Sobek the Immortal: Bringing a God to His Knees [Closed]

Who: Daniel Jackson, Vala Mal Doran, Eva, The Master, Eleventh Doctor, Jamie McCrimmon
Where: Kalimba (planet side)
Summary: A small crew goes on an archaeological expedition to a jungle planet, where System Lord was imprisoned. Taking Daniel as his host, he captures the crew and tortures them, while rebuilding his fleet.
Warnings: Violence, torture, gore

((Part One and Part Two here))

As time drew on, there was no sign of Stacy, rescue parties or of a single landing pods. The typhoon season approached closer with each day, rain and wind spattering the leaves on some days, varying between intense heat and humidity on other days. The megafauna in the jungles had grown more active too. The earth rumbled under their feet as they starting their migration amidst hooting calls and croaks. Throughout the varying weather, one thing remained constant. The hive of activity around the three step pyramids never ceased, slaves either taking shifts or in the most fanatical cases, working themselves near to death or to death. It was like this all across Kalimba. The call had gone out with the instructions for the slaves: work was to begin on restoring the Crocodile God's fleets underneath each step pyramid all across the planet. They were his Chosen, his Children, and he would ensure they were rewarded for their faith.

The complex swarmed with slaves and guards moving weapons and parts. Sobek and his personal guards were also in and out more often as the fleet began to take shape, often traveling to other sites to check on progress. Stones fell away from each ship as far as the eye could see. More and more of each ha'tak was revealed, while lines of human bodies went inside to work on the interiors. If the number of step pyramids that towered through the jungle were any indication, his fleet would be massive.

((same as Part 2: run your own posts with each other, more private threads with Sobek are available at the start. Part 3 does not have to immediately include end-plot stuff. If you want more CR amongst each other or your character being messed with by Sobek, please do!))

It was excruciating, the pain as the poison worked its magic and infected every one of Sobek's cells, she felt everything. But still she backed away from Daniel, somehow managing to maintain her stance and not double up and writhe on the floor in agony. Distancing herself was the most important thing, while there was still a chance he could jump vessels again, Vala did everything in her hazy state to stop it. Whatever reserves she was drawing from to do this were serving her well. She could collapse later, but not now. Not while Daniel lay there.

Only the cold stone of the wall behind her stopped her backing off. As Sobek lived his last desperate moments, still clinging to his own denial, Vala slid down the wall in exhaustion and clung to her knees as she felt him fade into nothing.

The poison had taken him. Vala was carrying a dead goa'uld inside her, the same goa'uld that had tried to tear apart everything she had and still could. It left a burning cold heat inside her, a painful anaesthetic of sorts that seemed to numb her spine. Only it wasn't numb, it felt like it was burning, seeping into her nerve endings. Was this supposed to happen? Was she in danger herself?

There was no time to stop and consider though, she had a job to do. Possibly the most important one she'd ever have to do. Once she was sure Sobek was dead, Vala went to retrieve the ribbon device from Daniel. She just hadn't expected to get caught by her own emotions as she neared him. The sight of him lying there, helpless and lifeless and Vala's tears spilled over without hesitation. She brushed the hair from his face, softly caressing his face. "If this doesn't work, then you can blame me when you ascend. Because you will, you've done it before. In the future. You have to ascend Daniel, please. Because I can't live knowing I killed you." The words were choked out in a whisper, tears streaming down her face.

She took a few moments and then rose to her feet, ribbon device on her own hand.

"Jaffa Kree!" She shouted towards the doors with acid tones, hoping those on guard would know of the planned transfer and obey her command. They would take Daniel to the sarcophagus, and she would play the part of a Goa'uld one more time. Despite the acidlike burning inside her, Vala stood tall. If no-one came, she would have to find the strength to drag him there herself, and she would.

There was nothing about Vala that betrayed her, she stood with the self assured arrogance that only their God would. The poison in her system felt like it would consume her, tingling through her nerve endings like slowly spreading molten mercury, it dizzied her but time was short both for Daniel and herself she feared.

"He will be revived, I am not finished with him yet." She instructed them, weighting her voice with as much of that throaty goa'uld edge as possible. Without her device that she used as Qetesh, she couldn't imitate the Goa'uld voice, but perhaps their God liked Vala's voice and would use it more.

The dark haired woman strode towards the doorway confidently, eyeing the Jaffa for any suspicion as she passed them.

"Follow." Came out the final instruction as she reached the doors. "Shor'wai'e! Yas! Yas!" She barked to hurry them up.

The first explosion was deafening, the metal from the ship must have come raining down fairly close to them and Vala knew the window of opportunity for Daniel was tiny now. It all seemed to swim for Vala, the poison in her system making her more disoriented as time passed, yet she trudged on. Long strides along the corridors. When the Jaffa nearly fell, fumbling with their precious load Vala snapped at them to hurry again. "Yas! Yas!"

