Meat n' Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. They are also told they must read information about their current situation and a survival guide with their new omnicom. New crew-mates might see a tall dragonish guy with wings (but don't call him that) and purple girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

"Tsh. Well thanks for the gratitude, stony face. Why she wants to see you guys so bad is beyond me: that girl I fought in the simulation was a lot more fun. But whatever, not my world. Aren't you interested in meeting her, or at least what the fuck you're facing? I hope she hasn't been souping up your skills: it'd suck to know how slow they are because of pod pop."

Yes,s he was deliberately needling him. Why?

Because Lash would probably do the same thing. And if she wouldn't? Well, it was just FUN.

Hawke, however, remained stoic and apparently unflappable, even if this snot-nosed little brat's words certainly infuriated him on the inside. He carefully considered her for a moment before deciding to throw her words right back, calmly and cooly.

"Are you her friend? I hope she hasn't been picking up your insolence."

Very polite, Hawke.

"She picks up what she wants, I'm not the boss of her," Hit Girl said, flat put ignoring the whole insolence thing. Was this guy really Lash's commanding officer? How did she stand it? He seemed...so much less cooler than her, all uppity and arrogant like some fatcat. Ugh, she hoped not.

"She's become a respected member of the crew though, and she's pretty awesome at that. So if that's insolence, its a lot better than the alternative. Sure as hell gets questioned answered."

Yeah, don't be mature or anything, Hit Girl.

"Good," he said brusquely with a dismissive wave of his hand, "I would expect nothing less from her."

Whether or not this was actually true was yet to be determined, but Hawke knew he'd find Lash soon enough and then he'd see for himself.

"Has she been here long?" Obviously it was long enough to become a respected member of the crew, so at least that was something.

"You were the one that was her leader, you'd know how she is," Hit girl replied. 'I've been on a few mission with her, trained in one of her simulations, and I hang out with her. She's on several different factions on the ship. If I were you, I'd be proud. Tell her I said that though, and you're dead. It'd ruin my rep."

Hit Girl sighed. "A while, at least as long as I have. There's not any real way of measuring time here on the ship, unfortunately. It's one of the most annoying things about being on the ship."

Great. This was just getting better by the minute.

"Your secret is safe with me," he replied dryly. "If she's part of command, shouldn't she be present for an event such as this?"

Hawke totally wasn't bitter about being stood up, nope. Not at all.

"She's...lost the heart for a little bit, so she skipped. Not something out of character for her. I kinda think she's been waiting for one of you guys, and you never showed. So she's working out her frustrations at the moment in the Sensoriums, I bet."

She shrugged. "I can take you there, if you want to let her know you're here."

He paused for a moment, eyebrows pinching together. Trying to imagine Lash being downcast or discouraged was rather difficult.

So the sooner he got to the Sensoriums, the better.

"I believe I can find my way there."

That icon is kinda creepy...

"All right man. I just figured, first time on the ship, you might want to be directed first. But hell, I'm the kind of person who;d want to try looking myself so I wouldn't forget."

She gave him a wave. "See ya around."
