A Housewarming Party for a Castle

Celestia's new home was a grand residence indeed: the citadel of Camelot, a place which featured heavily in the myths and legends of Earth. Not that Celestia was familiar with these myths, of course.

Guests were free to wonder around the castle at will, but Celestia had decided that today, the courtyard would be a lovely place for everypony to get together. There were a few tables set up, with the treats Hoshi and Applejack had so generously made, and Rarity's beautiful decorations. And later, Celestia planned to invite her guests to ride on the Ferris wheel that happened to be located just outside the castle.

The crewmembers had suffered a great loss recently, but she hoped that this would bring them some small amount of joy, and the comfort of friendship in this time.

[[ooc: Sorry this is a day late guys, uni ended up being much more hectic yesterday than I expected. Anyways, I've put up a subthread for Celestia greeting visitors and rides on the London Eye. Those that ICly helped out this party can also set up sub-threads for the food tables/games/whatever as well, if you guys want to. (Edit: The sub-thread for Hoshi & Applejack's nibbles is up here!)

But other than that, feel free to start your own threads and tag each other. People can also wonder around and explore the castle - it's the BBC Merlin version of Camelot, but only the citadel itself (as opposed to the whole city).]]

"Yes, I get that, I know. But the more you're surrounded by these people in pain, the less you want to take a rest or try to act like its too hard. I want those hurt in there to know I will give a hundred and ten percent to make sure I make them as comfortable as I possibly can, within reason."

Of course within reason: she was still a nurse.

"Wait, what?" That definitely caught her off guard. "What are you talking about? One of the things you like is your ability to come and go where you can. I couldn't possibly ask you to just forgo your time to help me. I mean, we need the help, I'm not an idiot, but wouldn't you rather be in other places on the ship?"

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-09-09 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes," he replied, eyes skimming over building after building as the ferris wheel began its first descent. His fingers moved from her shoulder to her hair to idly twirl wayward strands of hair and tug them straight.

"Which is why, if I mentioned it, it is precisely the place that I wish to be. Will it be an inconvenience to you?"

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2011-09-09 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
Kaya reddened. She never expected him to say that, and it was like a warm glow had just come over her body, and when he touched her hair there was such a feeing of tenderness in her she had to blink, and quietly compose herself.

She had wondered, briefly, if Nokosi might have regretted events past, but she didn't now. Knowing that made her free to care about him as much as she wanted, and shesmoothed his cheek.

"Somehow, I think I'll manage," she said, and pulled him into a kiss, there, as the ferrish wheel arose to the highest peak again.

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-09-09 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Nokosi was all ready to laugh at Kaya for the current state of her crimson face, but before he could even get out the second 'ha', he was muffled by a pleasant pressure against his mouth.

The combination of soft lips and a gentle caress were doing wonderful things to him and he leaned into the kiss, eager to keep the warm embrace between their mouths. A hand slid beneath her hair to tickle the fine hairs at the nape of her neck, while the other firmly held onto the chilled, metal bar that ran across the seat.

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2011-09-10 01:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Another fine level of goosebumps ran up her spine, but she deepened the kiss, happy she could finally have this time to spend alone with him. This had turned out to be a good idea after all: even with the lack of actual sunlight and sunset in the city, the view was spectacular.

She wrapped an arm around his waist too, a hand trailing up to run her hands through his hair again. His long was one of the features Kaya might have liked best on him: all purple and perfectly framing his face, along with that serene luck he maintained constantly.

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
It was strange for him, as casually as he was used to seeing kisses passed around in Stormwind. The action hadn't meant much in his eyes previously, but now he was aware of the small things that made all the difference in the world when it came to locking lips.

The hand that previously caressed her neck now smoothed down her back and he pushed her forward, firmly pressing the girl against his form. His lips parted, allowing her access to his mouth and he shut his eyes to further focus on the simplicity of a kiss.

He almost wished it were cold so that he could better appreciate the warmth shared between the closeness of their bodies. Even more-so because he found the pale, pink color that rose to her cheeks in chilled weather, endearing.

