After the battle, the warriors' task was over. Their job, for now, was to rest and recover for the time being.

The healers' job, on the other hand, was far from over. Some exhausted from the battle, others rotating in, they took to their bay and continued the process of treating the wounded. Some patients were free to leave in a few minutes, while others would have some time (or quite some time) on the cots. Their mission: relax. Stay as still as possible.

Unfortunately, the temptation of so many familiar faces alive and about would ultimately prove to be too great. Keeping track of this group was going to be a third task all its own.

[this is a free for all for all your injured! Have them socialize, be thorns in the medics' side, try to escape, or bring the medics together for some action. Just note in your post if you'd like a medic to visit your character---if not, it's time for a chat!]

"It wasn't normal for me either," Aqua confessed. "No matter how much I've had to fight."

There's a faint sigh, then the detective closes his eyes. "I just hope it doesn't become normal for us."

"Same here," Aqua agreed. "My name's Aqua--I'm training as a medic, though I also joined the magical department."

There was a light nod from Shou, and he held a hand up for a rather awkwardly-angled handshake. "Hidari Shoutarou - private detective, and I'm in security."

Aqua didn't comment on the awkwardness of the handshake. They were all tired.

"Pleased to meet you. You're not scheduled for patrol soon, are you?"

"Likewise." Once the handshake ended, Shou's arm dropped to his side, and he makes a thoughtful face. "...I don't know. If so, I'll probably go. I think I can handle riding around a bit." He chuckles. "Just have to hope everyone's too wore out to cause a problem."

"I should probably stop you, but I know the feeling," Aqua admitted. "How are you with magic healing? I might be able to give you just enough of a boost."

"Normally I'm too stubborn to listen, but right now, I'm too tired to stand, so you win for now. Won't turn down the healing, though. I... Guess it wouldn't do anything weird. Lash's weird little power boost seemed to work fine on the field."

"All right then," Aqua answered. Much as she was used to using her Keyblade with magic, she really didn't need it to direct a Curaga spell like this. "Heal."

A green light spread from her to Shoutarou, and soon he'd feel his energy increasing--maybe not to normal, but at least to the point where he wouldn't feel half-dead with exhaustion. The aches and pains of his injuries would also be fading away.

There was a moment of wide-eyed surprise as that sensation flowed over him, rejuvenating him. It wasn't 100%, no, but for a stubborn guy like him, it was enough. As it ended, he turned and sat up--then stood up, stretching. "Oh, wow. That's incredible, miss - thanks a lot." He gives her a grin - "You ever need anything, give me a shout."

"No problem," Aqua promised with a smile. "And if you ever need help, just stop by the Masaki house. One of us should be there."

"Oh, you live with Hoshi and Sasami?" Learn something new every day!

"You know them?" Aqua asked in surprise.

"Yeah, Hoshi found me when shortly after I woke up. She seems to have latched onto me pretty tightly." He smiles a bit. "Crossed paths with Sasami a few times here and there."

Aqua smiled. "So you're the one that Hoshi keeps calling her big brother. She does that."

Shoutarou chuckled a bit. "Yeah. Never really had a little sister before - by blood or adoptive, so it's a new experience for me. Definitely a good one, though."

"It's the same with me," Aqua admitted. "I was practically raised by my Master, and the only other students were boys. Brothers I'm used to, but not sisters."

Shou rubs his chin a bit, considering this. "I... I suppose Philip counts as a little brother of sorts, but he's a rather different case compared to Hoshi..."

"I don't doubt it," Aqua agreed. "I met him once. He was...interesting." Which was the polite way to refer to Philip's quirks.

This might be a bad point to bring up that they hooked up - but since Aqua lives with Hoshi, the detective assumes she already knows.

He does chuckle a bit at her assessment. "Definitely interesting. I wouldn't have anyone else as my partner, though."

"You're really lucky to have that friendship," Aqua noted. "It sounds like you balance each other out."
