Stupid cloud! Stupid ship! Stupid laws of physics!

Three attempts in and this had not been going well.

Outside the transport tubes in the city hovered one pegasus pony, staring in irritation at said tubes. One hoof rested on what was unmistakably a cloud -- a puffy, friendly-looking white cloud, just the right size to make a comfy napping spot for a pegasus who, well, really liked napping.

"You stupid tube tentacle... things!" she said, expecting that the ship would somehow respond. "Let me take the cloud up to that Hydro-whatsit place!"

"You'd be surprised as to what humans can and can't do. They're... versatile, and full of things you would have never thought they could do. I've certainly been caught off guard before by them." And paid dearly, but that's another story not relevant at the moment.

"Oh yeah? What happened?" It just became relevant to a curious Rainbow Dash, who hopped down off of the cloud to join her on the floor.

"I got killed for it." Ahri said nonchalantly as if it was the most normal thing ever.

Rainbow Dash stared at her a moment. She would've laughed at this normally, but her sense of what was silly and what was possible was all topsy-turvy now.

"You.... look kind of alive."

"I am~ You see, while we're in the Fields of Justice, a Champion can be brought back to life countless times until the match is over. So we get to experience the... wonderful feeling of being torn to bits over, and over, and over again..." she said the last bit with a sarcastic hint, but she simply shrugged it off and looked back to the pony as she played with a lock from her hair.

"That's HORRIBLE!" Dash leaped off the cloud, swooping down near Ahri to throw her head back and puff out her chest in challenge. "Who did that to you? I'll make sure they never do it again!"

"That would be interesting to see considering the state of our worlds... It doesn't matter for now, what's important is what's in front of us at the moment. I do appreciate the sentiment~"

"You sure? None of them are here, right?" Let her at them if they were! She'd teach THEM a thing or two about pain! "Nopony should have to go through something like that."

"Not that I know of, no. And believe me, if they were here? They'd let it be known. Most Champions aren't know for their... humbleness." She was pretty sure the good majority of them would have made a big scene.

She smiled at the pegasus, "I appreciate your concern, it's nice to see someone with that attitude."

"EVERYpony should have that attitude!" she said, snorting angrily as she pawed the ground. "Nopony should be forced into anything like that. If they want you to do something for them, they should make it worth your while... and nothing's worth THAT while!"

Ahri simply smiled, "Different world, different rules I suppose. Nothing to get frustrated about here considering there's not much to do. Now that you mention it. How was your world like?" She asked curiously.

"Equestria? Well, we didn't have any of THAT stuff, for one," she said, still bothered by it. "Ponies were in charge of everything. Everyone seems to think that's weird though, but pegasi controlled the weather, earth ponies tended to the fields, unicorns did the seasons and the magic. It worked great."

"Ponies you say?" looking interested and confused at the same time. "So this land, Equestria was it? It's controlled by magical creatures then?" She had to admit, a place that was run by a bunch of magical creatures seemed like an interesting place to visit, though not one particularly exciting to live in.

"Only unicorns use magic," she said. "And winged unicorns, the Princesses raise the sun and moon. Earth ponies and pegasi don't need magic to do what they do!"

"Well, considering you said that you managed the weather, that would be magic as well, or supernatural abilities. In any case, it seems like an interesting place from what you are saying."

"Equestria's great!" She'd calmed down and put her anger aside, not that she was still happy over what'd happened to her friend. "So... aside from the you-know, what was your home like?"

Ahri smiled, she liked that she had started smiling, that was a much better look to the kind looking pegasus than aggravated. At the question though, she tapped her chin and crossed her other arm over her chest as she thought.

"Well, it was immense, for one. And there's always wars, nowadays much, much less than before the league got established, but there's always fighting in one way or another between the city states. It is also both a vastly magical world, and technological as well, but a different kind from what I've seen here."

"Always war? That's terrible. Why can't everypony get along?" It was a naive view, possibly, to any creature who didn't celebrate yearly the day when everypony HAD put aside their differences and started working together, leading to the relative utopia that was Equestria.

"Because everyone has their own desires, their aspirations and their goals. And they'll do anything to achieve them. That's just how most worlds work it seems." Ahri shrugged, this was the norm for her so she was used to it all.

"Doesn't mean they have to kill each other over it." Rainbow sighed. "Humans aren't as used to working together as ponies are, huh?"

"Depends on the location really. There's some places where working together is not only key, it's a way of life and people live peacefully and such. Then there are others where strength is valued above all else and people fight for the right of dominance. The strongest survive and thrive over the weak. It's really just different cultures."

"See, Equestria's like the first one. A long time ago, ponies used to not get along and only be out for themselves, but when Equestria was founded, all ponies came together in harmony to make a better place for themselves!"

Admittedly, it had been helpful to have the Windigos causing trouble, but they weren't the reason the ponies had become friends.

"I see, so a time of troubles caused them to grow together and set the records straight. Interesting. As I said before, your world seems like it'd be an interesting place to visit."

Just not one to live in, not for someone like Ahri anyways.

"Pretty much, yeah. We celebrate that every year, actually. Equestria's a great place. Maybe you'll be able to come there when all this is over!" she said, hopeful.

"I'd certainly like to, if only for a little while. I do enjoyexploring and getting to know new places. There's so much out there, you'd need many lifetimes to be able to experience it all."
