Meat n' Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. They are also told they must read information about their current situation and a survival guide with their new omnicom. New crew-mates might see a tall dragonish guy with wings (but don't call him that) and purple girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

TOO LATE, SHE WAS GOING.

But Chell wasn't heartless. She'd stop, and see what else this guy wanted.

Why was everyone always so fascinated with her shoes? Geez it was like they'd never seen boots before. But if this guy was crazy then maybe he hadn't. So she stopped, folding her arms and sticking out a foot, allowing him to get a good look if he wanted one.

He glanced the boot up and down and then settled back on her face, deciding they looked about as weird as the girl who wore them. She obviously understood him but just... wasn't talking to him for some reason. Maybe she had something horrible going on with her teeth and just refused to open her mouth? Some kind of horrible over-under bite or crooked buck-teeth or something... who knew...

Then Ash decided because of this, Chell would make the perfect wife. Ash was used to talking aloud (mostly to himself), but it was uncertain if curiosity or impatience was going to win out in this first encounter with Miss Bromden.

So... he decided to just outright ask. "You can't talk, can you?"

Ten points for Gryffindor Captain Obvious.

She tilted her head slightly to the side, considering his words, but all Ash received was a noncommittal shrug.

Maybe she just didn't want to talk to you, Ash. WHAT THEN.

"Or is it that you just don't want to talk to me in particular?"

Another shrug, this time accompanied by a slightly withered glance.

But hey, maybe she was being rude. The concept of human politeness was still something Chell knew she lacked, so perhaps she should give this crazy Ash guy the benefit of the doubt.

She stopped again, this time folding her arms and gesturing outward with a hand, indicating that if he had more to say, to go on and say it.

Either she was playing some unprecedented level of hard-to-get, or just just plain didn't want to talk to him. He glanced her up and down again, clearly perplexed.

What are you trying to say.

He was, of course, thinking she was playing a game of hard-to-get, but his patience had thinned at this point. He wanted him to say something?

"You're weird, lady."

It was his turn to about-face and walk off. "When you learn to use your mouth better, come find me."

Yeah, sure, crazy no-hand man.

Chell watched him skeptically as he turned tail and left, shrugging as if to say she didn't particularly care whether or not they crossed paths again.

She had a feeling it would be sooner than she'd like.
