Holes and Patches [OPEN FREE FOR ALL]

After the battle, the warriors' task was over. Their job, for now, was to rest and recover for the time being.

The healers' job, on the other hand, was far from over. Some exhausted from the battle, others rotating in, they took to their bay and continued the process of treating the wounded. Some patients were free to leave in a few minutes, while others would have some time (or quite some time) on the cots. Their mission: relax. Stay as still as possible.

Unfortunately, the temptation of so many familiar faces alive and about would ultimately prove to be too great. Keeping track of this group was going to be a third task all its own.

[this is a free for all for all your injured! Have them socialize, be thorns in the medics' side, try to escape, or bring the medics together for some action. Just note in your post if you'd like a medic to visit your character---if not, it's time for a chat!]

"I suppose I'll find out later then," he replied with a shrug of his shoulders. If she didn't want to bring it up now, there was no point. Especially not in such a crowded environment as this.

"He will be glad for it! I am sure when you are well again," he started, eyeing her bandages with displeasure. "He will want all of your attention and many scratches of the ear. He is also worried about you, you know. Though speaking of worry, have you seen if Billy is well?"

"I'll be really happy to see him too and... n-no I haven't... I was on my way to go see him when the medics stopped me and placed me here.... And gave me a s-s-s-shot...." She pouted at his friend, rubbing her arm as if it had suffered the most intense pain ever.

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-08-30 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
He leaned forward off the floor and pressed a kiss on the spot that she'd been rubbing. She could stand being run through with a sword, but a needle was the thing that haunted her dreams.

"All better! If you have had all your shots and such, perhaps we should take our leave in about an hour's time so that we may visit your beloved?" By 'take our leave' he totally meant 'sneak around the Medbay'.

Ronnae blushed and smiled, the simple action had always been one that made her feel comforted and she appreciated that Nokosi had done it.

"I like that idea actually. We'll have to take out leave very quietly tho~" She mused, settling down on her bed to rest while looking over at Nokosi.

"Okay!" More adventure: espionage style! "What would you like to do in the remaining hour?" The hour was so that she would have a bit more time to heal; not that she needed to be aware of it.

The elf held up a stack of paper that seemed like it had been taken from different areas around the ship. "I have been folding things in the time I waited for you to awaken. My paper lanterns look like boulders, though."

[identity profile] ronnae.livejournal.com 2011-08-30 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
Ronnae giggled, "Show me one. I'll help you with what I can. Papa Myri showed me how to make a few back home..." The simple mention of one of her close family members brought a pang of pain to her chest, but this was neither the time of place to begin to lose it.

Taking a shuddered breath, she forced a smile and shook her head. "Bet we can make this place seem more inviting~"

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-08-30 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
One of his hands disappeared and when he brought it back up, there was a sharply folded piece of paper in his grasp. It seemed like he'd folded at one-too-many spots and that's what gave it the particular 'boulder' shape he mentioned.

"I'm sure we can; do not overdo it, though."

Nokosi stood and pulled a chair to her bedside then settled into it. While he handed over the paper, he took a moment to examine the many bandages she had covering her body. "So, tell me of your battles during the time we were separated, Ronnae. Were they glorious?"

[identity profile] ronnae.livejournal.com 2011-08-31 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Ronnae made the bed lean up so she had a better spot so she could work, settling on a reclined sitting position. She smiled at the 'boulder' lamp and took it on her lap, working with it slowly to see if she could remember Myrioku's teachings.

She blushed at the question however, knowing all too well that Nokosi was one of the extremely few people who knew about that particular part of herself... One she was incredibly embarrassed about.

"It... it... it was magnificent" she said in a bit of a sultry whisper. "It's been so long since I've f-felt that way Kosi... I... I a-almost c-couldn't help myself..."

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-09-01 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Was it?" He questioned, eyes focused downward on the piece of paper he was folding in his lap. "Battle comes rarely in this place; I am glad we were able to experience the thrill, excitement and fear of such a thing once again."

He held the folded paper to the light and peered up at it, a slow smile spreading on his lips. "How many of the Ohm were you able to take on at once at the peak of battle?"

[identity profile] ronnae.livejournal.com 2011-09-01 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
"I lost count~" she said almost too cheerfully, a bright blush growing on her face.

"It was rather intense, but the more they pushed, the more I got excited and I could feel the blood frenzy take over. I'm glad I've learned to focus it, it feels amazing." Granted the particular focus might not be something you'd speak over dinner at the table, but she was fine with it. She wasn't about to go telling anyone about it.

