Post Mission Party At The Bar

Its time to unwind, relax and receive news of home. A pod pop occurred while some were on a mission and it's time to meet up with new friends, drink well with old, and relax.The Drunken Dragon has opened its doors and stands ready and willing to assist in forgetting the trials those on the mission experienced.

OOC: If you want a specific barmaid, just put their name in the subject. Otherwise, enjoy, intermingle and do as you like.

"Nanaki." Kali's smile was welcoming as she slid briefly free of her father's grasp, crouching so they were at eye level. "I am sorry, I have been dishonest with you, Nanaki, until I could be sure what was happening. My name is Kali and I would like you to meet someone dear to me." Her voice was soft, formal, but she wanted him to find out from her, not from others. "I was looking for my father, and I could not be sure if being taken meant I was to be used to harm him in some way. Please forgive me and come meet my father."

Kang let Kali go and listened as she introduced him, smiling. "So you're Nanaki. She was telling me about you, and exploring Hydroponics together."

He listened, ears twitching and head tilting to the side as she spoke. When she finished, he stayed silent for a moment, thinking about what she said. And then he shook his head. "It's okay," he said. "I've done something like that before, too." It wasn't so much out of a paranoia like that, but because Nanaki didn't figure he'd be traveling with Cloud and the others beyond his first return home from the Shinra laboratories. And he had been somewhat soured by humans at that point, so told them to call him whatever they wished.

"So Kang is not your uncle, but your father," he repeated when she told him. Though Nanaki would never actually get to meet his own father, his love and pride for him might have been something like what Kali was feeling at the moment to see him again. Parents were important, and Kali's actions to protect both herself and him spoke volumes about how much so.

He turned to Kang, giving him a small nod and a smile. "That's right. I found her when we woke up in those pods down below. And Alastirra said Hydroponics were a nice place. You're a councilor here, is that right?"

"Really?" She looked curious, head tipping to the side. "Yes. Everything else I told you was true....just, about someone else. My cousin, to be specific."

Her body language with Nanaki was quiet open, wings relaxed, tail full of lazy and careless movement, and it was obvious that she had allowed herself to become quite fond of the cat-like creature, even in such short a time. She returned to her father, leaning against his knee rather than hiding against him.

"I am. There's no need to use my title when I'm not on duty, though," Kang said, relaxing and trusting in Kali's judgment. "I've never been all that stuffy and proper."

"I did not believe I'd be with my friends for very long. And I did not consider them friends when I first met them, so I told them to just use the codename given to me by somebody else until I returned home."

He nodded up at Kang after that. "Alright. Kang, then. It sounds like you've been awake for a time, from what it sounds like."

"Ah, that makes it hard." She nodded. "I felt much the same, the potential for this being a trap was so high, I did not feel I could completely trust anyone at all."

She smiled up at her father, a tiny little pleased noise. He was respected on the ship, but that was only right. Her father was wise and clever, there was little to be gained in disregarding those talents.

Kang nodded, "Seven or eight months, best I can tell. It's hard to keep track of time here."

"I'm glad you don't feel that way anymore," he said with a smile. It was never a good thing to stay distrusting for long, unless of course it was necessary to.

"Hmm. That's a long time ... I wonder how long this journey will last."

She startled a bit, looking back at her father. That was a long time, a very long time. Away from mother and from home. She made a tiny unhappy noise, resting her fingers on his wrist.

"My father is here." As though that should answer everything, as though losing distrust was as easy as the presence of her beloved parent. She smiled back, relaxed enough that she did not bother to make it entirely closed mouth, as she might with a human. "Did you locate anyone from your world, Nanaki?"

Kang simply patted Kali's hand, smiling down at her. It was a long time, but he wasn't the only one that had been waiting. Some had waited longer than him, or were still waiting.

He shook his head. "No. If they were here, I would have been able to track them down by now. Perhaps they're still sleeping."

He said, though he thought more I hope they're down there, sleeping and soon to wake.
