Meat n' Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. They are also told they must read information about their current situation and a survival guide with their new omnicom. New crew-mates might see a tall dragonish guy with wings (but don't call him that) and purple girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

"I thought you could use some cheering up." Rarity replied when she looked at the stick he got out from under his sleeve. She watched as he changed the colour of his own suit.

"Ooo. You can do magic too! That is interesting. What's your specialty?" She gazed at the dark yellow and kept in mind of the shade that she could use for her other designs.

"The colour won't last long on the suit though. I have been trying to examine the fabric to alter its properties but it has been rather tricky so far."

"That's fine, I don't want to stick out like a sore thumb anyway," Cedric smiled, dispelling the charm and reverting it to the blue-green color.

"I don't know if I have a specialty. I've studied all kinds of magic, but charms are my favourites. They're simple, but effective."

He demonstrated again with a swish, flick, and muttered incantation that caused some spare debris between them to float upward for a few seconds. Then it shrunk into almost non-existence.

"Yours is working with clothing, then?"

"Oh, you're like my friend who is able to do everything." Rarity looked at the debris as it slowly disappeared in front of her eyes.

"Yes, I specializing in clothing and interior designing if the need calls for it. I can manipulate almost every object but I prefer to stick to my craft. I share a clothes shop with another seamstress in the city too."

Cedric was impressed. "You can work with designs for other species, then?" He was grateful to now be clothed, really he was, but pulsing clothing with little brushes slurping away at his skin wasn't exactly what he liked to wear. Robes would violate the secrecy statute, so Muggle-like attire was the way to go. That wasn't so bad, just a jumper and trousers.

"I'd repay you somehow, of course. If there's anything around the shop I can help fix, I'll be there. But it's all right if you're too busy."

"Yes, I have made plenty of human clothes since I woke up here. As long as you're happy and satisfied with your clothes, I will be pleased too." Rarity replied and gave him a little pat on the shoulder.

"When you have time, you're always welcomed to stop by the shop."

Cedric could hardly believe his luck. Oh, it would be quite the relief to change into something more normal.

"I'll stop by, but there's no rush. You'll be busy with all of us, won't you?"

"Not everyone knows about the clothiers initially so if you got a headstart, it's all good." Rarity replied, slightly nervous that she would be swamped and stressed with clothes all over again.

"I'll be there," Cedric promised. "Probably tomorrow. Whatever time it is now, I think we're meant to sleep soon."

'But where' was the question, one he'd have to handle later on.

Rarity looked out of the window. "It is hard to tell time on this ship. You'll get used to it. Take your time to get to know your surroundings too."
