Hey, what's not to like about a planet called 'Happy Happy Fun World'?

[[ooc: Time for Shore Leave! Post reactions to the announcement here]]

"You have got to be kidding me."

Aya was just staring at one of the screens in utter disbelief.

"Who names a planet 'Happy Happy Fun World'?" she protested, folding her arms over her chest. "And popcorn? This is some kind of joke, right? I get half the people I meet saying that being on this ship is dangerous and then I get told about... about... POPCORN being the most dangerous thing I have to encounter right off the bad?"

She isn't a happy one.

"Lady, It's shore leave. It's not supposed to sound dangerous. But the first time we had shore leave was the first time we faced the Ohm, and last time we had it people's ages started being reversed towards non-existence. So if this one ends up being stress free? It'll be a freakin' miracle"

[identity profile] gunspluscells.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
Aya just takes a minute to look at you Ron. You've pretty much colluded on her point that this was pretty dangerous no matter how you look at it.

"Third time lucky, eh?"

[identity profile] carrieswar.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
"That is pretty dumb name..." Jr. agreed. But, sorry Aya, the rest of this sounded awesome.

"But hey! It's basically shore leave! It's been a while since we got a relax."

[identity profile] gunspluscells.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
"You sure it's actually time to relax, Jr.?" She continues frowning as the picture of the planet came up on screen.

"I mean, Happy Happy Fun World..." Aya genuinely looks confused and frustrated. "What in the actual fuck."

oh my god pretend I didn't just journalfail

[identity profile] carrieswar.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, let's keep our guard up just in case this turns into one of those looks good on the outside, but look inside and everything starts to go to crap things."

He looked back to the screen. "But so far? It looks like it's gonna be fun!"

pffft I'm not even getting notifs yet

[identity profile] gunspluscells.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm sure whether you're a kid or not at this point."

It was half a joke, half serious. Jr. was terribly excited and Aya was genuinely willing herself to feel something that wasn't utter frustration. But I guess looking at it, if they spent most of their time fighting danger than any time off was good.

That didn't mean it sat well with Aya though.

He snickered. "Hey, once you've been stuck on this ship for so long where most planets we stop off on are just missions that end up costing arms, legs and whole lots of stress, stops like this are a godsend!"

He rubbed a finger over his chin. "I wonder what they mean about the popcorn, though..."

[identity profile] gunspluscells.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 11:56 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm not going to try."

She shook her head and put her hands up in protest. Nope, she's not going to be a guinea pig. Plus if it was like any other carnival she'd been to, it was probably overpriced. A proper lose-lose situation.

Splicer takes a long drag from nearby before making the cigarette get consumed in a small blaze.

"Sometimes we're lucky, and we get a nice shore leave with no danger or mishaps and shit. I for one am looking forward to a bit of down time on a planet and not have swarms of enemies covering it."

Not only now, but even back in his world, it was a common enough thing for him.

He finally turned from the screen and smiled at her. "You could always stay on board, though I'd suggest against it. We don't get these often and it's never a bad thing to relax and such in a different environment."

Granted, he knew that she just arrived recently, but this planet would surely be different from her own.

[identity profile] gunspluscells.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
"I can't... deal with this ship. Not yet. Not fully."

She sighed and tried to relax, her shoulders falling as the air left her body.

"So I'll go. I'll go to this... shore leave and see what it does to me."

[identity profile] expendable-mind.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 10:09 am (UTC)(link)
"It jus' takes time s'all. You'll get the hang of it, like I said when I met you. You seem like a strong gal after all."

He placed his hands in his pocket and looked over at the screen once more.

"This one's a first though. Never seen a world like this one before. Kinda reminds me of the entertainment sector over in the Korhal quadrant. Though instead of a colony and space station, this is a whole damn entire planet."

Splicer shook his head and chuckled, a bit in disbelief. Well, it could have been worse!

[identity profile] gunspluscells.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 11:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Let me run this through you again... Happy. Happy. Fun."

She took a moment to give him a hard look.

"World. Happy Happy Fun World. It's either going to be the safest or most dangerous place in the world."

Why was she so tense about it? Probably because she felt it was more the latter than the former.

[identity profile] expendable-mind.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 03:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Splicer chuckled, she reminded him a lot of one of his teammates.

"Well, I never leave my equipment on shore leaves, so if anything goes wrong, I'll be ready. But they're generally pretty chill and nothing happens most of the time."

He looked at her and offered a warm and friendly smile. "I understand how ya feel though. It can be a bit daunting after all the news and such."

Shion is staring at a nearby screen, also somewhat in disbelief at the name. It sounded more like kids had named it.

"If it's a joke, it's not a very funny one. I wonder if it's a malfunction..."

[identity profile] gunspluscells.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 11:44 am (UTC)(link)
"Probably not."

Aya was now looking at her omnicomm.

"There seems to be information on it on this device. That's some deep level malfunction if it is."

[identity profile] animus-vessel.livejournal.com 2011-10-13 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Really?" Shion pulled up her own omnicomm (that she kept strapped to her arm at almost all times) and begun looking up the information on there.

"Jr. told me that they don't have Stacy fully fixed from whatever it was that compromised her systems. So a malfunction like that isn't hard to imagine."