Her panic wasn't for the choas outside, it was for Daniel. They hadn't banked on needing extra precious time for reviving him, the process wouldn't be quick, but they couldn't leave until it was done. Regardless of how fast the chaos and raining debris of explosions was progressing outside, this detour was now necessary.

A secondary explosion seemed to come from directly underneath them as if the ground was cracking and threatening to open up and swallow them. Vala steadied herself against the gold ornate walls for a moment. The next doorway ahead opened up and a patrol of four Jaffa stood with staff weapons ready, lower ranking Jaffa that by the looks of it did not know of their God's new vessel. The staff weapons were ready and aimed directly at Vala.

It would only take an angry flash of her eyes to subdue them if she really was their God, but that wasn't possible. There wasn't time to spin elaborate lies either, she had to think on her feet, which given the weakness that grew inside her as the poison spread wasn't easy. It was hard to see with clarity never mind think. She raised the hand with the device and threw the first Jaffa stumbling backwards until he was pinned to the wall by the orange beam of light and energy.

"You will pay for your insolence to your God." With a twist of her hand and an intensified attack, her hand fell back to her side and the Jaffa fell to the floor in writhing agony. She hadn't given it a second thought, but the display would be enough for them to progress without hinderance hopefully.

There was little point in trying to call them back. They fled like rats in flooding sewers, so much for their loyalty. There seemed little point in keeping up the act and ordering them back, she didn't have the energy anyway after using the hand device.

It was just her and Daniel and a planet that didn't have that long by the looks of the skies and the surrounding chaos. She'd had no idea the damage would be so consuming, she'd expected the ships to go down but this was apocalyptic by the sound of it.

The cold burning sensation was showing no signs of fading either, Vala didn't know how long she could safely carry the poisoned goa'uld but it was becoming more and more apparent that there was definitely a time limit. Pure adrenaline would complete the task ahead, even as she hoisted Daniel's dead weight up and hooked her arms under his to drag him she didn't stop to think of him as dead or at how impossible this task alone would be.

The entire planet was in the midst of its destruction, Vala was dragging a man that weighed far more than her single handedly down a hallway and she decided the best option was to throw sarcasm at him. "Remind me to install wheels on your ass when we get back to Stacy! If this ever happens again it'll be much easier!"

The sarcophagus chamber wasn't far now. Two more turns and they should be there.

She'd literally dropped him in after managing to get his weight up there, legs slung in and over the side last. Even one leg seemed to weigh a ton. The sweat dripped off Vala, matted in her hair as she heaved and pushed at the sliding mechanism to try and hurry it up manually.

Once closed she slumped over the top of it, not even mustering the energy to sit down next to it. If she sat, she feared she'd never get up again. There wasn't much time, the sarcophagus buzzed beneath her making far more noise than any she'd seen or used previously. It worried her, was it doing its job properly? The seconds seemed to last minutes and the minutes felt like an hour. Her head resting on its lid, she felt herself drifting into an exhaustion drugged sleep. Each time fighting to keep her eyes open before they threatened to flutter closed again. The machine made a sudden thudding noise from beneath her which roused her into alert mode again. Was it done? She had no idea how much time had passed, or was it simply malfunctioning?

Her questions were answered when she saw the crack in the floor of the chamber, it hadn't been the sarcophagus at all. The room around them was starting to open up like a chasm, at first just a hairline crack but it wouldn't be long until they were swallowed up with it. She could see the gap widening even as she stood watching with a rising urgency.

"Daniel?" She shouted, not even considering he wouldn't be able to hear her. It must have been long enough now? These things needed digital progess displays on the outside she thought. Turning back to the crack in the floor it had already spread by a few inches just in the time she'd turned her back on it.

There was no other choice, Vala pushed at the mechanism to open it, banging it with a panicked fist and waited.

The relief on Vala's face however was definitely not the face of Sobek, if Daniel was with it enough for that to register, that is. The sight of those bright blue eyes staring at her was nothing short of fabulous, she could have cried with happiness if she had either the energy or the time. Instead she simply beamed at him, teeth and adrenaline fuelled relief and emotion grinning down at him.

To someone who thought she was Sobek, it was probably incredibly disconcerting to put it mildly.

"Well?!" She asked impatiently when the only response she received was a pathetic hand movement. "Can you move? Or do you need longer? Because if you do, it's not really an option."

Vala's focus was fading in and out, the drug getting a stronger and stronger hold by the minute. She did manage to help steady Daniel though as he climbed out ever so elegantly. She probably needed him for support as much as he needed her though.

"Yes I'm me. At least I hope I'm me, I can't be sure if he's unconscious or dead. But I'm me for now." Explanations, she's great at them. "We need to get out of here, Daniel and fast. I'll explain on the way." Vala slung his arm over her shoulder and immediately started towards the door even as the crack opened up more at the far side of the room. It was spreading up the wall and threatening to split the entire room in two. Hopefully he'd find his feet sooner rather than later, because she wasn't sure how long she could take his weight for like this.
