Sobek the Immortal: Bringing a God to His Knees [Closed]
Who: Daniel Jackson, Vala Mal Doran, Eva, The Master, Eleventh Doctor, Jamie McCrimmon
Where: Kalimba (planet side)
Summary: A small crew goes on an archaeological expedition to a jungle planet, where System Lord was imprisoned. Taking Daniel as his host, he captures the crew and tortures them, while rebuilding his fleet.
Warnings: Violence, torture, gore
((Part One and Part Two here))
As time drew on, there was no sign of Stacy, rescue parties or of a single landing pods. The typhoon season approached closer with each day, rain and wind spattering the leaves on some days, varying between intense heat and humidity on other days. The megafauna in the jungles had grown more active too. The earth rumbled under their feet as they starting their migration amidst hooting calls and croaks. Throughout the varying weather, one thing remained constant. The hive of activity around the three step pyramids never ceased, slaves either taking shifts or in the most fanatical cases, working themselves near to death or to death. It was like this all across Kalimba. The call had gone out with the instructions for the slaves: work was to begin on restoring the Crocodile God's fleets underneath each step pyramid all across the planet. They were his Chosen, his Children, and he would ensure they were rewarded for their faith.
The complex swarmed with slaves and guards moving weapons and parts. Sobek and his personal guards were also in and out more often as the fleet began to take shape, often traveling to other sites to check on progress. Stones fell away from each ship as far as the eye could see. More and more of each ha'tak was revealed, while lines of human bodies went inside to work on the interiors. If the number of step pyramids that towered through the jungle were any indication, his fleet would be massive.
((same as Part 2: run your own posts with each other, more private threads with Sobek are available at the start. Part 3 does not have to immediately include end-plot stuff. If you want more CR amongst each other or your character being messed with by Sobek, please do!))

Everything was as it should be. After thousands of years, he would take what was his and he would have no equal. "The day you ascend and rejoin the Gods has come at least. I would have your thoughts before you leave the mortal plane."
What did she desire as her first act as a vessel? He was in a generous mood today, and would consider granting it. Vengeance? Riches? The subjugation of a particular planet? Sobek desired too to see what she felt at being given the second chance: most slaves did not get another chance to become a God, but Vala was special. What must it be like to be favored by something so above your station?

"You'll have all my thoughts as soon as you've taken me. But if you must know I'm on the edge of my seat with anticipation." It was ambiguous, neither sarcastic nor genuine. The corner of her lips turned up and she half smirked, half smiled. Her thoughts were hers, and she was damned if she was sharing anything before she had to.
"You'll let Daniel live, that's all I ask."

The System Lord would not risk Daniel interfering during the transfer yet he he wasn't an ungracious God. He would not leave the human without a gift for his services. He would grant a final mercy to his vessel. It would be escape from what drove him. Sobek would help him escape Sha're and what he would really find at the end of the chase, if he ever did find her.
Sobek pressed himself even closer to Vala and cupping her face in both hands, brought their faces close, and lips just short of touching. The hand with the ribbon device slid past her cheek and to her neck. Fingers knotting in her hair, Sobek held her fast. The Hour had arrived. He was finally strong enough to complete the process of a swift jump without risk to himself. Sobek began to disengage himself from Daniel's brain and spinal chord. With each unwind, Daniel could feel more of his body return to him, and with it, his heart wanted to beat faster and faster with fear. He had no control of his voice. No way to warn Vala. Sobek did the opposite, right before he unwound himself and his tendrils. The God gave the order to shut his heart down completely.
The Crocodile God moved quickly then, striking out even swiftly before he could have the body die out from under him. He was already exiting his former vessel's mouth and crossing the brief ripple of air on his body, entering Vala's mouth and the back of her throat when Daniel's heart shuddered to a stop.

Vala's faith was completely in the hands of the Doctor as the moment drew near, and even that was tenuous. She didn't think it would work, everything in her subconscious screamed at her that she was making the worst decision of her life. Her own heart beat in time with Daniel's racing heart. She tried to hold back any trembling, but if truth be known Vala was more frightened than she'd ever been. When Qetesh had taken her, it had been incidental, not knowing it was about to happen. This was different, she was willingly offering herself. She drew short panicked breaths right up until the point the goa'uld slid down her throat and half choked her.
It wasn't going to work, she wanted her innate optimism to kick in so she could face this down with her trademark blazé attitude but as the Goa'uld slid into her, Vala panicked and tried to rip the thing from inside her mouth before it embedded itself and was beyond reach.
A desperate hand shoved itself into her mouth trying to grab the tail end before it disappeared completely. She'd wanted to do this with dignity, but her own fears took over turned her into a hysterical mess.
She hadn't stopped to check on Daniel, Vala was on her knees and choking on her own hand as Sobek slipped beyond her grasp.

