Holes and Patches [OPEN FREE FOR ALL]
After the battle, the warriors' task was over. Their job, for now, was to rest and recover for the time being.
The healers' job, on the other hand, was far from over. Some exhausted from the battle, others rotating in, they took to their bay and continued the process of treating the wounded. Some patients were free to leave in a few minutes, while others would have some time (or quite some time) on the cots. Their mission: relax. Stay as still as possible.
Unfortunately, the temptation of so many familiar faces alive and about would ultimately prove to be too great. Keeping track of this group was going to be a third task all its own.
[this is a free for all for all your injured! Have them socialize, be thorns in the medics' side, try to escape, or bring the medics together for some action. Just note in your post if you'd like a medic to visit your character---if not, it's time for a chat!]

"It's lighter armour," he points out. "Good for speed, but not quite as good as preventing ye from taking the odd blow here or there." He grimaces a little, reaching a hand around to rub at the small of his back. "That ice didn't help matters, I'll admit, but it was better once we were able to get the Zords."
no subject
She listened to his explanations of the armour, arms folded over her chest slightly. "I guess so," she says, with a raised eyebrow. "I can't say much when it comes to giant robots or whatever, though."
no subject
"I can't say as I've had much experience with them myself. Well," he amends, "using them to fight with. I've fought a few in my day, but that's not quite the same thing."
no subject
"And I've got none," she shrugged. "And yeah, that's kind of different. Still counts for something though, I guess."
no subject
Maybe Rachel's from a different time than she is, but they seemed to know each other when everyone was affected by the clock. Or maybe she just doesn't have any interest in robots, which he supposes he could understand. "Or is it ye just don't care for them?"
no subject
"I guess I just don't care that much, yeah," she said, frowning. "So how come you do have robot experience? I don't get that you're from a particularly advanced world. No offence."
no subject
Which doesn't really explain the robot part of things so much, he realizes, but it might help if she gets an idea of when he's from first. Because she might very well think he's completely mad if he doesn't. Well, she might think he's completely mad, anyway.
"I was born in seventeen hundred and twenty nine. That would be Earth years, mind ye."
no subject
The year, however, was a bit surprising. Rachel raises one eyebrow at that, showing her incredulity a bit, before she says, "So way long ago then."
no subject
Rather a lot, to say the least. He doesn't flat out say the TARDIS is a time machine, but Rachel's a clever lass. He thinks she'll be able to figure it out.
no subject
"Huh." Rachel replied, a kind of thoughtful noise as she figured it out in her head. Then she smiled an almost playful sort of smile. "Okay, so maybe that's kind of cool." That explained how he could be from that year but not be totally out of his element here. And, you know, have experience fighting robots and things like that. Cool.
no subject
He unconsciously taps a finger on his opposite hand, lips pursing thoughtfully. "Well, more or less, anyway. I'm not sure it works exactly the same with her. But at any rate, it's not something ye can just talk about and have people believe ye."
no subject
She kind of half smiles at that, "Dimensions, time. Whatever." With a shrug, she adds, "I guess it still seems kind of out there for most people, though."
no subject
It does, a little, and he lets out a small sigh of relief before turning back to Rachel. "As I was saying, aye. It was worse, though, back before I woke up here. Half the time I'd only have to mention the word 'TARDIS' and the Doctor would be elbowing me to get me to shut up about it."

Luckily, he chooses not to show her the large and painful-looking bruise in that general area, but from the way he gingerly places a hand on the small of his back for moment, it's fairly evident something is bothering him around there.
"You're lucky you'd not gotten as badly hu...hey, ye don't really look hurt at all, come to think of it. Did someone tend to ye already?"
no subject
Then she shrugs again at that. "Uh, not exactly. I've got my own ways of dealing with it."
Besides an uncanny ability to be perfect at all times.no subject
Injured he may be, but he can't help but try and pick on her just a little. She's a friend, and he has to do that once in awhile. It also may help her think he's not so injured, which could be a good thing. He saw that narrowing of her eyes.
"Aye, well," he says, more seriously. "I suppose as things go, we're not so badly off. It could have been a lot worse."
no subject
Then she nods. "Yeah. Could have been worse." She frowns, taking a sidelong glance toward some others. She could see some worse injuries from there. "I guess your armour did a good enough job, and morphing took care of me."
no subject
That last thing she says catches his attention, however, and he turns away from watching the other patients and gives her a curious look. "Ye call it morphing as well?"
no subject
((ooc: let me know if that's not okay dfgdfgd))

For all that talk in the past about the sacred threads and people's stories getting spread through the multiverse, it doesn't really occur to him that Rachel might be thinking of the tv show when she mentioned it. Pop culture references tend to go over his head most times, for obvious reasons. He just assumes that she knows somehow about Billy being the Blue Ranger from being on the ship.
"They're not quite like the one he's got, though," he adds thoughtfully. "The plans were a bit different."
(( OOC: it's perfectly fine! Jamie just...doesn't get it, lol. ))
no subject
"Fair enough," she says finally, shrugging it off. "But what works works, right?"
no subject
"I've got to go. I'll see ye later, aye?"
no subject
"Right," she says, shrugging, before she straightens up, and turns to leave with a wave over her shoulder. "See you, then."
