Tavern log. Yep.

Most of the recently-awakened people had probably heard of the Drunken Dragon tavern within a few days of getting accustomed to the ship. Some had already visited it, and a few had probably even become regulars already.

As usual, the door was open, and Kang and his helpers were there, refilling drinks and being sociable.

The stage was free for anyone that wanted to share a story, sing a song, or play an instrument, and it was more than welcomed, for what's a tavern without some form of entertainment?

[OOC: If your character wants to speak to a tavern person in particular (Kang, Kaylee, Nima or Kali), just make a note of it in your tag. Threads here can pretty much cover any time from the most recent podpop to just after Happy Happy Fun World; backtagging is our friend in T9. :D

"Why? They've got creepy beady little eyes and you always feel like there's someone watching you when they're around. And they bite. Stupid birds."

Howard's affection for animals extends only as far as his cat.

Howard waves his hands a bit, signaling 'your job not mine'. "I'm no good at languages. If you need a translator, I'll have to find you someone else."

Ian smiled and shook his head. They would just have to agree to disagree about parrots.

"There's bound to be some translators around here." It must be a useful skill on a ship containing people from all sorts of planets. "If you can't find one, try the Doctor. He might know."

"I told you. He didn't know anything about this ship earlier." He tilts his head at Ian. "You mean like one of those people who can instantly speak any language? Because I don't think we're going t get translators for a language no one else even recognizes."

"Maybe." Having never met anyone like that in real life, he wasn't sure if they'd find them on Stacy. "Or a codebreaker."

"That's a good idea." Howard brings his hand to his mouth in thought; he hadn't considered that. He drums his fingers over his lip. "Or what about a living computer? Would that work?"

"A living computer?" Ian couldn't imagine the idea, but he had to remind himself he was on a living spaceship. "That might work."

"Zou's got an Artificial Intelligence that's pretty much just that. Maybe I can borrow her and bring her down here." He claps his hands together. "I got a Med Bay shift in thirty. If I leave you here, you won't try and swipe this spaceship from under my nose, right?"

"Of course not," Ian promised. Even if he wanted to he wouldn't be able to move it under its own power and getting something else to move it would take a while. Besides, where would he put it?

"I think I'll go to the library and see if it has anything on this spaceship." He hadn't seen a library, but there was a city, therefore he assumed there must be one.

"There's a media library upstairs. Or sidestairs. Whereverstairs. Pretty good selection for browsing." He tucks his pencil and pad away. "See you around?"
