Reflections of time amidst a flurry of arrows [Open]
Kate had done a patrol in the city earlier, and she debated on stopping by the Media library for something to watch. Something to distract her from the encounter with Ir.. no, *Nathanial*. Otherwise now mini-Kang in the making. All that work he did, everything to stop it, and asking for their help. Well, mainly Eli, Teddy, and Billy's help since Cassie and her came late into the game there. Still. They tried to help too. Until they found out what that help would mean.
She sighed, and her steps took her to the Sensoriums. But she wasn't going to use it for sentimental reasons. Oh no. Even if the surroundings resembled the training room of the Clubhouse, it was for function and practice. Not to get lost in nostalgia, there's a clear difference as she sighted her target and fired another arrow.
Wasn't there?

The girl violently forced the image of her friends' broken bodies lying in the snow out of her mind, sorrow sharpening into a sharp focus. A moment later, she'd fired, the resulting strike hitting the target fast and hard. Maybe it wasn't quite as direct as hitting a punching bag with her fists, but it worked.
By now, Rei felt an overwhelming sense of loss burning through her---but that would have to wait a bit longer, until she could grieve in private. Time to attempt to deflect the conversation off her. "What about the Avengers? Are they here?"

She then quietly said, "There isn't. Well there's Spiderman, but he's from much earlier."

Rei exhaled and loaded the bow. Inhaled. Exhaled again and fired. There, that wasn't so hard. "So it's us, our team, and the crew against...whatever's out in this universe."

She then sighed, and loaded her own bow again. Firing several shots quick and fast. Silent approval toward Rei's shots as well.
"More like another friend doesn't remember that we exist. Involves time travel and alternate universes."

"I know a little about that myself. Reincarnating in another reality, having to find each other again. But none of us remembered in our case. Did youu tell them?"
no subject
"Reincarnating? Ok I got to hear this."
She fired another shot, and sighed, "We told him. He didn't believe us at all. And he's a total jerk now. Already sounding like the villain he was supposed to stop himself from becoming."

"This probably sounds ridiculous, but...in my universe, a kingdom existed on Earth's moon many years ago. It was ruled by Queen Serenity, who fawned over her daughter, the young Moon Princess. Along with Princesses Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter, I served on her court as a guardian."
"Disaster struck when the princess fell in love with Earth's prince. They met each other in secret for a time---then, the jealous Queen Beryl rallied the people of Earth against the Lunarians and started an invasion. We defended the kingdom with all we had, but Beryl and her generals slaughtered all of us. Only the queen remained. She used the last of her Silver Crystal's power to send us to the future, where we would be reborn and get another chance at a normal life." She lets out a short, ironic chuckle.
"That didn't happen. I lived as a schoolgirl and miko for the first fourteen years of my life, then got my powers from the reincarnated Moon Princess's talking cat. That's when the crime-fighting started." That explained, Rei returns to Kate's issue.
"Oh. Being told that other people you don't remember know everything about you is definitely unsettling. But...deep down, there has to be part of the person you remember. Then again, I know from experience that sometimes you'll get killed before the person gets a clue. I wish I knew what to say, but I didn't deal with that situation too well myself."
