Not a robot invasion [Closed]
There was a Grinder in the City.
A dangerous, world-conquering Grinder. A footsoldier in the machine army that had nigh-obliterated humanity on an Earth.
And it was apparently taking a casual stroll throughout the City.
It was certainly looking for something, but what?

Will transformed and flying towards evil robot? Check.
Blast of Quintessence going towards that robot? Also check.
Will wasn't going to let something that looked so very obviously evil stay functioning. For all she knew, this thing could be planning to destroy a good portion of the ship. At the very least, she was going to have to beat it up and then use her magic to bring it to life to interrogate it to figure out what it was after.

"Hey!" Tenaya shouted. "What, do people just normally beat up anything on the streets, or did I just run into the weirdest person here?"

Will, you do remember how long it's been since the last shore leave, right?

She knelt down and started working on the Grinder. "Great. Just when I needed it to find something..."

And with that, she moved to blast the Grinder with her Quintessence again, but this time intent on bringing it back online rather than blasting it into more pieces.
... It would probably talk after though. Hopefully it wouldn't be annoying.

"Like, how'd I end up on the floor?"
Tenaya palmed her face. "You have got to be kidding me."

She stood up as the Grinder looked around in a daze. "So you can zap machines and make them start talking?"
"Hey, you look familiar," the Grinder said. "Did we go to school together?"
"I'm not even going to start on what's wrong with that question," Tenaya growled. "Any chance you can zap some intelligence into this?"
no subject
She winced at that question. "Umm... that I'm not too sure about. I've never tried to guide what personality the machines got before."

"There was a computer virus in this. You'll know it if you hear it--deep voice, whole attitude of 'You have failed me for the last time.' I think the infection might have jumped somewhere else, but I don't know where to start. If you can hear just the trace of the virus left behind, I'm hoping I can find where it is now."

And then her eyes widened as she heard that deep voice that Tenaya had mentioned. God, that was loud. Even that said, she couldn't understand just what it was saying. Hopefully Tenaya could hear it too and have better luck than she was.

"That's him all right," she growled.
"Who is that?" the Grinder asked. "Is that your boyfriend?"
Without another thought, Tenaya kicked it to shut it up. "Okay. So he was definitely in there. But now where is he?"

And now she turned back to the Grinder. "You. Keep looking for the Garage."
"But why would I want to look for a smelly old garage?" the Grinder whined.
"Do it, or she zaps you again," Tenaya threatened. Yes, she was using you as a threat, Will.
no subject
She didn't comment on the threat, though something did come to mind just then. "Oh. I'm Will. What's your name?"

Glaring, Tenaya downmorphed her blaster and let her visor slide over her eyes.
"That's definitely Venjix, but I'm having a hard time tracking him."
no subject
And as such, Will sent out another pulse of Quintessence.

She hit the ground and gave the both of them a friendly wave, smiling behind her mask. She was too comfortable in her Rider suit for now, but she would eventually de-henshin soon.

"Nothing," she said easily. "Just mapping out the City a little more."
