Teams and How Not To Kill Them [Team Lima Only]

If he's going to hold a team meeting it seems reasonable to try to make it as nice a meeting as possible, so he's taken over one of the sensoriums so that they can have couches.

...well okay the room is actually just his office back home with some couches ADDED, but they are still comfortable places to sit. There's also juice and cookies!

Mostly he just wants to get a handle on who all is under his intermittent command here when it comes to the missions. It's not going to do him any good to have a team if he doesn't have a handle on their abilities.

Ninjas are trained to work solo with a unified style that lets some missions be handled in pairs or fours. This means that, well, the Doc isn't really much of a 'large group' strategist. In fact his past attempts at planning non-solo missions have gone over in some spectacularly terrible ways. But hey, that plane thing was soooo Dad's fault, seriously.

For right now he has to at least try, though.

He munches on a cookie and waits.

Mai straggled in with a yawn. Meeting. Hooray. She glanced around at everyone, then simply leaned against a wall, not bothering to introduce herself.

Oh but Mai! McNinja knows you are here! And he will do just about anything right now to take the focus off Sean being so.... Sean.

"Hey! New person! What's your name?"

Her reply was monosyllabic, "Mai."

And then she went back to cleaning her nails with a throwing knife.

Closely following Mai is Zuko, looking grumpy as always (and a little slimy from his latest vent-crawl).

"Zuko," he adds, leaning against the wall beside Mai.

"Hi Mai, hi Zuko. I'm Dani, but call me D. Since he's also Danny," Dani said, pointing to Danny. Might as well start with it now, right?

"What happened to you? You look like you got a hack job clean up after a pod pop," Dani asked, looking at Zuko.

Oh Dani. You've done it. Was Zuko glaring before? Now he's SUPER glaring.

"I was in a fight."

Dani is not really affected by that glare. In fact, she just grins in response. "Really? Did you win?"

Since the tone of voice didn't work, Zuko glares harder.

"None of your business."

"Dude, lay off her. She's only been alive for a little over a year."

"I said it was none of her business, and it isn't." Zuko directs his glare at Danny this time. Dammit, he's being reasonable. He COULD be punching her in the - no, she's kind of a little kid, he wouldn't punch her in the face. "You lay off."

"Don't be mean," Dani said flatly. It was a warning. "Calm down and I'll help you get the gunk of and all it takes is for you to take a step forward when I say," she offered brightly.

"Thanks, but no thanks. I'm fine."

His suit is slowly cleaning the gunk out of his hair, and Zuko is WAY too proud to accept help from someone who doesn't have the manners not to go asking about his glaring, hideous scorn-mark. He stays where he is, leaning against the wall, arms crossed.

Seriously, did no one ANYWHERE outside the Four Nations have any concept of respect?

Doc held up a hand and waved it insistently.

"Hey, look, we have a long list of more important things to talk about, like filing each other in on our skills so we know what we're doing with each other if we get thrown on a mission again. So how about we all just hold our personal questions on reserve for now and talk amongst ourselves once we're all more acquainted."

And he thought keeping Gordito's attention was hard at times...

The Doc sort of wanted to say something about Dani's lack of tact too but that was really more of a 'pulled aside privately' conversation. It wouldn't do any good to criticize her in front of everybody...

"Come on, everyone have a seat? Are we missing anybody?"

Dani raised an eyebrow at Zuko and shrugged. "Fine," she said. It wasn't a lack of respect, it was a lack of tact. Something Dani never really learned. She just thought Zuko needed to be less grumpy.

She looked around at everyone. "No one's said the name Robert," Dani said.

He didn't know who Robert was, and McNinja was still unfamiliar to him, but Zuko had grown beyond taking peacemakers for granted. He stepped forward and bowed shallowly to McNinja. At least one person here had a sense of tact.

"I am the crown prince of the Fire Nation. I've trained in the martial art of firebending and the way of the sword since I was able to walk. I have traveled the Four Nations, and I can infiltrate any base without being heard or seen."

He waited for someone else to sit before joining them. He knew he was bragging a little on that last point - and that his titles were unlikely to impress anyone on this ship anymore - but he WAS good at sneaking, and at the very least, they would know that he was proud of who he was.

Robert was, sadly, late. He didn't mean to be, of course but little things like getting lost in a living spaceship will do that to you. He hurried inside, happy that at least he wasn't going to get a chewing out. The man nodded awkwardly to others, unslinging his rifle and resting it against one wall as he appraised them.

Two guys in masks and four children. Well. This was off to a great start, wasn't it?

"Hi everybody, sorry I'm late. Please, continue."

The Doc waves a quick hello to Robert - "No problem we're still just starting." - and gives Zuko all his attention for a moment, bowing back to him respectfully.

"Thanks for starting us off Zuko. I will have to ask you exactly what Firebending entails later but for now I will just safely assume it involves fire and we'll come back to it."

"I might as well go next then I guess."

He put a hand to his chest demonstratively (reminded with a touch that his tie probably looked stupid against the plant suit).

"I'm Doctor McNinja and I am - as the name implies - a doctor and a ninja. You can just call me Doc, whatever works for you. I have my own practice in Cumberland, Maryland and extensive training in medicine, combat and espionage. I've had a sidekick for a while but never really a whole team to command for an extended period of time so this'll be a little new to me but I'm sure we'll figure it out.

He jerked a thumb at the OTHER ninja in the room.

"As you may have gathered from the family resemblance, this is my younger brother." he raised a brow at Sean. "You wanna go next?"

"Sure, bro," Dark Smoke Puncher said and sat up.

"Yo, check it, the name's Dark Smoke Puncher of the McNinja clan. Espionage and combat are a cinch when I am it, and when it comes to masks and facades, I can do them like I've been them since I was a kid. Though they're whack, I can cross wire and hot wire any technological thing to do my biddin', word," he rapped.

Yes, he rapped it.

Including gangsta signs.

On the inside, however? Sean was thinking more along the lines of 'oh thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for giving me an excuse never to do it again!'

Then he looked at Danny. Though he kind of liked his ninja name. Because, well, damn it, it was his NINJA NAME! "Danny Phantom, dawg? Ain't your real name Fenton? With the clone named Danielle. You don't have no right to be dissin' my ninja name, yo, till you get some creativity, fer shizzle."

Why, yes, he'd been collecting some basic data on people.
