A Housewarming Party for a Castle
Celestia's new home was a grand residence indeed: the citadel of Camelot, a place which featured heavily in the myths and legends of Earth. Not that Celestia was familiar with these myths, of course.
Guests were free to wonder around the castle at will, but Celestia had decided that today, the courtyard would be a lovely place for everypony to get together. There were a few tables set up, with the treats Hoshi and Applejack had so generously made, and Rarity's beautiful decorations. And later, Celestia planned to invite her guests to ride on the Ferris wheel that happened to be located just outside the castle.
The crewmembers had suffered a great loss recently, but she hoped that this would bring them some small amount of joy, and the comfort of friendship in this time.
[[ooc: Sorry this is a day late guys, uni ended up being much more hectic yesterday than I expected. Anyways, I've put up a subthread for Celestia greeting visitors and rides on the London Eye. Those that ICly helped out this party can also set up sub-threads for the food tables/games/whatever as well, if you guys want to. (Edit: The sub-thread for Hoshi & Applejack's nibbles is up here!)
But other than that, feel free to start your own threads and tag each other. People can also wonder around and explore the castle - it's the BBC Merlin version of Camelot, but only the citadel itself (as opposed to the whole city).]]

"Ah...could you be more specific in your definition of 'romance'?"
She was talking about the way other people gave gifts to their lovers and took them to certain places. Said certain cute words and phrases, all in the pursuits of 'being romantic'? He could only assume, and if that were the case it made him all the more perplexed.
no subject
"Well, a lot of people have different versions of romance, don't get me wrong. They observe anniversaries and call each other names and all of that. I've seen it happen in my village. You have a way of surpassing it, like you take a direct route of being beyond convention. You just...you just feel your actions, and you just are amazing and sincere."
She smiled, showing him the note he had written to her: it was very worn, as if it had been unfolded and refolded many times.
no subject
Of course, being called 'amazing' brought a smile to his lips. Oh, how he loved praise, no matter what amount it came in.
Nokosi blinked in surprise when he glanced down at the note, then immediately laughed. "My strokes are very messy when I am attempting to write anything beyond symbols," he mentioned, as if that were the most important thing worth saying about the note. Suddenly he paused in mid-stride and leaned down to cover her mouth with his own.
It was a firm kiss with little of his earlier aggression. Instead, it was calm and focused, as if he were trying to convey something without using words. A gentle, barely-there kiss would have probably been far more appropriate for the situation, but practice made perfect.
"I was thinking about you," he said in reference to the note, closing her hand over the weathered paper as he spoke.
no subject
She giggled. "Your notes! All I cared about was-" but her words were stopped short when his lips met hers, when her feelings hit a pitch being around him, her hands wrapping around him for the moment, indulging in this kiss.
When they were apart, she turned pin at his words.
"I'll admit, I was in a bad moment before your note. I thought that the lovely things in the world were somehow dying, being around all of the pain and troubles of others. Then I read your note and was brought back to my safe space again. You reminded me life is never in a set pattern we would want, and when trouble came, to fight it, head on. You make me...want to be stronger than I am."
no subject
"I...am very glad to hear such a thing. Life is unpredictable but that is one of the joys in living it! Personally I would say you already are a very strong person, Kaya. And...that is one the things I like about you."
no subject
And then letter had come, and renewed her strength. After the letter, nothing could make her feel haunted by her own feelings again.
"I guess if we need to remember strength and character, we don't need to look much farther than each other." She thought Nokosi still understood it anyway, but it felt good to know he found it in her too.
no subject
"I hope you keep that attitude. You still have much, much more work left to do." Unfortunately. "But perhaps your burden should be lessened during the times I am around to help," he said with a grin.
no subject
She nodded, then took his hand in hers.
no subject
He smoothed his fingers over her hand as they walked, attempting to map out the different textures on it before they reached their destination. "Besides that, I am sure Fontaine will want to see you as well. He complained about the lack of female nurses with free time, so I am sure he will enjoy your company."
no subject
She laughed. "Well in that case, I'll have to make it a mission to visit more, wouldn't want to upset Fontaine. Has he gotten along any better with Billy?"
no subject
"I think 'reluctant acceptance' would be the best way to describe it. He does not actively dislike Billy, but he does not like him, either. He is neutral on the subject as of now, I would say. He does realize that if he wishes to see Ronnae while he is recovering, he may need to be in Billy's presence as well, so he will be on his best behavior, at least."
And if Billy didn't visit with Ronnae, well, then Fontaine was going to monopolize all the time with her.
no subject
Then, she startled. "Wait a moment. You said female nurses. Did something happen to Fontaine?!"
no subject
It was true; they shared the strangest traits and habits at times; the most obvious one was being stubborn. As many years as they had spent alongside each other, it wasn't a surprise. As of yet their most offending traits hadn't rubbed off on each other just yet.
Her surprise at his words caused him to turn his gaze back to her, an eyebrow furrowed. "Yes. Did I not mention such a thing?" he questioned, his fingers smoothing over his chin. "Ah! Only to Billy and Ronnae--she was there, of course. He was moderately injured in a number of places during that battle--though I have the advantage of fighting from afar and suffered minor injuries, he was on the field with Ronnae, fighting behind her."
no subject
Kaya's eyes bugged. "No, you definitely did not mention that! If I'd known that, I would have come to visit straight away, the poor thing! In that case, we'll have to make a run to the bus, so I can at least make him some soup and take a look at his wounds. Poor Fontaine..."
Kaya is in pure mothering mode now, thanks Nokosi.
no subject
"He will appreciate it--he does take much joy out of being pampered by people other than me, mostly because I am not some young, beautiful girl. Though, he cannot quite walk yet and he is much too large for me to carry." It would be like attempting to lift a horse in his arms. Maybe if he were a Dwarf, Orc or some sort of class that relied on his strength, it might be possible. For now, it would be impossible.
"His injuries are varied but they ar mostly burns," he further explained. "I think given time, his and Billy's relationship will improve." Maybe.
no subject
"In that case, I'll start looking into treating him ith some slaves," Kaya sais. "we still have some time before they need me in med bay after all: we can still attend to him! Why he needs a beu-ah, pretty girl is beyond me, but at least this way e can help him to feel better!"
She nodded. "I hope so. Billy is usually very accomodating and tries to get people to like him."
no subject
"But you needn't rush yourself to squeeze time in; I would be a very poor Hunter if I did not know how to care for my animal companions. Even more-so, I am an alchemist, so I have many restorative salves and oils on hand," he said, rather proudly.
"If you'd like, you can stop by to see him after your shift in Medical is over. We can share a meal as well." It wouldn't be a fantastic meal, but it would be more appetizing than slop, at least. He was really hoping they would get shore leave time in sooner than later--some resupplies are much needed.
