Jinx hadn't been to this cafe yet, she was aware of it as much as anything else on the ship but so far it was one of the few places she hadn't explored first hand. But Diana was a perfect excuse to see if it was worth the price of admission (free).

She had spent a fair amount of time in cafe's and diners back on her own world in her own universe. It was a peaceful escape from her own team mates where she could have some coffee or a soda, a slice of pie and just people watch. Sometimes she would draw, sometimes she would listen to music and marvel at how easy it was for a girl with pink hair and eyes to blend into the back round of other peoples lives.

It was a necessity as well. Jinx's powers as wonderful and helpful as they were for most of her life seemed to have one major flaw. Any time she tried to cook something more complicated then a bowl of cereal or a sandwich something went horribly wrong. She'd been thrown out of her Home Ec. Class at Hive Academy because of one particularly messy incident involving an automatic mixer and the instructors ponytail.

So making other people cook for her was much easier and more satisfying. A life of petty crime afforded her more then enough to live off the culinary skills of other people.

Back in the moment Jinx scanned the entrance way to see if she should seat herself, or wait to be seated.

Jinx chuckled, "You've got an odd selection of morals but I can't disagree with em." She grinned. Of course she always got great joy out of bullying but that didn't mean she couldn't appreciate a challenge.

"I just get bored if things are too easy."

"Then however do you keep entertained around here?" Jinx asked with a chuckle. After all other then the missions things were pretty laid back on Stacy...when they weren't having a random robot invasion.

"I've been bored out of my skull since getting here. I've run out of systems to run diagnostics on and I've found out the glop they serve as food most of the time does not make an effective lubricant."

"That's...unfortunate." Jinx remarked not bothering to ask why that question even came up.

"I've watched more TV in the last few months then I EVER watched back home." She confessed. These days when she wasn't training or exploring she was alternating between various media players and their programs.

And Diana of course.

"What's TV?"

Maria was pretty ignorant when it came to media, or entertainment as most of her life was either having her robot smash something, fixing her robot, or sitting through some some formal event. With any luck, this TV wasn't some formal event.

"Oh." Jinx didn't sound disappointed just understanding. "Stories told with moving pictures and sounds on a screen." That seemed like the easiest way to explain it. Who didn't like a good story?

"Big screens and such? I think they excavated those in some of the deeper ruins on my world."

"Sometimes. Bigger is usually better because you get more immersed in the story, but sometimes a small screen is all you need. People were obsessed with stories in my world."

"There were some people on Solaris like that on my world, but most people were more concerned with things like eating. Sounds like your world was infinitely less shitty than mine."

"Sounds like." Jinx agreed, "That isn't to say it was perfect, we had our problems. But I was lucky enough to live in a part of the world that had decadence available to those who could afford it, or people like me who could take it."

"Seems like you turned out fine from it anyways."

Maria shrugs a bit.

"That and it sounds like taking it is the only way to keep from ending up a slug. Probably a lot of unthinking sheep there... Er, no offense. Just that whole bread and circus thing tends to lead to that."

"No offense taken. There are a ton of sheep." She joked and sipped her drink as it was refilled. "And then there are people like me. I'd like to think I use my not sheepishness to my advantage. Though around here there's only so much I can do in that department."

"So are the shepherds as annoying as I suspect they are there? And as for this place, this place talks a lot of stuff, but there's just a ton of sitting around and nothing."

"So annoying." Jinx confirmed.

"And that comes down to us. What we do with the time give us. It's kind of like we've been given some paper, and only certain colors and tools to make a picture with." She mused.

"That's a really good way of viewing it. So who do we have to punch in the gut for more colors?"

"I'm guessing that punching is your default method." she teased with amusement twinkling in her sharp pink eyes.

"I freely admit I do not do subtle well. Back home when there was a complex plot, I was usually the diversion."

"There's no shame in it. Pick a specialty and be the best at it that's what gets results." She smirked thinking back to her own muscle bound punch first ask questions later minion back home.

"I'm great at planning large campaigns and sieges. Sneaking just never felt right."

Maria thought back to all her elaborate plans that the council deemed to be too dangerous and that her grandfather never would back her up on and sighed.

"Hmmm? Shaking up memories of old regrets?" Jinx teased half guessing what had inspired the sigh from her new associate.

"Not really, just know it alls that got upset whenever I wanted to be proactive about things. Blah blah blah... To dangerous... You know the type, right?"

"Oh absolutely. But I've always believed it's better to do things first and ask forgiveness later then to Ask first and be shot down."

"True, but they had access to the barrier codes so I couldn't really get OUT. It was almost a jail in an irritating way."

"Ugh, don't get me started on prison." Jinx laughed with good humor. "I've been in and out so many times it's like I have my own keys."