Daniel's legs gave out from under him. The archaeologist hit the ground heavily and lay still in a heap.
Sobek wasted no time in wrapped himself around Vala's spine and began the task of taking her completely. This was different than when he had taken Daniel, no mad rush to grab control of the first host offered with a body weakened from his prison. He stole control of her hands first, then took his time with the rest, taking her voice, her heart and breathing... his mind began to join with hers, all the memories and shared thoughts he'd had with all his hosts, his desires. They drifted and swam in a haze.
She need not concern herself with the slave, he thought, his former host already a brief footnote. He'd given him one last gift. More than a Tau'ri deserved, and there were bigger and better things in store. She would see the glory of his empire. She would be richly rewarded. He would have no lack of battles and bodies to go through. The memory of them drifted up from Sobek, offered to Vala. He practically salivated at just the anticipation.
Mine at last, came the Crocodile's greed singing out. The Time has come upon all. I am the last of the System Lords

He had no intention of letting Daniel live, it was the first of his thoughts she found herself with access to as he observed 'the slave' before them, that and his 'gift' to him. She was an idiot to ever trust a Goa'uld's word. How could she have been so foolish? Did she not know better? Vala didn't hesitate to share her own secret in return as his egotistical thoughts postured his own glory.
She might not be able to do anything, but she didn't hesitate to let him know what he'd walked into. A last final 'fuck you', a phrase that even now she briefly thanked Cam for. Even if it failed he would know that she had betrayed him.

The Crocodile God raged suddenly, thrashing about in his new vessel. A black fury bubbled out from him, thoughts of blood and flesh, hers, rent from her face and arms, swelled up, thousands of ways he would make her suffer. He would kill her. He would take a temporary host, he would make her plead for death and withhold that mercy, he would do far worse to her than any of the punishment mete out to his followers, and when he was done, he would mount her remains for all his Children to see!
More than anything, he would not die. Even he couldn't stop the fear that lay under the surface or the panic. Sobek began to hastily unwind himself as fast as he could, desiring more than anything to get out from the toxic body, and in the process, releasing more and more control back to Vala.

She had to wait and back off. Wait to see if the poison paralysed Sobek completely before she could even dare to go near Daniel. Vala managed a few steps away, all the while trying to ignore the Goa'uld and work out what to do.
The sarcophagus, it wasn't ideal. The knowledge of Eva's experience with it flooded into her mind from Sobek. Painful, excruciating - but functional. Daniel probably wouldn't thank her, but she hadn't gone through this to let him die. She still didn't know if she'd survive this, but she could guarantee one of them would. She would pose as Sobek, meeting no resistance from his Jaffa or followers. She'd pulled it off before, posing as Qetesh. How was this any different?

In one last spasm, the System Lord tried to break free, but by then, it was too late; he was paralyzed in place, with nowhere to go but the Abyss, which opened itself up and claimed him.
The Crocodile God was at killed at last not by any other God, but by the hands of slaves.

Only the cold stone of the wall behind her stopped her backing off. As Sobek lived his last desperate moments, still clinging to his own denial, Vala slid down the wall in exhaustion and clung to her knees as she felt him fade into nothing.
The poison had taken him. Vala was carrying a dead goa'uld inside her, the same goa'uld that had tried to tear apart everything she had and still could. It left a burning cold heat inside her, a painful anaesthetic of sorts that seemed to numb her spine. Only it wasn't numb, it felt like it was burning, seeping into her nerve endings. Was this supposed to happen? Was she in danger herself?
There was no time to stop and consider though, she had a job to do. Possibly the most important one she'd ever have to do. Once she was sure Sobek was dead, Vala went to retrieve the ribbon device from Daniel. She just hadn't expected to get caught by her own emotions as she neared him. The sight of him lying there, helpless and lifeless and Vala's tears spilled over without hesitation. She brushed the hair from his face, softly caressing his face. "If this doesn't work, then you can blame me when you ascend. Because you will, you've done it before. In the future. You have to ascend Daniel, please. Because I can't live knowing I killed you." The words were choked out in a whisper, tears streaming down her face.
She took a few moments and then rose to her feet, ribbon device on her own hand.
"Jaffa Kree!" She shouted towards the doors with acid tones, hoping those on guard would know of the planned transfer and obey her command. They would take Daniel to the sarcophagus, and she would play the part of a Goa'uld one more time. Despite the acidlike burning inside her, Vala stood tall. If no-one came, she would have to find the strength to drag him there herself, and she would.

