Lirath - Ship Survival

As the battle raged outside, those remaining aboard Stacy had their hands full preparing for the incoming flood of refugees.

Positioned near the Bleed-Gate orbiting Lirath, Stacy stood ready to receive the refugees. Ship after ship ascended as quickly as they could, some of them making a break for the Bleed-Gate itself while the smaller ships were forced to dock at Stacy, unloading their cargo of refugees before setting off again for the planet's surface again to take on more passengers.

Several small units of GIA soldiers were also sent up to help the Transmigration crew take in the massive amount of refugees, many of whom were tired, wounded, and scared. It wouldn't take long for the ship to begin filling with people.

With the battle raging outside, and the Ohm clambering outside, trying to get in, it would be a tall order to keep all of the refugees safe and calm, but the crew didn't have much choice.

Sandy continued her work while moving on the balls of her feet. Her leg muscles were tight and ready to spring into action if Kaya needed it.

This fact surprised Sandy...since when had she become the kind of girl who would run towards danger?

Kaya's reassurances don't seem to be doing much good, but Stacy has her own way of dealing with people who are too upset to listen to reason. The female soldier stops thrashing after Stacy jabs her with a sedative, but she keeps making strange little cries, like a lost kitten. But at least she's not disturbing the other patients.

The male soldier Sandy's working on makes a rusty sort of noise -- it's not speech, the translation matrix doesn't put any words to it, but it's not a sob or a laugh or anything readily identifiable either. He focuses on Sandy and sadly shakes his head. "You're a little young for all this, ain't ya?"

Kaya did her best to make the soldier comfortable, and walked over to her own table, wiping her brow a moment and going through the satchel she was given earlier by Nokosi. She rummaged through it until she found the thermos of tea, pouring herself and Sandy two cups. If what she read (and she was not one for doubting Nokosi) was true, it would help them both with their nerves.

She passed Sandy's cup over to her and took a drink from her own, then continued to work on the next patient, keeping an eye on Sandy as well.

Sandy continued her work smiling sheepishly at the soldier, "Everyone's gotta pull their weight." She said with a shrug. "And I've done enough running away."

Kaya's next patient keeps fading in and out of consciousness, it's hard to tell if from blood-loss or from a severe knock to the head. He blinks muzzily up at her and says something about his mother.

The one Sandy's working on is still shaking his head, almost like he's forgotten he's started. "Got a kid sister your age. Hope she doesn't think she's done enough running yet."

Kaya is started on him already: her hands are already testing out the bump on his head, seeing how severe it was, while she was already gently reassuring him. It was hard to watch him, asking about his mother like this while he was already muttering about his mother. She had promised herself to do this in small doses, but her hands was on her Pactio card, muttering Adeat and then, clad in white, pressing the cold chalice to her fingers and then allowing the liquid on her fingers to fall onto his head and heal his wounds more extensively.

"Try to rest up." Sandy encouraged, "We've got some of the best med tech around so you're safe here." That sounded pretty mature! She was proud of herself. Even if technically she had no idea what she said was true.
