A Housewarming Party for a Castle
Celestia's new home was a grand residence indeed: the citadel of Camelot, a place which featured heavily in the myths and legends of Earth. Not that Celestia was familiar with these myths, of course.
Guests were free to wonder around the castle at will, but Celestia had decided that today, the courtyard would be a lovely place for everypony to get together. There were a few tables set up, with the treats Hoshi and Applejack had so generously made, and Rarity's beautiful decorations. And later, Celestia planned to invite her guests to ride on the Ferris wheel that happened to be located just outside the castle.
The crewmembers had suffered a great loss recently, but she hoped that this would bring them some small amount of joy, and the comfort of friendship in this time.
[[ooc: Sorry this is a day late guys, uni ended up being much more hectic yesterday than I expected. Anyways, I've put up a subthread for Celestia greeting visitors and rides on the London Eye. Those that ICly helped out this party can also set up sub-threads for the food tables/games/whatever as well, if you guys want to. (Edit: The sub-thread for Hoshi & Applejack's nibbles is up here!)
But other than that, feel free to start your own threads and tag each other. People can also wonder around and explore the castle - it's the BBC Merlin version of Camelot, but only the citadel itself (as opposed to the whole city).]]

"As for what it is, it is a large creature that is used by the Alliance for transportation. They have the forelegs, head and wings of an eagle with the hindquarters of a lion. They are really smart--which is why if you insult them they might toss you off them. They also love horses," he explained, beginning to ramble off. He was quick to stop himself, however.
"In any case, I am simply glad that you were able to take a moment out of your hectic life to enjoy yourself," Nokosi said, giving her hand a comforting squeeze. "You will still be plenty busy for awhile?"
no subject
Really, what was with these worlds where there was only one kind of species of an animal? It was so strange!
Then he actually described the animal. "If a gryphon has those parts, why call him a gryphon instead of, say, an Eaglion, or a Liagle? It seems like that would make sense, wouldn't it?"
She didn't get why it would love horses though. Horses didn't fly too in his world, did they?
"I'll always make time for you, I've told you that before, remember?" Kaya said, squeezing his hand back. "And yes, I'm pretty much living in the medbay at this point: I barely have time to sleep."
no subject
He didn't think to clarify that gryphons love eating horses. He thought it was implied.
Nokosi made a face at her troubling admission of a full schedule, but didn't complain about it. Instead, he smoothed a hand over her hair and for once, noted how much shorter she was in comparison to him.
"I really should not be the one who chastises you on such a thing, considering my own erratic sleeping pattern, but you should probably work on getting a full night of rest. The Medbay can live without your presence for a few hours in every day."
no subject
She laughed. "I don't mind helping by using my abilities in the way that will benefit those people. It's a decision I simply made after I saw those people in pain, or finding out Superman is dead. Of course I will try to get rest when its possible for me, but more important than that is knowing I can be of help."
Kaya put her hyand over his. "But I think I can be selfish for a few hours, admiring the view with you like this, seeing how hard Celestia and her ponies workes to make this place for people to be happy. That's help in another way too."
no subject
He paused, his gaze lingering on her face for a long moment before simply sighing. Even he knew that his logic wasn't going to deter her so easily. "I suppose there is no use for it; I will assist you in your work. I may not have any knowledge in magical or supernatural healing abilities, but I am very learned in traditional first aid."
no subject
Of course within reason: she was still a nurse.
"Wait, what?" That definitely caught her off guard. "What are you talking about? One of the things you like is your ability to come and go where you can. I couldn't possibly ask you to just forgo your time to help me. I mean, we need the help, I'm not an idiot, but wouldn't you rather be in other places on the ship?"
no subject
"Which is why, if I mentioned it, it is precisely the place that I wish to be. Will it be an inconvenience to you?"
no subject
She had wondered, briefly, if Nokosi might have regretted events past, but she didn't now. Knowing that made her free to care about him as much as she wanted, and shesmoothed his cheek.