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-09-01 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"Considering your wounds, I could see how that happened. Perhaps if you wish to defeat more foes at once, you should consider taking up a shield. Ah, if only I had been gifted to be a druid. You could take on and endless amount of enemies!"

Despite their casual conversation, one thing did concern him. "By the by; how is that weapon of yours? Satisfied?"

[identity profile] ronnae.livejournal.com 2011-09-01 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"If I had my shield still I would. But you know me, I've always been the type to enjoy more fluidity in my fighting, even if my other specialty is protecting."

At the latter question her expression changed to a downcast one. "It... it was satisfied to no end... It kept asking for more... It... w-was sort of a driving force..."

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-09-01 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
The change in demeanor was obvious, and though her words might have been a cause for alarm at one time, they served to put his mind at ease. "At least it will be content for the time being so that you may sleep soundly. I would fear the repercussion had you not fought so hard and for so long."

[identity profile] ronnae.livejournal.com 2011-09-02 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
Nokosi, again, was right. He had been her best friend for so long, her confidant and her most trusted ear, so it came to no surprise that he knew of the things that happened in the background, when no one was watching.

She nodded, looking a bit relieved. "Y-yeah... It'll be real nice to get some nice rest, more than usual."

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-09-02 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"Make sure that I do not bother you during such a time, then! You will be better for it, I know," he commented, leaning over the bed to check on the progress of her lantern.

[identity profile] ronnae.livejournal.com 2011-09-02 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't think I could ever stop you from showin' up," she mused, a small smile on her face. "Not that I mind of course, it's reassuring to know you'll always be there."

Her lantern was coming out fairly well actually. Always the meticulous one, she had payed a great deal of attention to Myrioku's teachings and was now almost finished with an oriental style paper lantern.

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 07:43 am (UTC)(link)
"You could," he corrected her. "But then I would have to spend time with you in the engineering lab, and that would end up hilariously terrible."

He settled back down, gingerly brushing a finger over the near-finished lantern as he did. "We should hang them in the trees. There will be no wisps or fireflies to light them up, though. It would remind me a bit of the Lunar Festival."

[identity profile] ronnae.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 09:31 am (UTC)(link)
She giggled and shook her head, "Billy would have my head for that!" It was a joke of course, but it made her smile.

That smile only widened at the proposition, looking down at the lantern with a new-found affection, "I'd... I would like that... Make it feel more like home..."

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"We are in agreement, then! Let us make plenty."

Nokosi flipped through the stack of paper, pulling pieces out, shuffling others in different places and trimming the sizes on some. Finally, he handed her five large sheets of paper: 2 red, 1 purple, 1 black and 1 white. Then he placed a smaller pile of colored squares on top of that: 2 black, 3 red, 2 white., 1 reddish-purple.

Once he'd handed them over, he shuffled through the papers again, but was much slower at removing sheets. "I will not have quite as many lanterns as you, but it will be splendid regardless."

[identity profile] ronnae.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Ronnae nodded happily as she took the papers to her lap, beginning to work diligently as she hummed a little tune her second father taught her from his home.

It was odd, the feeling was nostalgic, almost as if they were back in Azeroth, camping in her room during those days that she was sick. She even felt that warm feeling on her chest as she anticipated mama Naly's stew and strawberry cocoa... Of course it wouldn't arrive this time... This wasn't Azeroth, and they weren't here with her...

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-09-04 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
It's okay, Ronnae. There're some sugar cookies waiting for you at 'home'.

Nokosi finally selected his few sheets of paper, though they wildly varied in color. "We can hang them together once you are feeling better, yes? And perhaps we can also share a meal underneath the tree during the evening, one day this 'week'."

[identity profile] ronnae.livejournal.com 2011-09-04 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
"I'd like that. And we may not have wisps, but I can cook up something in my workshop to give it the familiar glow~ Even if they won't be groping and caressing your tree!" She giggled at the thought, it was an inside joke due to the mannerisms some wisps took when gathering sustenance from the trees or keeping a lookout in the forests.

[identity profile] nokosi.livejournal.com 2011-09-04 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
He laughed but remained silent, focusing instead on the paper animals he was creating. All of this seemed highly nostalgic and he felt anxious while he worked, ready for them to get out of the Medbay and back home. A smile remained on his face, though. One that wouldn't be easily removed.
