Holes and Patches [OPEN FREE FOR ALL]

After the battle, the warriors' task was over. Their job, for now, was to rest and recover for the time being.

The healers' job, on the other hand, was far from over. Some exhausted from the battle, others rotating in, they took to their bay and continued the process of treating the wounded. Some patients were free to leave in a few minutes, while others would have some time (or quite some time) on the cots. Their mission: relax. Stay as still as possible.

Unfortunately, the temptation of so many familiar faces alive and about would ultimately prove to be too great. Keeping track of this group was going to be a third task all its own.

[this is a free for all for all your injured! Have them socialize, be thorns in the medics' side, try to escape, or bring the medics together for some action. Just note in your post if you'd like a medic to visit your character---if not, it's time for a chat!]

Red Robin | Open

Idling in the medbay was, more or less, the last thing that Tim wanted to do-- but while he'd rather be spending time to himself or working, he had to play it smart. It shouldn't have been anything serious, but he was hurting, and it was better to make sure that it wasn't a cause for concern than to risk infection or internal damages. He had a lot weighing on his mind, and he wanted out of there, to get to repairing his uniform and resupplying. But it was necessary.

Red Robin sat to the side, out of the way, cape and cowl covering him pretty thoroughly. He's still, not showing that there's pain in his chest and in his arm and shoulder, but it's obvious that he's been scraped up-- his cape and mask are both torn in spots, holes in the protective covering. A tear reveals more of the side of his face, bloody bruises along with it. For all intents and purposes, though, he got off lucky. And as much as he's eager to get out of there, he's not going to distract the staff, either, from their more important work. Besides, he did have a preference over treatment-- it was just harder to be picky about it in this situation.

((ooc: some of his files are locked due to privacy, but he can do general care from anyone. And, of course, any and all chitchat is welcome! (8 ))

Man, it really seemed that not a lot of people wanted to be cooped up here. Hoshi was secretly glad for that, at any rate. She didn't like being stuck here more than she needed to be, but here she was and most, if not all, of her protesting was done and over with.

She did notice someone out of the corner of her eye and so, she sat up a bit and gave Tim a small smile, encouraging him to come closer to where she was right now.

"You holding up all right there?"
battorch: ([red robin] explanation)

[personal profile] battorch 2011-08-30 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Tim wasn't surprised-- he was well aware of where people's attentions fell, generally-- but he was curious, at least. He met her gaze through the cowl, his pose relaxing a bit, but he didn't come much closer. He nodded, though, and then said, keeping his grim and gritty voice despite the situation, "I'm fine." He gave her a quiet once over, before he asked, "And yourself? You look like you came out of this without too much bad luck."

"I'm doing okay myself," Hoshi replied with a small smile. She noticed that he wasn't going to come closer, so she dropped the subject for now. "Just had a small fracture, but it's really nothing to worry about."

[personal profile] battorch 2011-08-31 06:55 am (UTC)(link)
"Good to hear," Tim replied, with a nod, and allowed himself a slightly friendlier tone-- just slightly, but to make up for the continued distance. "Nothing too serious." He shook his head then said, "Hopefully most people shared that luck."

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-09-02 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
"I hope so too," Hoshi replied. While Lash got off worse than she did, she hoped that she would be all right and able to recover quickly. "But, that is good that nothing too bad happened to you."

She paused for a brief moment and smiled. "I'm Hoshi, nice to meet you. I wish the circumstances were better, though."
battorch: ([red robin] a little smug)

[personal profile] battorch 2011-09-03 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
Tim nodded to that. "I'll recover fine, anyway." And he'd had much worse, at that. He was more concerned about other results of the battle.

"Red Robin. I believe I've seen you around Engineering," he said, and he nearly smiled. "I'm not entirely sure that there are good circumstances on this ship."

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 11:49 am (UTC)(link)
Hoshi nodded back, grinning just a bit. "I'm glad for that," she said. Like him, though, she was used to much worse treatment from beybattles and other things and was also worried about how her friends fared after such a fight.

"A pleasure to meet you, Red Robin! I think I've seen you around, too!" Then, at his comment, she chuckled. "I believe you can make them happen if you just try hard enough."
battorch: ([red robin] a little smug)

[personal profile] battorch 2011-09-03 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"Likewise," Tim said. Then he managed a quiet, half laugh at her more optimistic statement, and nodded. "I suppose you can," he said. "Some of us are better at it than others, though." Himself, with mostly focusing on work? We was in the latter category.

"You're looking a little under the weather. Maybe you should get a sturdier costume." Clearly self-healing biological armor was the way to go

"So what happened?"

"What can I say, I'm fond of the cowl." It was a partial joke, but, fortunately, Stacy's supplies had also done a number to keep him from getting too damaged. "I've had worse, anyway."

"The Ohm being several sizes too large happened," he said flatly. "Not to mention the saboteurs. Still, what I sustained seems to have been relatively minor."

