Meat n' Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. They are also told they must read information about their current situation and a survival guide with their new omnicom. New crew-mates might see a tall dragonish guy with wings (but don't call him that) and purple girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

In the moment she turned, he seemed to have crossed the intervening space in no time whatsoever. "You'll quite forgive me for being new to all this," he said, mockery and amusement blended smugly in his voice. "You can spare the time to explain, I'm certain?"

Closeness... not good. Satella took a step back immediately, frowning at the newcomer but trying her best to remain civil for the sake of her status as a crew member.

"If you need any further direction aside from the things on the comm, I don't mind explaining."

"Those devices are so... impersonal, don't you think?" he said, a predatory smile still on his face. "I'd much rather hear the story properly."

Satella crossed her arms over her chest and looked at him sternly.

"I'm not about to retell something that is placed there for your knowledge. But I'm not avert to answering questions if you have any."

"How sad," he said. "Leaving a poor new arrival in the dark to struggle with an alien machine, in the hopes that he can extract from it some hint to the reason he's been taken from his home and all he knows, and placed here with all these strange and monstrous people..."

He didn't bother to pretend like he meant a word of it. If the words alone could make her wince, the tone was unnecessary.

She raised an eyebrow in turn.

"If what this ship's purpose is correct," and not insane like she tends to believe, "The people who pop are capable heroes and warriors from their respective worlds. Sure the thought is shocking, but it shouldn't be hard for them to adjust. So I will assume you are, capable, as well."

"So again, I extend the offer to answer questions, but I won't go into a general spiel that can be read in the device that will be part of your equipment for as long as you're here."

And they'll need it.
