Somewhere in the meaty halls of Stacy, a wall opened, ejecting a disgruntled woman onto the deck. She sprang to her feet and directed a stream of invective (mainly in Mandarin) at the wall, followed by an ineffective kick. She'd lost track of time in there (not unusual) and now was back aboard the strange spirit-ship. Not that she'd really left before. With a last muttered curse, she turned and stormed down the hallway. She needed to find out what happened while she was gone. Hopefully, not terribly much.

Nightmare becomes reality....

It had taken a short while, but she had managed to recover the all important PDA afrom within the weapons and possessions lockers. It wasn't simply an electronic tool, but a fetish. An items that would aid her in her attempts to breach the spirit world here on Stacy. Miriam had found a deserted building (not hard to do, really) in the city and set up there, carefully preparing for her excursion. She wasn't certain that it would work, or even if it did work, what would happen. She spaced her fetishes out, setting the laptop to one side as she fiddled with her PDA, preparing it for the spiritual jaunt. At last, she laid out the small hand mirror she had taken from W&P. This was the most important piece of entering the Umbra. 'Stepping sideways' as it was called required focus, a clear mind, and a reflective surface.

The PDA fetish would help with that as well. Contained within was a Weaver spirit, a pattern spider, which would help collect and catalog information on any spirits she might come into contact with. In addition it gave the tiny device the processing power of a top-end computer and storage space so vast it might as well be limitless. She took a breath and cleared her mind, eyes focusing on the mirror as she began to attempt to cross over. She frowned as she found the resistance to her attempt firmer than she was used to, and focused her mind, giving a little extra push. To an observer, she would simply vanish from sight as she slipped at last into the spirit world on board the massive ship.