"I'm surprised at you," Zouichi said, pulling up a nearby chair. "Too large? That sounds suspiciously like complaining. But I guess it would be a little more difficult to tie up a giant bug. Do you need anything?"
battorch: ([red robin] a little smug)

[personal profile] battorch 2011-08-31 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
Red Robin almost laughed, and the slightest smirk formed. "I'd never complain," he said, voice deadpan. "I can't say ties are terribly effective on them, no." He shook his head at that, though, "No. I'm in decent shape. I'll be getting out of here soon, presumably." He watched Zouichi for a moment, before he said, "I take it you're doing well, then."
ext_988045: (Zouichi: um.)

[identity profile] zouichi.livejournal.com 2011-08-31 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Zouichi shrugged. "I didn't take a lot of damage during the battle." By which he meant he had not been bleeding from multiple stab wounds, and no one had even punched him through any brick. Even if they had, though, he'd be well on his way to healing by now.

"I'd say the Ohm got the worse end of that deal. I'm making the rounds visiting the helpless invalids."
battorch: ([red robin] ...)

[personal profile] battorch 2011-08-31 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Good to hear it," Tim said with a nod. The less damage any individual member of the crew took the better. All things considered, especially. Not that Zouichi even looked like he was in bad shape, but that was beside the point.

Another near laugh from Tim, before he commented, "You're in the wrong place, then. I'm a bit far removed from 'invalid' right now."

"Oh, well, I guess I'll have to cancel the cake and cookies, then. And the balloons."

"I did run into one of the new Ohm types, though. Interesting how quickly they adapted to the capabilities of the spacecraft from the last battle."
battorch: ([red robin] thinkthink)

[personal profile] battorch 2011-08-31 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"Balloons are too colourful," Tim said. "They would cramp my style. Shame about the cookies, though." He doesn't mind joking a little bit with Zouichi. Tim's not big about it with people he doesn't know well-- but it's cathartic, too.

Growing more serious, he nodded. "A sign of adaptability and intelligence," he commented. "Not to mention more going on in the background." Then, he shook his head, "And the appearance of these 'Catastrophists' is troubling."

Re: Red Robin | Open

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2011-08-30 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Billy recognized the mask pattern from the past talks with Engineering's mysterious helper. Red Robin, the one who toiled at keeping his identity hidden from the crew---effectively the opposite of Billy. Part of him wondered how straining it was to maintain that under these conditions. It was definitely a familiar struggle.

As wounded as anyone else there, Billy slowly made his way to stand nearby for a short visit. He had his rounds to make.

"How's it all holding together?"
battorch: ([red robin] listening)

[personal profile] battorch 2011-08-30 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Tim met Billy's gaze from behind the cowl lenses. He was familiar with the man, of course, even if they weren't familiar. He'd only really spoken to him when it related to work, and thus this was different. Still, he wasn't opposed.

"Fine. I was relatively lucky," he said, still with the slight gravel to his voice. "Nothing too serious on your own end either, I'd hope."
morphitudinous: (...what in the name of)

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2011-08-30 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
"No, just a few explosions. Another pile of work waiting for me as soon as I'm cleared, on top of what everyone else had damaged. I can't wait."

Billy pressed his palm into his forehead, the catastrophe clearly playing out in his mind. "That was up in the air, though. I heard there was more trouble on the ground?"
battorch: ([red robin] thinkthink)

[personal profile] battorch 2011-08-31 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course," Tim agreed, frowning at that. The work load to recover from this was doubtlessly going to be huge for everyone-- Tim had a lot of things he wanted to do himself, of course. "I'll of course be helping however I can."

He frowned at Billy's question, for a moment, but his voice was largely flat when he answered, "Of course. An Ohm general, and quite a large force to go with it, for one." He paused, then said, "A lot of trouble in general. There should be a proper report soon."
morphitudinous: (:()

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2011-08-31 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"Don't hurry with those," Billy waved his hand, already considering the massive load before him. "I'm sure I have a massive load of it to process already, I really don't need it all right away. I know some of it, and that's enough."

Right, the general. "We were fighting one too. One of my friends is even more injured."

He grumbled. "I thought we'd made a dent in the ground forces before we went up. No such luck."
battorch: ([red robin] explanation)

[personal profile] battorch 2011-09-01 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
"Hn." Tim shook his head. "My own injuries are fairly minor. I can get back to work quickly." Frankly, he wanted to. "I imagine you could use some help, anyway, considering the amount there's going to be to do."

Tim frowned, but didn't say anything right away. The fights on the ground had ended in more than just injuries. But he had no desire to get into that. "Everyone did what they could," he said instead, just a hint of warmth in the tone.
morphitudinous: (:()

[personal profile] morphitudinous 2011-09-02 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"I know, I can see that," Billy whispered, looking around the medbay. "I won't ask for more than what everyone can give. I'm just glad they're still with us."

The darkness hanging over his head, of the one that he knew was not, still lingered. "We won't start until after the funeral. Some downtime to process it is needed."
battorch: ([red robin] shadow in broad daylight)

[personal profile] battorch 2011-09-03 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
Tim fell silent again for a moment, frowning to himself. After what had happened, with him and with Superman-- he understood Billy's sympathies to everyone. Tim just had his own way of dealing with it.

"Of course," Tim agreed, voice a small amount quieter. "I have my own things to work on anyway, until then."
