Enchanted Aquatica---the Prom [WIDE OPEN Y'ALL]
The day had finally arrived for her big event, and Starfire couldn't be happier---or more nervous, actually. She was certainly not an expert on the inner workings of a prom, but it couldn't be too terribly complicated, right? As long as the people could eat, dance, and talk, it should be a reasonable success.
With that in mind, her decorations sprung from her mind into the large dome all around her, transforming a grey Sensorium into a beautiful underwater world, one with clear waters and free from the possibility of a shark attack.
The first change was the scent of the air, shifting into the comforting salty scent of the seas. Then the ground beneath her feet became a hardened sandstone, maintaining the gritty texture while remaining easy to walk upon---except for the smooth dance floor, of course. The grey dome transformed into a flowing bluish-green, rippling all around with fish of all colors passing in the background. Some of the 'sky' faded into a violet tone over the dance floor, lit by glowing circular lights in every color. Suspended in midair, they almost looked like motionless fireflies, though they sometimes swayed in tune with songs.
Tables arose from coral in all colors, rising from the ground and twisting to provide a flattened surface on the very top---rounded ones for guests, and long tables off to the side containing shell-bowls of food. Chairs were large floating clam shells with well cushioned interiors, some large enough to hold two people. More comfortable spongy places to sit were also littered across the area, notably by the large shell-shaped enclosure that was the promised swimming pool. It too was lit by the floating lights, providing what she hoped was a romantic atmosphere.
Finally, the glowing stage above the dance floor couldn't help but attract attention with its chairs. Six royal thrones and one plush chair of all colors directly in the middle rested in the back of the stage, leaving the front open for announcements. Just off to the side of the stage stood the DJ's table, with even that machine painted to match the soft underwater glow of the scenery.
Everything finally seemed pleasing to Starfire. With one last change, dressing herself in the formal attire of the prom, she sent out the signal to everyone and waited. She hoped they would have a wonderful time.

"Then we've both learned our lessons," he said simply, imagining that bright future together. "If you want a head start, don't be afraid of trying new things or not trying them. You'll know what's right for you, you don't have to get caught up in conforming to others' expectations."
When that was done, he squeezed her hand excitedly. "I'm not going to ask you for details, that's your business, but I'm glad it's him. The four of us, huh?"
no subject
She giggled. "Yes, I guess so. Who knew?"

Billy glanced around in hopes of seeing her date, but he must have been hiding well. "That'll be a motivation to become better friends, that's for sure. But I'm talking to him soon, all right? I'm supposed to say something intimidating."
She could easily see what he thought of this idea. Billy, intimidating? That would be the day.
no subject
Kaya frowned. "Say something intimidating? Why? It's not like he's my world's version of Azula or anything. Besides, Nokosi isn't the type to hurt someone intentionally. But then, if you're that set on being big brother, who am I to stop you?"
Besides, she figured that Nokosi must have done something like that to Billy when he started dating Ronnae.

Billy ducked his head. "He's the same way about her. He explained in no uncertain terms just what the marriage had meant after it happened, and that we were mated for life. If I'd hurt her..."
He likely wouldn't live to tell the tale.

She nodded. "I heard. Before tonight, it was one of the many things we've talked about, and we talk about a lot. It's one of the things I really like about him: he's very avid about himself, and we can talk forever, really."
Kaya grinned. "That's so like him."
no subject
"You still have so many possibilities in the future. Azeroth's customs are...interesting, to say the least," he winked. "He may know even more than Ronnae about fun things to do."
Blood rushed to his cheeks as he remembered one particular night.
no subject
"Aww, Billy, why are blushing, hmm?"
no subject
He looked a little evasive. "Ask Nokosi if he knows about the Noblegarden holiday. Ronnie decided to celebrate it with me."
no subject
She raised an eyebrow. "I think I'll do that, because now I'm pretty curious, and you won't tell me what that means."
no subject
"He might know something even more fun, though," he winked. "But don't rush, you have time to sort yourselves out."
He did want to talk to Nokosi soon. Where had he and Ronnie disappeared to, anyway? Billy looked around, anxious to see a glimpse of them.

He'd managed to get his one dance from Ronnae, which he was happy enough for. He couldn't say it was much better than the first time they'd danced together, but he cared little for the slow, gliding movements that made up formal Sin'dorei dancing. Still, they managed to make it fun, if a little bit goofy.
It was just about time that he reunited his friend with her lover.
no subject
"So I've heard you're dating my sister?"
no subject
"I...yes? Yes."
Man, did word ever travel fast. In retrospect, it would make all the sense in the world that if he went to find Ronnae, who was alone, Kaya would have wound up meeting with Billy sooner or later. This was sooner.
Whatever bit of disorientation he had faded very quickly and he returned the gesture, reaching out to shake Billy's hand.

...then stepped forward and offered Nokosi a loose hug. "But I don't expect it to be. You've made her almost indescribably happy tonight. And, quite frankly, I'm relieved she's with someone I trust."
no subject
Still, the answer he gave Billy was neither silly nor skeptical (as laughing at the wrong moment might have made it seem).
"I understand. It is your business to chastise me for any missteps I might take, as is it, Ronnae's." Which was fine and well enough. He wasn't even going to pretend like he knew most of the Human customs and relationship-based nuances.
The hug brought a sincere smile to his face, though and he returned the embrace. "I thank you for the confidence you have in me. It is most refreshing and appreciated, Billy."
no subject
As far as his confidence? He just smiled and shook his head. "We should be used to each other. I predict that Kaya and Ronnie will be planning double dates soon enough."
no subject
When he spoke of the double date, the elf clapped his hands together cheerily. "If they do, it sounds like it would be fun!" Though their idea of fun probably differed greatly from his own. "I think I will be awaiting such a time as that, as 'hanging out' together with my friends is something that would most definitely interest me."

She smiled at the group and tilted her head curiously as she tried to catch the last bits of the conversation. Not having paid attention however, she simply shrugged and moved in to enjoy the company of friends.