Outside the air was filled with the roar of engines. One after another lifted higher into the air. In the distance, several had breached the atmosphere, becoming nothing more than pin pricks of light as the rest planet-wide rose to join them. As soon as enough had cleared Kalimba, the Gallifreyan and Goa'uld merge of technologies would be activated. The fleet would go out.
Vala's call was quickly answered. The two Jaffa, the remnants of the Crocodile's Honor Guard that had not departed for their pyramid ship, pushed open the doors and looked upon the scene before them. The deed was done. Their God had taken on a new form, more fair and more terrible than the last. With this change, their Lord would lead them to victory.
Setting their staffs heavily on the ground, they inclined their heads to their God, the stylized helmets dipping. What was their God's desire?

"He will be revived, I am not finished with him yet." She instructed them, weighting her voice with as much of that throaty goa'uld edge as possible. Without her device that she used as Qetesh, she couldn't imitate the Goa'uld voice, but perhaps their God liked Vala's voice and would use it more.
The dark haired woman strode towards the doorway confidently, eyeing the Jaffa for any suspicion as she passed them.
"Follow." Came out the final instruction as she reached the doors. "Shor'wai'e! Yas! Yas!" She barked to hurry them up.

They were halfway to the chamber with the sarcophagus when the first of the fleet malfunctioned. Even from the limited view of the stone windows, it was becoming clear that something was wrong. The sky began to darken. One ship suddenly vanished into the Time Vortex, the rest left behind in this time and space, falling to earth with a great crash. The ground quaked. The chanting outside turned to screams of terror and disbelief.
The Jaffa were nearly thrown off balance from the nearby impact, almost dropping the slave in their surprise. They turned as one, the only thing staying their panic was their belief in the System Lord. They looked desperately then towards the God for answers, for direction. What was happening? They didn't know their Lord's Will or its depths, but even they knew that this wasn't meant to happen! What was going on and how would their Lord stop it? He must! He was a God.

Her panic wasn't for the choas outside, it was for Daniel. They hadn't banked on needing extra precious time for reviving him, the process wouldn't be quick, but they couldn't leave until it was done. Regardless of how fast the chaos and raining debris of explosions was progressing outside, this detour was now necessary.
A secondary explosion seemed to come from directly underneath them as if the ground was cracking and threatening to open up and swallow them. Vala steadied herself against the gold ornate walls for a moment. The next doorway ahead opened up and a patrol of four Jaffa stood with staff weapons ready, lower ranking Jaffa that by the looks of it did not know of their God's new vessel. The staff weapons were ready and aimed directly at Vala.
It would only take an angry flash of her eyes to subdue them if she really was their God, but that wasn't possible. There wasn't time to spin elaborate lies either, she had to think on her feet, which given the weakness that grew inside her as the poison spread wasn't easy. It was hard to see with clarity never mind think. She raised the hand with the device and threw the first Jaffa stumbling backwards until he was pinned to the wall by the orange beam of light and energy.
"You will pay for your insolence to your God." With a twist of her hand and an intensified attack, her hand fell back to her side and the Jaffa fell to the floor in writhing agony. She hadn't given it a second thought, but the display would be enough for them to progress without hinderance hopefully.

The Jaffa cried out, and the ones carrying Daniel looked once again to their God, who did nothing to stop this, nothing to save his forces from being destroyed. A God's whim could allow his followers destroyed, but these were the very instruments of his Will in the sky, all falling one by one! He must stop it!
Another ship fell to the jungle, a larger piece this time. It was enough. The Jaffa had deserted her in that moment, wildly looking for a way out. There God would not save them in this hour. Vala was left alone with Daniel's body on the floor.
There was no place to run with Kalimba devouring itself.