Kaya had to admit that all of the horrible things she had been through, all of the pain and fear and nervousness that had followed her since the Ohm attack seemed to melt away. Nokosi had always had a way of making her feel like she could forget her troubles, something that she had always been grateful for. But now that she and he were like this, it did more than simply made her feel better.

The ferris wheel may as well have not been there at all: she felt like she was flying, higher and higher, and with the man who had somehow found a way to at least heal some of the trauma she'd felt in the last few days.

She opened her mouth and caressed her tongue with his, her hands holding him closer. There were no words that she could say to convey her emotions now. She just wanted to hold him close.

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
His grip tightened around her possessively, and perhaps just a little too tightly. It was something he would hardly notice unless it was pointed out to him, but at this moment he was more involved in other matters. Namely, the smooth column of her neck that looked completely delectable in this lighting.

Without thinking, his tongue peeked out to wet his lips and he pressed them against her throat. Small pecks and nips trailed up to her ear where he planted a firm kiss. His many earrings jostled and jingled as he moved his head back down along her neck and the hand that had been clutching the metal bar on the seat found its way along her side.

He was somewhat aware of what was deemed 'appropriate display of affection' in a public setting, though it really all came down to whether he cared or not.

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
Kaya always seemed to find herself bewildered by the passion that Nokosi possessed. He could be carefree, almost idle, and then he would strike you where you least expected, his ministrations hitting the spots that made you feel all excited and breathless.

Which, for Kaya, was a bad idea: she was liking it, a lot, and had an idea of what some people might say if they were to see the two of them as they were. More importantly, to Kaya anyway, was knowing that this passion could grow at a far more rapid rate than even she could contain.

In the end, she doubted she could trust herself.

"N-nokosi," she whispered. "We should probably take this slow. We're both pretty passionate people."

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
He stopped rather abruptly and rose his gaze to meet hers. The expression on her face caused him to laugh and he untangled his limbs from her body. It was probably a good thing that she spoke up, because he saw absolutely nothing wrong with the rather compromising position they were in.

"You might be right," he said in partial agreement. He playfully flicked her ear as he spoke and managed to straighten up his rumbled clothes in the meantime. "It's strange, I think. I was once told by a rather amorous man that a kiss was the dot on the 'i' of adoration. I did not know what he meant then, but I do now."

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
She wondered if he realized how reluctant she was to stop what they were doing: it was not unlike that long time ago, when she was Katara, that she and Aang had gotten very heavy with each other until Stacy had stopped them. Now she was reliving that moment all over again, except she was the one that had to stop herself.

She giggled at the flick, and then blew gently into his ear. "He definitely hit that on the head. Those kisses of yours leave me out of breath, Nokosi!"

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
His ear twitched when she blew onto it and he felt a shiver run up his spine. "I am glad, then. 'Breathless' is a good look for you." He'd meant it, too. It was one of those odd, little moments that he found incredibly attractive in people.

Nokosi slid an arm around her shoulder and pulled her into a hug. He nuzzled his cheek against hers, tickling her with the scruff on his chin that never seemed to grow past stubble. "As much as I enjoy the bit of praise regarding my skills at kissing, I feel compelled to know if you are feeling any better, Kaya?"

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
Kaya giggled. "And I'm just glad to know that you feel the same way. I wanted to tread lightly, just so we had time to develop our feelings, but we've sort of been doing that for awhile in our own way, haven't we? Friends, and now here, enjoying each other's company."

Even if they were definitely doing more than that.

She hugged back, her hands gently smoothing his scruff, then stroking his cheek with her closed hand. "Nokosi, being around you had never really ceased to make me feel better. I can honestly tell you that right now? I have to make myselfgo back because of how great you make me feel."

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 07:00 am (UTC)(link)
He regarded her with a beaming smile, one that spoke volumes without him ever uttering a word.

"Then I shall walk you back to Medbay and we can bask in that feeling a little bit longer, then."

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'd like that," Kaya said, her face glowing-not with a blush, but with the simple knowledge that he was going to be around.

Right now, no amount of suffering and/or death could kill that feeling.

