Holes and Patches [OPEN FREE FOR ALL]

After the battle, the warriors' task was over. Their job, for now, was to rest and recover for the time being.

The healers' job, on the other hand, was far from over. Some exhausted from the battle, others rotating in, they took to their bay and continued the process of treating the wounded. Some patients were free to leave in a few minutes, while others would have some time (or quite some time) on the cots. Their mission: relax. Stay as still as possible.

Unfortunately, the temptation of so many familiar faces alive and about would ultimately prove to be too great. Keeping track of this group was going to be a third task all its own.

[this is a free for all for all your injured! Have them socialize, be thorns in the medics' side, try to escape, or bring the medics together for some action. Just note in your post if you'd like a medic to visit your character---if not, it's time for a chat!]

He frowned a little. "You are? Do they know that?" Keeping your patient in bed was one thing, but if she was afraid of needles, they shouldn't be threatening her with shots to keep her still.

"Well... I just got here, but as far as I know, almost all of the crew got back here in one piece." With one exception, of course. "Kind of tough right now to track down individual people, though, with everyone running around."

"I see," She was relieved... for the most part. Almost all the crew getting back in one piece was making her nervous, but she didn't have anywhere to go right now...

"I don't know if they know, but it sure i-is effective..." She had already gotten one and it wasn't pleasant.

"You don't have a problem with hyposprays, do you? Maybe I can ask if they'll switch to one of those..."

"So how long are they going to keep you here for? Do you need anything?"

[identity profile] ronnae.livejournal.com 2011-08-29 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"What's a hypospray?" she asked curiously, leaning up a little on the bed with a small wince.

At the latter question she shrugged, "No idea, but I don't intend on occupying this bed for long that's for sure."

She shook her head and smiled, "N-not really... m-maybe something to drink?" Truth be told, she was famished.

"Oh, it's... a sort of handheld device medical personnel use to deliver medicine into the bloodstream. It works using a system of compressed air instead of a needle, and it's pretty much painless." He paused. "Actually, I'm a little surprised they didn't use one in the first place; they're also less likely to cause accidental infection."

He nodded, disappearing into the crowd and returning in a moment with a glass of water. "So, do they feed you down here?"

[identity profile] ronnae.livejournal.com 2011-08-29 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
She listened intently to the description, it almost sounded like the devices used to deliver mana potions and healing potions while on the run that she worked on while practicing engineering... She'll have to look into it.

Once he returned she smiled timidly and nodded in appreciation. "Thanks!" It only took but a second for her to down the entire thing, obviously having been in need of it. "N-not really," She pointed at the iv besides her and shrugged, "I guess things are really busy and that should do..." But they don't know the importance of drinks and food to this girl!

Magical (or semi-magical) means of healing hadn't even occurred to Zouichi, who was rather used to a world where none existed.

He raised an eyebrow at the speed with which she downed the glass. "And if they set you up with an IV, I guess they're planning to keep you here for a while. How did you end up injured, anyway?"

[identity profile] ronnae.livejournal.com 2011-08-29 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
That... was the question she didn't want to answer. Her biggest injury and the only one that really put her out of the combat was due to a reckless mistake... Something she would have done at the beginning of her training during the war, not now that she had been at the peak of the warrior clans and even become a captain to her own platoon of elite troops.

She cold start with the ones that didn't matter...

A small sigh before starting, the young half orc girl relaxed against her bed and looked away a bit embarrassed. "I'm a frontline fighter. Always have been. Not only that, but I specialize in protecting and heavy assault... so I didn't have much to worry about in the battlefield. I'm resilient and can take a heavy beating even from much more massive enemies so I took a lot of damage from swarmfighting and the long range acid from the grenadiers and bombardiers, splash damage from the firebugs... Nothing that won't heal fast of course..."

He raised an eyebrow. "And people tell me I'm reckless. Sounds like you had a rough time of it. I was in a Nightmare for most of the fight, but I saw what the Ohm were doing to some of the defense lines down there."

Pretty much steamrolling over them, in fact.

"I'd say we were pretty lucky to get away with only one loss. And there's the new Ohm types, too..."

[identity profile] ronnae.livejournal.com 2011-08-29 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Those new Ohm types.... Just remembering them made her anger flare slightly, giving her body that distinct reddish rage aura that took over her in combat before dissipating once more. She sighed, but was surprised that we only had one loss... This was an amazing victory then!

"Y-yeah... I jus'... it's what I'm used to... I... I would have been more than fine if I hadn't gotten careless at the end..."

[identity profile] zouichi.livejournal.com 2011-08-30 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
Zouichi blinked at the sudden appearance of the aura. "It happens to everyone. The important thing is that you made it out alive, isn't it? I'm sure you won't hear your friends complaining when they see you're all right."

He didn't like seeing people blaming themselves like that, though he'd be the first to admit he did it himself.

[identity profile] ronnae.livejournal.com 2011-08-30 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
"I... I g-guess you're right.... I jus'..." She sighed. "Thanks... Are your friends well?" She asked, not wanting to seem rude. He had mentioned that only one person died, and by her world's standards, that was monumental. But that didn't mean that the rest of the crew didn't get severely injured, even enough to be taken off the line of duty.

He smiled a little. "So far, yes. Everyone came out of this remarkably well. I think the worst I've seen so far is a sprain or two."

Then he stood, brushing himself off. "And speaking of which, I should probably stop bothering you and get back to visiting with them. It was nice speaking with you again, though."

[identity profile] ronnae.livejournal.com 2011-08-30 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
She nodded her head, a smiled clearly on her face even with the bandages. "Thank you for visiting... It meant a lot. See you around." she waved before settling back on her bad and turning to look at the dripping iv.