"Somehow, I think I'll manage," she said, and pulled him into a kiss, there, as the ferrish wheel arose to the highest peak again.
no subject
The combination of soft lips and a gentle caress were doing wonderful things to him and he leaned into the kiss, eager to keep the warm embrace between their mouths. A hand slid beneath her hair to tickle the fine hairs at the nape of her neck, while the other firmly held onto the chilled, metal bar that ran across the seat.
no subject
She wrapped an arm around his waist too, a hand trailing up to run her hands through his hair again. His long was one of the features Kaya might have liked best on him: all purple and perfectly framing his face, along with that serene luck he maintained constantly.
no subject
The hand that previously caressed her neck now smoothed down her back and he pushed her forward, firmly pressing the girl against his form. His lips parted, allowing her access to his mouth and he shut his eyes to further focus on the simplicity of a kiss.
He almost wished it were cold so that he could better appreciate the warmth shared between the closeness of their bodies. Even more-so because he found the pale, pink color that rose to her cheeks in chilled weather, endearing.
no subject
The ferris wheel may as well have not been there at all: she felt like she was flying, higher and higher, and with the man who had somehow found a way to at least heal some of the trauma she'd felt in the last few days.
She opened her mouth and caressed her tongue with his, her hands holding him closer. There were no words that she could say to convey her emotions now. She just wanted to hold him close.
no subject
Without thinking, his tongue peeked out to wet his lips and he pressed them against her throat. Small pecks and nips trailed up to her ear where he planted a firm kiss. His many earrings jostled and jingled as he moved his head back down along her neck and the hand that had been clutching the metal bar on the seat found its way along her side.
He was somewhat aware of what was deemed 'appropriate display of affection' in a public setting, though it really all came down to whether he cared or not.
no subject
Which, for Kaya, was a bad idea: she was liking it, a lot, and had an idea of what some people might say if they were to see the two of them as they were. More importantly, to Kaya anyway, was knowing that this passion could grow at a far more rapid rate than even she could contain.
In the end, she doubted she could trust herself.
"N-nokosi," she whispered. "We should probably take this slow. We're both pretty passionate people."
no subject
"You might be right," he said in partial agreement. He playfully flicked her ear as he spoke and managed to straighten up his rumbled clothes in the meantime. "It's strange, I think. I was once told by a rather amorous man that a kiss was the dot on the 'i' of adoration. I did not know what he meant then, but I do now."
no subject
She giggled at the flick, and then blew gently into his ear. "He definitely hit that on the head. Those kisses of yours leave me out of breath, Nokosi!"
no subject
Nokosi slid an arm around her shoulder and pulled her into a hug. He nuzzled his cheek against hers, tickling her with the scruff on his chin that never seemed to grow past stubble. "As much as I enjoy the bit of praise regarding my skills at kissing, I feel compelled to know if you are feeling any better, Kaya?"
no subject
Even if they were definitely doing more than that.
She hugged back, her hands gently smoothing his scruff, then stroking his cheek with her closed hand. "Nokosi, being around you had never really ceased to make me feel better. I can honestly tell you that right now? I have to make myselfgo back because of how great you make me feel."
no subject
"Then I shall walk you back to Medbay and we can bask in that feeling a little bit longer, then."
no subject
Right now, no amount of suffering and/or death could kill that feeling.
no subject
"This almost reminds me of the Lunar Festival. If only there were fireworks!"
When the contraption churned to a stop, Nokosi helped her out of the seat and hopped off the platform to the ride. "When we have the free time, we should do something like this again, Kaya!"
no subject
She hopped off, into his arms. "This was great, really. Thank you, Nokosi."
no subject
"She did. We decided to hang them in the trees that make up our homes to represent our families, though there aren't any wisps here to light them up." And he wasn't really willing to put a candle in lanterns that small, either.
"So perhaps we will all celebrate when everyone has recovered from their injuries," he said, hugging the girl to him immediately after catching her. "And there is no need to thank me; it is not like I did it alone. You are responsible for your own happiness, too."
no subject
It was one of the things that made her happy to be on the ship, in fact. The hug alone made her happy that she really never felt alone on the ship, that she was aa part of it as the others were of her.
"I know that," she said, linking his hand again. "But I have you to thank, for giving that responsibility embedded in me. One of the worst faukts I have is seeing the best in others, but not so much in me."
no subject
"Perhaps I shall need to write a list, then."
