because!" Because... "I-i don't know, age gap for one? What about Lady Buns of Steel?" Sorry Salome, that's what Lash was calling you from now on. She wanted to sink into the chair, confused at the entire thing, cheeks turning rather red.

"I guess you didn't meet her at that age, but we talked about her before. Your disciple? Salome."
Lash let the last word linger and she continued to fidget in her car seat, her cheeks still pretty pink.
no subject
Zetta... really wasn't the sort to keep a diary or record of his thoughts. Writing them down was annoying and put him in a bad mood!
no subject
"We talked about her on the ship!" she protested, knowing that her own memories here appeared to be relatively intact. "And remember we talked about memories leaving us and you said you'd age a lot slower than me? And the fact you were a book! And--" She looked at Zetta again.
"Are you...even listening to anything I am saying?"
no subject
Zetta was in a fast car with a cute girl and on top of the world; he wasn't too bothered by much of anything right now.
no subject
Besides, switching the fact she appeared still flustered was much easier to manage when you were both angry and worried.
no subject
Really, once your soul was trapped in a book, everything was an improvement.
no subject
"I guess so..." Which led right back to the awkward situation at hand.
