Meat n' Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. They are also told they must read information about their current situation and a survival guide with their new omnicom. New crew-mates might see a tall dragonish guy with wings (but don't call him that) and purple girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

Confusion still was set on his face, but that would probably clear up soon. He hopes so, since he really didn't want to deal with the added bonus of a headache or two around here. And that was not a fun thing to deal with.

"Well, there's that." Oh, time. It really was a big ball of wibbly wobbley timey-wimey stuff. Then again, maybe he's right. Maybe he really is his future self and he wasn't aware of it yet. Did that mean that the one standing in front of him was capable of regeneration? Hm.

"So, then, what happened to make you my future self, if you really are that?"

Okay...plan 'pretend to be future self' is a go. Partly because that's about...ninety-eight percent true anyway. There's only the minor detail where he's one of two of his future selves. And the one heart thing, not that it counts for much.

He's pulling this off. Right? "Uh...time? What tends to make one a future version of someone else?"

[identity profile] whotheman.livejournal.com 2011-10-04 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, of course the answer was time. The Doctor wasn't that dimwitted!

"I was just testing you." Liar. He was still trying to get over there being more than one of him roaming about on Stacy. But, he still played it off rather casually.

[identity profile] thatsveryhim.livejournal.com 2011-10-13 12:39 pm (UTC)(link)
...Well, as long as it means he's pulling this off, he can't really begrudge a little bit of cluelessness from his past self. And it's not as if he would have any reason to jump to 'biological metacrisis', given he ought to be impossible.

"Good job I passed it, then, it might get a bit awkward having my past self disbelieve me."

[identity profile] whotheman.livejournal.com 2011-10-13 01:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"It would, wouldn't it?" he commented with another smile. He did, however, want to see just what could have caused a clone version of himself to be around here, though.

Maybe that could have come later.

[identity profile] thatsveryhim.livejournal.com 2011-10-13 01:54 pm (UTC)(link)
It's thoughtful of him to let his other self carry on believing he was selling the not-a-clone thing.

"Oh yes, imagine how those motivational speeches would go."

[identity profile] whotheman.livejournal.com 2011-10-13 02:07 pm (UTC)(link)
When entirely the opposite is occurring with that, but he'll let it go. For now. Maybe.

"Oh, of course. Wouldn't that be a fun thing?"

[identity profile] thatsveryhim.livejournal.com 2011-10-13 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
So his sense of accomplishment is entirely based on the Doctor's self control concerning matters of correcting people?

"No, because then people will die."

[identity profile] whotheman.livejournal.com 2011-10-17 11:22 am (UTC)(link)
Pretty much, yes.

"Oh, don't tell me you don't know how to do a good motivational speech," he said, giving his supposed "future self" a look.

Dude these tags, where did they even go

[identity profile] thatsveryhim.livejournal.com 2011-10-31 01:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. So he should go ahead and kiss that goodbye while he still can, then.

"Oi, I can work a brilliant motivational speech! But it's all undercut when even my past self isn't convinced, isn't it?"
