Medieval World!
Medieval World was one of the largest year-round renaissance faires in the multiverse.
Minstrels and bards wandered the streets, vendors sold ridiculously overpriced period clothing, jewelry, weapons, and turkey legs as big as a human's head, and the royal court mingled with the commoners. There were events everywhere: falconers, magicians, belly dancing, hypnotists, weapons competitions including swords, axes, maces, and bows, camel rides, Washing Well Wenches, fake jousting on wooden 'horses' suspended on ropes, and real jousting.
As was typical of these sorts of events, anachronicity was everywhere, as were patrons in all sorts of fantasy costumes.

Not that Alastirra would do anything but stand out in a crowd of humans, with the purple skin, hooves, and horns. Even if she was doing her best to pass, wearing her chainmail (save for the helmet, because horns and a helmet didn't mix well). She'd availed herself of a turkey leg and was gnawing on it while watching the costumed passersby.
"Not enjoying yourself?" she inquired of the human.
no subject
"What the hell..?! Just what are you supposed to be?" He's a liiiiittle too stuck on that to answer your question.
no subject
"I am Farseer Alastirra, and I expect we both come from the ship Stacy. But you did not look quite like you were enjoying yourself, despite the fact that this is supposed to be recreational."
no subject
At the mention of Stacy, he ticked his tongue in annoyance. It was a relief to get out of that stupid ship, but he wasn't sure if he was better off dealing with those people or the people on this..Happy Happy Fun World. Thing.
"Not really." Nothing good ever came out of amusement parks. Ever. "Not only is this place stupid, I've only seen maybe half of this stuff in Medieval times."
no subject
She tilted her head, looking down at the angry seeming little man.
"So, who are you? Recently awoken, I take it?"
no subject
Ankh looked at Alastirra a bit warily, though at least it wasn't full-on suspicion. "Yeah, I did. Name's Ankh. Was your world some sort of medieval rip-off then?" IIIIIt's pretty obvious he doesn't care either way.
no subject
So he didn't like the ship. Hmm. Alastirra tapped a finger against her lips, thoughtfully. "I know most of the ship is a mess, but there are a few places there that feel a bit less enclosed and more like a planet. Like the City, and Hydroponics."
no subject
"I've heard of them; haven't particularly looked into them though," Ankh admitted. It was useful having the Hawk candroid fly around and gather information though, so he at least had some idea of what she was talking about. "The wilderness isn't exactly my forte though."
no subject
Alastirra thought for a moment. "Though Hydroponics is a bit more tame than that, I suppose. I grow a garden there, and I am not bothered."
Though maybe that's because she has a GIANT CAT watching her while she's there.
no subject
"Tamed, huh?" He was talking to her, but he was busy looking around at the surroundings. "Hmph. Not bad I suppose, though I don't really care about the nature." Although it did sound like a good place that...wouldn't cause another weird freak out if it was more open like she said.
no subject
"You seem like the sort who needs freedom." Which...is a lot less lame than some of the other things she could have come up with.
He kind of reminded her of Howard. What was up with that?
no subject
He gave her a sidelong look at the last part though, back to being a little wary. "Oh? What makes you say that?"
no subject
Not that Alastirra knew exactly what that might mean. It just made her curious.
no subject
And they the hell are they following him? He's starting to think she's just making all of this up.
no subject
"Nature spirits are all over, usually. Especially on a world like this one, where there are still trees and living things and so on. All the elements have them, for example. The ones who seem to like you are fire spirits."
Alastirra shrugged, an odd sight with the turkey leg still clutched(as if it were one of her maces, no less) in her hand, then continued.
"I am told that they view you as a kindred spirit."
no subject
"Fire?" He parroted, thinking out loud and looking at his right hand. Well OK that....wasn't, entirely out of the question he supposed. He certainly hadn't told her about the whole fire-thing, but that didn't keep him from being suspicious.
He dropped his arm back to his side and shrugged. "Kindred spirits?" That was weird. He smirked and gave a 'hah' in amusement, before both were dropped and he just looked bored. "Tell 'them' that that's ridiculous. I'm certainly not kindred with anything from nature."
no subject
"What can you do with such as those, hm?"
Finishing the giant drumstick, after a good amount of gnawing at it, she worked on getting the barbecue sauce out of her fingers and off her face.
no subject
"Though I'll guess they'll just leave when we get back on the ship." He thought aloud. It was...alive somehow sure, but it didn't have normal trees and stuff or, whatever. Not like this place at least.
no subject
Never mind they would do exactly what they wanted, regardless. Spirits were very like that.
no subject
"Besides, why do I care? Are you sure you're not just making all this up?" He asked, narrowing his eyes and gesturing with his hands. For all hew knew after all, she was full of it. Why? Well, how the heck should he know, really.
no subject
"Oh, Akil, Kurii? Would you care to introduce yourselves, my friends?" Not that many people expected a pair of translucent, ghostly blue wolves to suddenly appear from nowhere. There hadn't been a milling crowd before, but eyes were settling on the Draenei and her ghost wolves.
One of them sat down on its haunches and scratched vigorously. The other stepped around Ankh, giving him the eye, before lifting its head and giving a low, mournful howl.
Alastirra just looked at Ankh. "Am I making them up?"
no subject
"What the hell...?!" He glanced around at the surrounding people as if checking to see that he wasn't hallucinating; he wasn't used to the whole dreaming thing, but from what he knew about them he wouldn't strike it as a possibility. He warily sidestepped one of them when it came near him, glaring at it. "What are these things?!"
no subject
"Spirit wolves. My friends. They are harmless--to you." Not that the other people around weren't giving them something of a wide berth, due to the fact that they were giant wolves.
"I was not joking, but I was not trying to startle you either, so you have my apology for that."
With that apology, she sounded sincere, at least.
no subject
Ankh scoffed and shrugged, recollecting himself and watching the giant wolves carefully. "Hmph. Not one for subtlety, are you? They just attack things on your command then?"
