Lirath - Ship Survival

As the battle raged outside, those remaining aboard Stacy had their hands full preparing for the incoming flood of refugees.

Positioned near the Bleed-Gate orbiting Lirath, Stacy stood ready to receive the refugees. Ship after ship ascended as quickly as they could, some of them making a break for the Bleed-Gate itself while the smaller ships were forced to dock at Stacy, unloading their cargo of refugees before setting off again for the planet's surface again to take on more passengers.

Several small units of GIA soldiers were also sent up to help the Transmigration crew take in the massive amount of refugees, many of whom were tired, wounded, and scared. It wouldn't take long for the ship to begin filling with people.

With the battle raging outside, and the Ohm clambering outside, trying to get in, it would be a tall order to keep all of the refugees safe and calm, but the crew didn't have much choice.

"In that case, you ought to be out in the field there," Kaya said, glad Nokosi saw the sense it made to be there, rather than here. "As for the people who come in, I'll tell them Fontaine is here to help. In their current state, I can't see them making too huge of a fuss: they barely have enough energy to protest."

Kaya took the satchel, and then reached over and kissed him fiercely before letting him go.
"You have no idea how much I needed to see you right now. I was scared something might have happened to you, and here you are thinking of me. If we get through all of this, I'll make sure to make the most of the time we have together."

Her kiss caused him to blink rapidly in surprise. Both because he wasn't expecting it and the intensity of it still lingered on his lips.

"I..." He shook his head quickly to clear his mind, lengthy ears wobbling and trinkets chiming as he did. "I am fine. I do not think you need to speak as if there might not be a tomorrow, though. Things are hectic and uncertain, yes, but I believe that we will be fine." 'Fine' was relative to how many of their own casualties they had, really.

"Some of the things I brought you might help in your current condition," he said, smoothing a thumb over her earlobe. "Do make sure that you make use of it, yes?"

At a time like this, Kaya could do nothing but feel her feelings intensely: as it stood, not running and screaming from all of the things she'd seen took every ounce of courage she had. So with Nokosi, she could at least afford to let him see who grateful she was he was here.

As for things being fine, she left his at his words. She had to believe he wold come back, that they would be ok. If he believed that, she knew she could. She took a sharp breath, but nodded.

"Of course," she said, flinching a little at the touch: it was so tender a touch it took her by surprise. "Look out for Ronnae then. I'll do what I can here, if either of yoou two get too injured."

By her strained expression and jittery manner, he could tell that she already needed some rest and probably a nice, long nap where she could block out everything; even more-so if she were to lose someone. Again. The elf sighed internally. He would have to keep an eye on all of her friends. Which were...everyone on the ship.

Okay, challenge accepted! He could do that. Maybe.

"We will come to see you first when everything is done and over with." Sure, by the way things sounded he expected that to be several days, if not weeks from now. "Tonight," he corrected. "When night falls, I will be back to look in on you."

"Right," Kaya said, guessing what he might be thinking. She was so weary she could not begin to tell Nokosi how grateful she'd been to see him right now. She just took his hands a moment, then kissed them to her lips tenderly.

"Take your time," she said, an utterance she only half wished for. "I will be here, sleeping if need be, ok?"

He laughed and shook his head once. "Do not worry yourself so much or you will make mistakes, you know. It cannot be the end of the world because that has already happened, so take a breath, relax and do what you're good at," he urged.

Nokosi leaned forward and laid a peck on her cheek, then released his hold on her hands. "See you! I will give your regards to Ronnae as well, as she will be worried about you."
