GOLD PLANET

A brightly-colored 'world' of balloons, mascots, rides, and glittery lights, Gold Planet was ever loud and ever entertaining. It was home to any number of typical attractions. Haunted houses, gondola rides, the Tunnel of Love, roller coasters, funnel cake, mirror houses, tacky T-shirts, and more! Of course, there was also the ever-popular Pecoco racetrack, home to large, colorful birds that could be bet upon and ridden.

[Any kinds of typical amusement park stuff!]

"Slingshots. Well I expected at least an air rifle but this works." deadpanned Rein.

Testing the stretch of the slingshot, she weighed her first shot. Aiming for a small matching blue plushie prize, she fired it with a ping.

Atom aimed for an empty crystal that promised a large number of points, but missed it by just a hair. Darn! He stuck out his tongue as he concentrated on his second shot and... hit his target.

Okay, he just needed to keep this up!

PING the shot rang off the crystal as she reloaded. Another shot like that and she'd win something again! Taking aim, she fired and it struck a red crystal.

Atom fired at a purple crystal, hitting it dead center. Which wasn't easy, considering he'd never fired one of those before!

He took aim again, concentrating on a moving green one...

Ptang! Another shot and Rein checked her ammo. Taking aim at a tiny yellow one, she loosed her shot and for a moment, it curved. But then, it arced around and struck the crystal, the girl letting a whoop.

With a sharp ping, the crystal shattered, sending slivers of green jangling to the floor. This wasn't so bad after all! He hit a red and a blue one in turn, cleaning up the left side.

"You're really good at this!" exclaimed Rein as she lined up her last shot. PING went the blow, glancing off one but striking another in the further back.

Hugging her new CHYPrE and COFFRET plushies, she grinned.

Atom finished the game, then scrutinized the prize wall, looking for the right one...

In the end, he selected a large brown bear (http://www.flickr.com/photos/65137250@N03/6244086641/), soft and almost as big as his torso. "Thanks, you too!"

He thanked the booth worker before claiming his prize, holding the big bear in both arms and smiling a little.

"I love these kinds of games," admitted Rein. "These, crane games, all those kinds of games that require hand-eye. It's a lot of fun to be honest."

"Yeah, me too. I guess I don't play them that often, but they're always fun to watch!" Plus, if he played them too often it would kind of be like cheating. Not exactly, but...

"Neither do I, but it's always nice to unwind sometimes. And it's a lot more fun than console games." admitted Rein.
