Lirath - Ship Survival

As the battle raged outside, those remaining aboard Stacy had their hands full preparing for the incoming flood of refugees.

Positioned near the Bleed-Gate orbiting Lirath, Stacy stood ready to receive the refugees. Ship after ship ascended as quickly as they could, some of them making a break for the Bleed-Gate itself while the smaller ships were forced to dock at Stacy, unloading their cargo of refugees before setting off again for the planet's surface again to take on more passengers.

Several small units of GIA soldiers were also sent up to help the Transmigration crew take in the massive amount of refugees, many of whom were tired, wounded, and scared. It wouldn't take long for the ship to begin filling with people.

With the battle raging outside, and the Ohm clambering outside, trying to get in, it would be a tall order to keep all of the refugees safe and calm, but the crew didn't have much choice.

"That's right. Without a open gate, Tailmon and Agumon are pretty nerfed," replied Taichi. "This will probably cut our effectiveness in half."

"Are you yankin' me?" Punchy outright double-takes when Angie walks in, and his jaw drops fast enough to make a little click sound. Then he straightens up (including putting his jaw back in the correct place with his hand) and puts on his Serious Business Face.

Punchy does not have a very good Serious Business Face.

He listens intently as the AI's describe the process they'll have to go through. He's still not sure what all the animals are doing here - won't hooves and paws make it hard to be familiar with computers? - but a teammate is a teammate. "So we'll be ballin' with the binary. That's dope."

He flicks his goggles on, more out of habit than because he'll need them, and submits to the datacloning. When he arrives in the white room, he looks out at the data set. "We gotta waste these little red and blue monsters or are they our mooks?"

She did not like this at all. Even a human-looking AI was still an AI. Hearing about being plugged into Stacy's datastream and getting cloned, and a whole host of other things she didn't understand set her on edge.

When Chell thought about it, though (in the brief moments they were given to think about it), she realized that this was nothing Aperture hadn't potentially done to her already. Maybe having an existing "dataclone" (whatever that was) could be used to her advantage later...she'd just have to figure out how.

So despite the fact that everything about this seemed like a bad idea, she surrendered to the procedure and awoke in the white room, not feeling any different. What was different, however, was the window (and the other side of it), and she crossed the room to put her hands against the pane and stare wide-eyed at the sight outside.

It was serious, but so was everything else Tenaya had been through.

"Let's do this," she agreed.

For all it was weird getting covered by tentacles, the process of plugging in was very easy. She didn't expect the programming to actually look like its own world, as opposed to the code she was used to streaming, but she only raised an eyebrow at the monsters.

"Not as bad as Venjix, at least," she decided. At least, that was what she hoped.

Angie let her armor drop, enough to bare her face and arms. "Still have our powers?" Don't mind her being skeptical. Her powers are technologically based, so them following her into the data stream seemed pretty unlikely.

Not that that stopped her from taking her place on one of the chairs, settling back and letting herself be covered.

The white room was a bit of a surprise, making Angie take a moment and look around. "Right. This is a pretty interesting representation." And out the window was more interesting stuff. She looked over it. "I think those are friendlies out there." A pause. "Maybe."

"We don't have time to wait," Tailmon said. "We'll just have to take our chances then!"

Hikari blinked, looking down at Tailmon. "Well... if you're sure..."

The two of them started moving over to the chairs, getting ready for them to do what they needed to do.
