Mission Start: Seeds of Hope

"Thank you all for coming. The GIA has been good to us to send a team of delegates. You must be all tired from your trip so please, rest up. Our medical team will provide you all with assistance to treat the plague with your advanced medicine." said the King, bowing to the newcomers.

"For the time being, please wander around the town, but be sure not to stray to the outside. We'll begin medical treatment as soon as possible."

It was an old city, Circle-Xine on the Planet of Koar. Standing there astride an oasis and a desert, it housed a formidable amount of defence, but the same went for the people within who were tough, hardy, but suffering from a special plague. It was a petrification plague, and it was making their people sick, slowly turning the people to stone.

Trans9 had been contacted by the GIA, in order to establish a foothold there, by offering medical supplies, and a team of six had been deployed from the Calnus, and landed outside the city.

It was here Reimi turned to the others. "All right everyone, we'll begin helping the medical relief within two hours. Until then, familiarize yourself with the layout of the town, or rest up. We'll begin after we've settled in."

"Stay in twos as well. I'll be here to coordinate efforts and be bringing the medical supplies from the Calnus."

As soon as Rachel got into her eagle form enough to take to the sky, she did. Shooting into the air, she scanned the rooftops with the sharpened eyesight until she spotted the guys she'd seen before. Silently, she shot after them, trying to close in on them so she could attack from above.

It was the biggest guy who noticed Rachel first. Maybe it was keen alien senses or that eagle was closing in, but he snapped a hand up. "FIREBOLT!"

A trio of flame spheres hurled out at Rachel intent on turning her into bbq.

Rachel swore internally, quickly tucking her wings in to make a dive-- aiming to get below the fire and fast. So much for the element of surprise, then. She ducked lower, trying to fall out of their sight, but still keep an eye on them. She had to get close without getting charred.

The large man grunted as the eagle vanished below his sight. "Followed. Tracker eagle most likely."

"We should hurry then," said the first. "Keep an eye out."

The second nodded and they took off again, the attack no doubt drawing more attention.

Like the attention of Sandy.

"Oh geeze oh geeze." She looked around seeing the commotion and desperately seeking out anyone else who could help. She wasn't a fighter she was a runner!

...well except for that time with the cultists.

Realizing that she couldn't see anyone else coming she groaned and took off dashing after them with surprising speed even for someone so small.

"We've got another follower," remarked the second man, noticing Sandy running after them."

"We're almost to the edge of the city. Once we're outside of the protective barrier, we're home free," smirked the first.

"No you don't" Sandy grunted through clenched teeth as she poured on the speed. She didn't have any weapons with her really. Just her own self and if she caught them she had no idea what she'd do with them really.

Still she was closing the distance between them so she'd have to figure it out fast! There was a small unoccupied part of her mind that chuckled.

Usually I'm running away from trouble, but this is like the third time since Stacy picked me up I've been running at it. I've lost my damn mind.

It was then that an arrow thudded into the rooftops in front of them, causing them to halt. "That's far enough," said Reimi, standing there with bow in hand.

Keying in her radio, she proclaimed, "Hikari, Miyako, we're going to need backup. Home in on my signal."

On the bright side, Rachel seemed to have bought some time-- or at least drawn attention. Shooting into the sky once again, she flapped hard to get some air above them. Watching where the others were, she let out a cry before diving at the men. Hopefully ready to dodge, but aiming for the eyes.

"Tch!" exclaimed the first as the second tried to shoo Rachel away. "This is bad. They've got a hunter party on us."

"You two... let's not show them any mercy then." The first threw off his cloak to reveal that he was nothing more than a pile of bones! The second and third did the same, revealing a skeleton beneath their robes.

Peeling off their human masks, the trio began to whirl together, bones clattering into a different configuration as they stood tall atop the buildings. A powerful Sword Dancer stood there, bearing his weapons.

"INVOKE!" roared the trio. "FIGHT BATTLE STANDBY!"

Raising a hand into the air, a beam fired into the sky and a dome began to spread across the battlefield, in order to seal the group in as the world began to shatter around them.

(Enemy Count: Sword Dancer x1, Attacks, Firebolt, Sword Whirl, Ice Lance, Enrages at 20%. Battlestandby ready FIGHT!)

"OH crap!" Sandy skidded to a stop only now finally catching up to the trio...no longer a trio. She cursed luck and looked around nervously for something to hide behind or attack with. Luckily she wasn't the only one there.

Hikari blinked as she and Plotmon just ran right over to the battle just in time to see the giant skeleton creature. It was similar to a Skull Satamon, actually.

Still, big giant monster. Fight time.

Hikari moved to grab her digivice, light from it causing Plotmon to evolve into Tailmon as she jumped over towards the creature and started to scale the building.

It was a good thing they had made it in time though.

If Howard hadn't already decided by the first Firebolt that this was so not his fight, the giant skeleton thing probably would have done the trick. In a way, it's so insane it's almost comical. You know. If it weren't totally terrifying.

He's slipped the materials he got from the medical team into his med kit, leaving his hands free to do whatever it is they might need doing. Currently that isn't much, given that he's busy being useless and cowering behind what seems to be a Koarian dumpster. He'd rather be on the outside of the dome, but you can't win them all.

He feels absolutely zero guilt about being useless, by the way. He's a medic, not a fighter. And sometimes not even that.

"Ohh, not good!" Miyako shouted, her and Hawkmon just having made it before the barrier fully formed.

"Looks like we have a fight on our hands." Hawkmon said. Nodding, Miyako went for her own Digivice, using it to evolve Hawkmon into Aquilamon. She was glad that Hikari was around - Silphymon might be needed here, too.

Picking his target, the giant skeleton turned towards Hikari, Miyako and Reimi. From one of his hands, a sphere of flames appeared and in the other a freezing pike.

"FIREBOLT! ICE LANCE!"

Twinned attacks lanced out, three firebolts towards the two digimon girls and a freezing pike towards Reimi. Another arm swiped at Rachel, proving he could multitask.

Reimi flipped backwards from the attack high into the air as she loosed a volley of arrows at him, power charging from the tip as a massive arrow of light fired down at the enemy, hoping to connect with it.

Hikari's eyes widened as she noticed the blast of fire heading towards her, and she jumped out of the way before it slammed into her.

She pulled out her pactio card, and with a cry of "Adeat!" she was suddenly transformed, flying into the air and readying two blasts of magic to send flying over towards the skeleton.

Rachel flapped wildly, the swing hitting her enough to cause pain, to throw her off and-- well, she was falling. She'd avoided a direct enough hit to knock her out or anything, but she wasn't sure how well she could fly now.

This was what she was looking for.

Dropping to the ground, she quickly focused on morphing back to human form-- to get rid of the injury, but also because she needed firepower. She'd be back in action soon.

The enemy was pretty big, and blocked the shot from Reimi as he turned towards the other combatants, or hiders as it were. "Firebolt!" he chorused with three voices, aiming blasts at Miyako, Sandy and Howard.

"Gyah!!" Sandy dove forward clumsily and scrambled on all fours to dodge the firebolt. "Freakin' jerk!" She shouted springing to her feet again and continuing to move.

She really had no plans on how to attack. This was something she was new to.

"Woah!" Miyako yelped, hopping onto Aquilamon after his evolution. The action barely missed the two of them.

"That was my partner, you monster!" Aquilamon shouted. "BLAST LASER!" From its beak, the large bird Digimon fired a laser blast at it.
