WHUMPF.

In one of the lost rooms, a costumed teenager is being flown across a grassy hill like a particularly colorful projectile. He lands hard on the ground, tumbling over and over into the mud, and then, with a grunt, gets back up.

"Goddamn tree's putting the ig on me." Punchy wipes dirt off his face and spits a piece of grass (and possibly a tooth) out. "Let's see how you like getting stomped topwise by a real OG."

The Whomping Willow spreads its two largest branches wide, as if to say 'come at me, bro'. Punchy rushes headfirst at it, trying to think of some witty or scathing put-down to throw at this uppity piece of lumber, and instead only coming up with 'take that!' - and getting tossed, once again across the room and into the earth.

If anyone walks in on him lying facedown in the mud, he's totally just playing dead and going to get the Willow off-guard. Really.

Soren thought this was all very amusing. He watched Punchy playing dead in the mud, a smug look on his face.

[nunpunching]

Punchy opens one eye and glances up at Soren. Go figure. His tool of a roommate.

"Don't bother helping a brother get a step up. I got this shit." Mostly, he just doesn't want Soren showing him up with his magic wind powers.

[facepunching]

"Of course you do. Please, resume your quarrel with the nearby flora." Soren was just going to... stand here and watch.

Heh heh heh.

Punchy glances over at the tree, seeing that it's at rest, and in an exaggeratedly sneaky manner, gets to his knees and then his feet. He shifts his eyes over to Soren, then back to the tree, and runs straight at the Whomping Willow.

The Willow whips a vine out and grabs him, swinging him a bit before dangling him in the air a few feet above Soren.

Soren might help Punchy.

"Um, I don't think the dirt will hug back no matter how much affection you show it," the pony said from somewhere up above.

[nunpunching]

"I ain't hugging. I'm just...copping it while I rev." Punchy whispers as if the tree's going to hear his diabolical plan. "I'm gonna bust a move at it once he's all flossing."

The dialect didn't translate at all, but she got the meaning of it. "So... you're losing a fight with a tree."

"I ain't getting trounced or nothing. I'm recharging the batz before acing him in round two. Duh." Granted, Punchy's still not getting up.

"So you lost the fight with the tree so badly you had to call it the first round, because you couldn't keep going for a moment."

Rainbow Dash was probably the most blunt of all ponies.

"Hey! Wake up, sleepyhead!" Came a new voice. "That's a weird place to take a nap!"

[nunpunching]

"I ain't napping, I'm just..." Punchy lowers his voice. "Riding the relaxation train to some bomb-ass victory."

[mylittlelolny]

"Riding a train? That's silly! We're on a spaceship, not a train!" Pinkie insisted. "And there's not a train station around for miles!"

[nunpunching]

"Just a saying, homegirl. And there's a train station right down on the streets." Punchy flails a finger around as if to point at where he thinks the city is. "I'm getting ready to ace this mofo."

Pinkie obediently looked in the direction Punchy randomly pointed towards. "Ohhh. But that's still pretty far away if you have a train to catch! What's a mofo?"

"Ya know dude, when they call it "Tree hugging I don't think the trees are supposed to fight back."

Beastboy had wandered in (because what else did he do all day but troll the Sensoriums?) and watched the last few minutes of the scene.

"This tree be stepping. I was here first!" Which is patently untrue because duh, tree.

[changelingdude]

"How rude!" Beastboy laughed playing along. He shook a fist at the tree halfheartedly, "YOUR MOTHER WAS A CHRISTMAS TREE!"

I loled.

[nunpunching]

"And I turned her lights on all night long!"

Punchy is not the best at witty banter.

Beastboy offered a hand to help Punchy up out of the mud. "What exactly is the point to this?" If it was just training then Beastboy could give Punchy credit for creativity.

"Did it ever occur to you to just...stop provoking it?" Jamie posited from his position a safe distance away from the homicidal tree and Punchy, wearing his very best 'I know this is a doomed effort but am compelled to try anyway' expression.

[nunpunching]

"He started fronting on me first!" Punchy gets up and dusts himself off, or, rather, smears mud around his arms some more. "I can't back down now!"

"Why can't you?" Jamie glanced from Punchy to the Willow, which was just sitting there, looking tree-like, if somewhat belligerent. "It's a tree. What's it going to do if you just turn around and walk away? Uproot itself and come after you?"

Not, Jamie had to admit, that this was a completely unlikely scenario aboard Stacy.

Dignity that will clearly be protected by getting his ass kicked by a tree. What now, Jamie?
