Meat n' Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. They are also told they must read information about their current situation and a survival guide with their new omnicom. New crew-mates might see a tall dragonish guy with wings (but don't call him that) and purple girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

That's more like it. Jamie returns the hug, content in the knowledge that this, at least, is as it should be. Now the tricky part is going to be explaining that another, different looking version of him's been awake here for months, especially when he still doesn't quite understand how that works. That can come in a bit, however.

For now, he tucks his thumbs behind his belt, settling into a comfortable standing position. He's fairly sure there's going to be some questions that the Doctor's going to want to be answered. Depending on how many there are, Jamie may be here for quite some time.

"Aye, well, ye might have had me worried for a moment there, that's all. So, where do ye need me to start with what's been happening?"

It wouldn't be all that difficult, really. Even though he won't ever regenerate again, his other self has plenty to go, and plenty before. And even if he hasn't regenerated he's still...his other self. Simple.

He envies those pockets, but he manages to cross his arms and maintain a cheery and interested smile anyway. "Oh, wherever you feel comfortable. I've got the survival guide and Stacy's explanation for everything. How about your experience? When did you wake up? Quite some time ago, I assume?"

The lack of pockets have never bothered Jamie. Even when wearing his sheepskin vest, he's still prone to standing like he is now, or folding his arms against his chest. Besides, he's got the sporran to hold things, even how much it can hold has changed since he woke up here.

"Aye. As far as I can tell, it's been about a year." He doesn't add the part about time working oddly here, knowing the Doctor'll figure that out - if he hasn't already. "We'd not had the guide then, or knew a lot about what was going on. Back then we thought we were going to be able to go home once we got the ship back. Er, the rest of the crew, that is. There wasn't anyone else awake that I knew."

He pauses, frowning slightly. "At least not that I can remember."

Well, it hasn't bothered him always, but this body...his body, no swapping it out now, is very prone to using pockets for convenience, fashion, and as something to keep his hands busy with. Mostly the last.

"There wasn't, but there is now?" He perks up suddenly. As wonderful as it is to see Jamie, it would be even more wonderful to see more of his old companions. He's been wanting to go back and see them for ages, really, he'd just never found the time and never justified the effort to find it. "Oh! Is Victoria here? Zoe?"

"I've not seen Zoe since we were saying goodbye to ye, back on your planet," replies Jamie, with a hint of regret in his voice. He has no doubt that she's somewhere in the pods, along with Ben and Polly - and, quite possibly, his own Doctor, given that Stacy seems to have no issues with waking up multiple versions of him. Still, it would be nice to have her here, and awake. As irritating as she can be sometimes, he does miss her being around.

Victoria, though, is a whole other matter, and he visibly brightens just thinking about her. For all that he hadn't wanted her to have to face the dangers of living on Stacy, there's a large part of him that's very, very happy she's here - and he thinks the Doctor will be pleased to find that out, as well. "But, you're right about Victoria. She woke up not too long ago, and I know she'll be glad to see ye. Er, once we explain the fact ye look a wee bit different than what she's used to."
