This will not be a relic.
A little after the Shodan attack, Mindy would learn that both Sasami and Negi would be repodded, further darkening her mood after all of the fight: no victory, nothing to be really proud of, just a good, swift win. That was life on Stacy, so be it. What was more, for all intent purposes, "Mindy" had to make sure to look broken up about the death of her father, which was obviously not a stretch. But there was something, in her estimation, that needed to be taken care of first and foremost, which was why Ruffnut would notice that there was no Mindy around the castle for the last few days. In fact, Mindy had spent that time in and out of the Juraian Royal Palace, through the permission of Starfire, of course. This was because she was cleaning out the debris those fucking robots left behind in the one place Mindy was adamant needed to be preserved: The First Tree Cafe.
Or formerly that, anyway. The sign had been done away with, with a new sign replacing it: Negi and Sasami's Diner. Granted, the inside was still a bit of a fixer upper, but the lights were working, the chairs were clean of garbage and robot entrails, and a now dusty but accomplished looking girl was busy inside, busy cooking.
Outside there was another sign: Negi and Sasami's Diner
Under New Management
Alien Burgers
Apple Pies
Soup
Ask for anything else and you will get punched in the face.
More food to be added at a date TBD.
[To Note: Splitting this post in two: for those coming into the restaurant, and Mindy going back to the castle.]

Yukio eyed the small diner once more and chose a suitable spot that wasn't too close to the bar, but not so far away that it would arise suspicion. The teen rolled up the sleeves on the heavy, black exorcist's jacket he wore and went to work removing any bits of fallen debris that was on or near the table he'd chosen. Once that was complete, he removed a rag from one of the many pockets along his satchel and wiped away any remaining dust.
Satisfied with the little bit of work, he finally turned back to Mindy. "I'm sure nii-san would be happy to put all his excess energy to work. He's fairly strong, so you should probably leave all the remaining grunt work to him. He wouldn't mind," he said, assuredly.

She would have to make sure he had an extra helping.
"I'll take your world for it," she said, albeit dryly. "What's his name?"
no subject
"His name is Rin," he replied. "He's a bit of a fool, but his heart is in the right place. Usually."
no subject
Jeez, this guy. He was, like, all business and kinda awesome at the same time. Almost like a professional hitman or something.
no subject
"Anything alike...?" He slowly questioned, then chuckled. "Most people are surprised to find out we're brothers, let alone twins. He's an eccentric sort."
no subject
"Twins? That's a new one. What makes him so out there, apart from you?"
no subject
"Nii-san is boisterous, reckless and talkative," he explained. "Too curious for his own good. Our attitudes, behavior and the way we view life, differ greatly amongst other things. "
no subject
"Was he just pod popped?"
no subject
"By some stroke of luck we 'awakened' at the same time," he explained. It was a sobering thought to think that anything else could have occurred; if that were the case he would have chalked it up to failure on his part.
"We've both been here...for some time, though I am uncertain of just how much. My pocket watch refuses to work as it should," the boy said, tapping against the left of his chest. "This was the first time we've been around for a 'pod pop'. Does it happen often? I've been researching a method to keep decent time by, other than by my sleep schedule."
no subject
She was glad that they came at the same time though. "It'd be cool if your method worked though. I'd love to know how much time's passed so far."
no subject
It was nice, so far, having a conversation like this. With the recent events and the overall situation of being on Stacy, he'd been wound rather tightly. Pairing that with keeping Rin's heritage in check and the less-than-careful methods his brother had been using concerning said powers, he had been a few steps from legitimately pissed off.
"I'd imagine it makes it difficult to keep consistent hours open in a diner as well."
no subject
"I'm about to find out," Mindy admitted. "I only just became the person looking after it. I don't even know how she wound up keeping the time. I'm going to have to adjust pretty quickly."
no subject
"Neither do I. 'Daylight is burning', was something my father always said in response to sleeping in late. As for your time problem...have you considered crafting an hourglass?" he questioned, a brow raised.
"It's actually incredibly easy to do, even if glass-crafting isn't in your skill-set. It doesn't have to be accurate to how much time an hour is, only the length of time that you perceive as one hour. That was you can easily space out your shifts by the number of times you've flipped the glass."
no subject
"I guess I'm a product of my world," Mindy admitted. "We all have watches and calendars, which are pretty useless in a place like this. But you know, you have a point. I think I'll try to make that thing, and I'll get Ruffnut to follow it. We could use it anyway."
no subject
Of course he had no idea if the ship would impede the ability to use an hourglass, too. Though if that were the case his concerns that the ship were interfering with their timepieces purposely would only be heightened.
Yukio sat back in his seat and reached down to one of the larger satchels strapped to his side and retrieved a black bottle with a tightly closed white cap. He took a drink of whatever liquid was in the bottle, then sat it down and looked back at his comm.
Rin really was going to ditch him, wasn't he? Knowing his brother, he was probably still asleep. The teen's brow furrowed in annoyance. If Rin wasn't quick, he would simply eat without him.
no subject
Yep, Lash was one of those brainy science types all right. Which might actually be annoying if it weren't for the fact Lash made it all so FUCKING cool. Really, since when was she the type of person leading squadrons and shit? Not since Lash, that's when.
"What's that drink?" She asked, curious.

Demon Pharmacology was his specialty, but he had rightly earned his rank of meister as a Doctor through the extensive knowledge both exorcist related and non.

"There are many ways to prepare tea, though the most simplistic method and blend would work for a diner." He didn't really think she would be interested in the long and precise manner in which a tea ceremony was held. "I've noticed the abundance of flora and fauna in Hydroponics, but I have yet to find any in-depth list on the properties of the various plants found there."
no subject
"With all the people and comings and goings, I wouldn't be surprised," Mindy said, who might actually be curious about a tea ceremony for the diner. For a regular day, not likely. Ruffnut would probably laugh her ass off at her for even suggesting it.
no subject
"Documenting the flora in Hydroponics might also greatly increase the list of items you're able to create for your menu, as I'm sure there are a vast number of edible items there. Cross-referencing might also reveal some particularly rare, edible varieties...assuming you've not opened the diner out of the kindness of your heart." Not that he would blame her; he was well aware that one rarely received something for nothing.
no subject
"I sorta did it because a friend of mine started the cafe," she said, motioning to Sasami's picture right above them, side by side with Negi. "If there's anything I can do to make it a nice place to eat and not go broke, might as well."
no subject
He noticed the diner a bit late and in an attempt to stop his mad dash, promptly crashed into one of the outside mailboxes... which of course was sent flying in a random direction.
In any case! No one had seen it! So he was still cool!
He strode into the diner, his jacked a bit off his shoulder and his sword in one hand. He looked around quickly and spotted Yukio, giving him the biggest grin ever before hopping over the seat and landing on the opposite end of Yukio's table.
"Yo!"
no subject
Even if Rin didn't think anyone had seen it, they most certainly heard it. Maybe it had been a bad idea to actually offer to treat his brother. He hadn't earned it, but he knew it would be a surefire method of keeping his twin in one spot.
Yukio said nothing, but shot a look at Mindy. Now that they were side-by-side, she would see just how different the two were.
no subject
Ruffnut would have liked him.
Still, it wasn't her place to make any judgement (yet). "What'll you guys have?"
