Meat n' Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. They are also told they must read information about their current situation and a survival guide with their new omnicom. New crew-mates might see a tall dragonish guy with wings (but don't call him that) and purple girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

"I wouldn't say none... you should get in touch with the person in charge of infrastructure improvements maybe. I'm not sure about tunnels directly through the ground -- that might be a bit painful -- but helping with construction down in the City might be suitable."

Not that he could remember who exactly was in charge of that sort of thing, but he was sure it was in the omnicomm.

Simon's head tilted for a moment as he considered what Morgan said, then he nodded. "Guess it wouldn't hurt to learn to use something other than a drill," he said with a bit of a chuckle, hoisting up a hand-cranked conical drill of considerable size.

"That actually might come in handy," he said. "Not that I know anything about it, but we're in the middle of nowhere in the most literal sense, so supplies and machinery is difficult to come across."

Simon smiled a little at that. "That's encouraging. Haven't gotten much use out of this thing in recent years. Definitely wouldn't mind changing that." Politics and paperwork can go screw themselves!

"Most of this ship is pretty much exactly like you see it around you." He waved a hand at the walls and floor, biological in nature as they were. "But down in the City, there's a lot of more 'normal' terrain. Buildings and rivers and parks and so forth. I may be getting ahead of myself here, but there's a lot of unexplored territory down there, and some evidence that there's buried locations and whatnot, too."