It was just her and Daniel and a planet that didn't have that long by the looks of the skies and the surrounding chaos. She'd had no idea the damage would be so consuming, she'd expected the ships to go down but this was apocalyptic by the sound of it.
The cold burning sensation was showing no signs of fading either, Vala didn't know how long she could safely carry the poisoned goa'uld but it was becoming more and more apparent that there was definitely a time limit. Pure adrenaline would complete the task ahead, even as she hoisted Daniel's dead weight up and hooked her arms under his to drag him she didn't stop to think of him as dead or at how impossible this task alone would be.
The entire planet was in the midst of its destruction, Vala was dragging a man that weighed far more than her single handedly down a hallway and she decided the best option was to throw sarcasm at him. "Remind me to install wheels on your ass when we get back to Stacy! If this ever happens again it'll be much easier!"
The sarcophagus chamber wasn't far now. Two more turns and they should be there.

It was just as much a struggle to get Daniel lifted up and into the sarcophagus. The lid slid closed, the same as it had before. Yet this time with Kalimba ending above them, it seemed too slow.

Once closed she slumped over the top of it, not even mustering the energy to sit down next to it. If she sat, she feared she'd never get up again. There wasn't much time, the sarcophagus buzzed beneath her making far more noise than any she'd seen or used previously. It worried her, was it doing its job properly? The seconds seemed to last minutes and the minutes felt like an hour. Her head resting on its lid, she felt herself drifting into an exhaustion drugged sleep. Each time fighting to keep her eyes open before they threatened to flutter closed again. The machine made a sudden thudding noise from beneath her which roused her into alert mode again. Was it done? She had no idea how much time had passed, or was it simply malfunctioning?
Her questions were answered when she saw the crack in the floor of the chamber, it hadn't been the sarcophagus at all. The room around them was starting to open up like a chasm, at first just a hairline crack but it wouldn't be long until they were swallowed up with it. She could see the gap widening even as she stood watching with a rising urgency.
"Daniel?" She shouted, not even considering he wouldn't be able to hear her. It must have been long enough now? These things needed digital progess displays on the outside she thought. Turning back to the crack in the floor it had already spread by a few inches just in the time she'd turned her back on it.
There was no other choice, Vala pushed at the mechanism to open it, banging it with a panicked fist and waited.

The device opened reluctantly, too early, letting out a thin hiss of cold air. Daniel lay there, as pale as he had been going in, but blue eyes cracked open blearily. He was alive. He was supposed to be dead. His heart thudded sluggishly in his chest, every single beat making itself uncomfortably known. His breath rattled then began to even out.
His eyes found Vala standing over him. And everything rushed back. Not Vala. The Crocodile God looming instead. Sobek had taken her and discarded him like an old set of clothes. Oh God. She was his now and as it turned out, the God wasn't done with him. The fear began to blossom into a panicked terror. He'd only mentioned the possibility to Howard back on the dig, that you could use the sarcophagus as something else, like a method or torture, but now it looked like he was about to experience it in full. Sobek would torture him until it killed him, resurrect him and do the same, over and over. Vala would have to see all of it.
Daniel tried to wildly push her away, but the cycle had been interrupted too early. His hand hit the sarcophagus limply.

To someone who thought she was Sobek, it was probably incredibly disconcerting to put it mildly.
"Well?!" She asked impatiently when the only response she received was a pathetic hand movement. "Can you move? Or do you need longer? Because if you do, it's not really an option."
no subject
Daniel had been with Sobek long enough and intimately enough to know what he was thinking. The look on Vala's face was something he could never pull off. Or at least, that's what he was hoping for. The System Lord had proven himself disturbingly adept at using his body as a weapon, and his mannerisms, so why not Vala? But he would have figured the Crocodile God to have a look of arrogance and triumph plastered all over that mouth if it was him, along with the darker twisting need for rending and tearing that had lurked in them both for months.
He didn't think he saw it in Vala. Why would Sobek need him alive or moving quickly? He should have all the time in the world. Daniel fumbled at obeying. He turned his hands towards gripping the sarcophagus edge, clumsily pulling up himself and slowly, out. That was where his control faltered. Daniel ended up barely clearing the device in something that was more of an uncontrolled stagger. The ornate train and gold that clung to his hips weren't helping.
"You're you?" Daniel asked, voice small and hoarse.
no subject
"Yes I'm me. At least I hope I'm me, I can't be sure if he's unconscious or dead. But I'm me for now." Explanations, she's great at them. "We need to get out of here, Daniel and fast. I'll explain on the way." Vala slung his arm over her shoulder and immediately started towards the door even as the crack opened up more at the far side of the room. It was spreading up the wall and threatening to split the entire room in two. Hopefully he'd find his feet sooner rather than later, because she wasn't sure how long she could take his weight for like this.