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
For now he was content to simply hold her hand and marvel over the view as the ferris wheel completed its trip, even though being this high up in the air was something he was used to.

"This almost reminds me of the Lunar Festival. If only there were fireworks!"

When the contraption churned to a stop, Nokosi helped her out of the seat and hopped off the platform to the ride. "When we have the free time, we should do something like this again, Kaya!"

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
"Maybe one day, you can recreate the Lunar festival in the Sensoriums," Kaya said, holding his hand, beaming over at him. "I'd love to see what its like when you get the chance!"

She hopped off, into his arms. "This was great, really. Thank you, Nokosi."

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
His head tilted slightly to the left and he pursed his lips, as if in thought. "Ronnae and I were speaking of something like that when I saw her in Medbay. We were making paper lanterns together and I asked if she remembered how they hung on the trees during the Lunar Festival." He suddenly grinned from ear to ear.

"She did. We decided to hang them in the trees that make up our homes to represent our families, though there aren't any wisps here to light them up." And he wasn't really willing to put a candle in lanterns that small, either.

"So perhaps we will all celebrate when everyone has recovered from their injuries," he said, hugging the girl to him immediately after catching her. "And there is no need to thank me; it is not like I did it alone. You are responsible for your own happiness, too."

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
Kaya listened, entranced by what he was telling her. It wasn't actually a completely foreign concept: it sounded like something yu might see in the Erath Kingdom or even the Fire Nation. It was, in fact, one of the biggest surprises she had when traveling to the other nations: an envy in how different things were, that climate was less of a hindrance and all of these other philosophies and concepts could bloom.

It was one of the things that made her happy to be on the ship, in fact. The hug alone made her happy that she really never felt alone on the ship, that she was aa part of it as the others were of her.

"I know that," she said, linking his hand again. "But I have you to thank, for giving that responsibility embedded in me. One of the worst faukts I have is seeing the best in others, but not so much in me."

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-09-14 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
He actually looked quite surprised to hear that. "Really? You carry yourself as if you are confident about such things; I would not have guessed. Hm," he hummed, scratching his chin in thought.

"Perhaps I shall need to write a list, then."

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2011-09-15 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
Kaya giggled. "You don't need to make a list! I'm just saying that I care a lot about people, sometimes more than myself! It doesn't mean my confidence is suffering or anything. I'm actually a fairly confident person, to the point of nausea in some people!"

She took his hand. "Besides, you're the one that needs the list: you're the most unlike others I've ever met."

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-09-15 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah, I have you one upped! I can cause nausea in others without even having an apparent ego." Not to say he would ever sell himself short; the humble attitude was in place because he preferred hearing about what others could do. He already knew himself well enough so that he didn't need to question it.

"You think so? I admit I may be strange by conventional standards, but I do not mind."

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2011-09-15 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
"I doubt that!" Kaya said. "Sure, I think there might be some people who get put off by you, but I can't say that there would be too many people who would find you nauseating! Granted, people are still a bit of a mystery to me, and you are probably the biggest one."

Not that she minded him being strange: it actually attracted her more, not less.

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-09-15 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, you would be surprised in Azeroth! Many people there have very low tolerance rates; not that I could blame them, I suppose." He could, he just wouldn't.

He glanced at Kaya, a smile on his face. Even just a simple walk like this with her was refreshing. "As far as being a mystery...I am very open. If you want to know something, just ask me. I am very honest, I just am not very forthcoming with information about myself without being prompted."

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2011-09-15 12:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well you would have to explain all of that to me," Kaya said. "I know only a little about the people of Azeroth, and even less about how they would cope with someone like you. I only know that there is only one person that would not get frustrated, though possibly a little exasperated at your behavior, and only then it would be with a amusement too, isnce you have away of making someone laugh even when you're driving them crazy."

She wasn't driven crazy by him as of YET, but then she was a bit biased, wasn't she?

"Well, I'll keep that in mind," she said, more than glad she had chosen her breath of fresh air from the medical bay here. "I'm very likely going to be very interested about things concerning you. Don't forget: you still owe me a rendevous at the Drunken Dragon."
