Meat n' Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. They are also told they must read information about their current situation and a survival guide with their new omnicom. New crew-mates might see a tall dragonish guy with wings (but don't call him that) and purple girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

The Doctor was looking through the crowd - talking with a few people here and there and also trying to find his companions, amongst other people - but what stopped him was Celestia.

Oh, oh - now there was a beautiful unicorn. His eyes lit up in wonder and he approached her to close the space that was between them.

Okay, so Stacy wasn't that bad if she had creatures like this one aboard.

"Hello, there!" he greeted, warmth in his tone as well. "I think I've got some of it down, but I wouldn't be opposed to knowing more!"
sunlightsister: (Did someone say 'friendship'?)

"I would be happy to answer your questions as best I can," she said, smiling. This creature certainly appeared to have a happy disposition! "Welcome to Stacy - I am Princess Celestia. I am sorry that we could not meet under better circumstances. What do you wish to know?"

He was more than happy, Celestia! He was delighted at seeing something as magnificent as you. "I'm the Doctor, Celestia - just the Doctor will do," he replied before shaking his head. Even with such circumstances as these, he was determined to make the best of them.

"Whatever you're willing to share! But, what I'd really like to know is if you've seen a blue police box around. It's kind of important to me." 'Kind of' was a gross understatement - him and the TARDIS went a long ways back and it was almost insulting to say "kind of", but he wasn't sure if she knew of the TARDIS or not. It was better to be sort of vague in these matters.
sunlightsister: (But what is this?)

"A pleasure to meet you, Doctor," Celestia said, inclining her head in greeting.

"A blue police box?" she said, perplexed. She had never heard of any kind of 'police box'. "No, I don't believe I have seen any blue boxes. But perhaps if you ask over the communication devices, someone will be able to assist you. After all, many eyes are better than two, aren't they?" she added, smiling.

The Doctor returned the head bowing with a slight bow of his own in order to show that he was respectful of her position as a princess and the fact that she was a unicorn. (Okay, it was more that he had a unicorn standing right in front of him and he was delighted.)

"The omnicomm thing, right?" he asked. He didn't usually rely on a communicator, but he made do with what he had when the time came.
sunlightsister: (A rare moment to herself)

Well, technically Celestia was an Alicorn, seeing as in addition to horns she had a pair of wings. But the distinction wasn't one that was well known to those who were not ponykind.

"Yes, that is correct," Celestia answered. "With it you can speak with everypony. A most useful device, and very curious - it does not use any magic at all."

[identity profile] whotheman.livejournal.com 2011-10-05 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
The word everypony gave the Doctor some pause and consideration. It obviously was to replace the word "everybody", but what other words were replaced with that language?

"Really now?" The concept of magic wasn't lost to him, so he understood that much. Still, he was curious to figure out everything about, well... everything.
sunlightsister: (I was hoping you could liven things up)

[personal profile] sunlightsister 2011-10-05 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes, really," Celestia said, looking amused. "I believe it functions by technology alone, as do many of the ships other curiosities."

[identity profile] whotheman.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, then! I certainly have to see what Stacy has in store," the Doctor said, amused.
sunlightsister: (Why yes I do love friendship)

[personal profile] sunlightsister 2011-10-12 10:52 am (UTC)(link)
"That you will," Celestia said warmly. "Is there anything else you wish to ask?"

[identity profile] whotheman.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 12:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, if you wouldn't mind - have you've seen a couple of folks around? Their names are Rose Tyler, Martha Jones, Donna Noble, or anyone else?" the Doctor asked. He was tempted to mention the Master, but supposed that could wait. Maybe he wasn't even around yet, which sort of helped to put the Doctor at ease.
sunlightsister: (What have you learned today?)

[personal profile] sunlightsister 2011-10-14 09:27 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm afraid not, but there are many creatures here on this ship. That I do not know them does not know mean they are not here," Celestia said, with an understanding expression. "Are they your friends from home?"

[identity profile] whotheman.livejournal.com 2011-10-17 11:28 am (UTC)(link)
"Indeed they are," the Doctor said. He was ready to begin searching for them through this entire ship and as it turned out, he was going to have to do just that.

"I'll have to see if they're here or hope they're in the pods."
