Post Mission Party At The Bar
Its time to unwind, relax and receive news of home. A pod pop occurred while some were on a mission and it's time to meet up with new friends, drink well with old, and relax. The Drunken Dragon has opened its doors and stands ready and willing to assist in forgetting the trials those on the mission experienced.
OOC: If you want a specific barmaid, just put their name in the subject. Otherwise, enjoy, intermingle and do as you like.

Matt was gone, and as hurtful as that was, she still had tons to do, and could at least make sure everyone on the bus was looked after, as he would have done.
So anyone approaching would see Kaya reading and writing things down in her newly obtained nursing packet, looking busy.

The longing for the bustling, loud and generally cheery mood was why he found himself here, today. He hadn't planned to really drink much, lest he find himself in a string of awkward situations, but the atmosphere was what he was looking for, anyways.
Taking a quick glance around the homey bar, he spotted the back of a head that he recognized. Kaya looked fairly busy--not that that deterred him one bit.
Nokosi took long, languid strides to the table she occupied and sat himself down in a nearby seat but didn't utter a word. Instead, he leaned over to view what it was she was reading.

"Oh, Nokosi, hi!" Kaya said, brightening immediately. "I meant to find you! How have you been?"
no subject
After a small stretch of silence, he finally looked towards Kaya, his smile mirroring her own.
"I have been as well as could be expected at this current point in time. I would say the same for Fontaine, since he is not here." Fontaine did like bars just as much as he, but for an entirely different reason. Barmaids and free scraps of food.
"And you? Busy as usual, I see."
no subject
"I've been ok, as much as I can be while I'm busy with nursing. Hey, I meant to ask you a question: have you heard of that Prom that we're having soon? It's apparently this dance people have when they're old enough in school."
She smiled. "Would you like to come with me?"
no subject
"But of course I will go with you, though I must admit that I do not know what to expect. Perhaps I should speak with you and Ronnae about what is 'common' in such situations and events."
no subject
She leave off the part about expectation of fornication later: Nokosi didn't need to know that.
"It doesn't seem too terribly hard, from what I've learned. You bring your date some sort of wreath of flowers to wear on her hand, you arrive, you mingle, then you dance! I can definitely show you the finer points of dancing if you're lacking: its become something of a specialty for me."
no subject
Nokosi rose his gaze back to her face gave a sharp nod. "Flowers...then mingling and dancing," he repeated, as if going over a list in his mind. "Yes, I think I can do that. What is your favorite color, so that I may know which ones I should collect?"
no subject
She grinned. "Yup! Sounds fun, doesn't it? And really Nokosi, I thought you would have figured it out by now! My favorite color is blue!"
no subject
After he'd surveyed every small nook and any off-centered objects that he cared to view, his eyes finally settled back on her. A smile rose to his at her words and he placed his long arms on the sturdy table and folded one over the other.
"Now that you say that, it does make the most sense. I would have guessed it was white, though."
no subject
She quirked an eyebrow. His smile was definitely worth looking at, but she was definitely curious about his answer. "White? Why that color?"
no subject
He shrugged one shoulder but still went on to explain. "You spoke of your home in the north, and though you are a water bender, I imagine that most of the scenery were wide expanses of ivory, towering, jagged icebergs and crystal-like glaciers. Not only is it a memory of a home that conjures up warm feelings, despite the very cold weather, you also mentioned that you are very fond of snow."
Nokosi rested his head against his folded arms, his hair coiling on the table beside him. "Besides that, you also have an affinity for the moon and not just because it increases your abilities. For these reasons, I would have guessed white."
no subject
She listened, thinking. "Well yes when you put it that way, I guess that it makes sense. Still, even though I'm surrounded by white, it was really blue that would catch my eye. It always seemed to catch my eye a bit more than the white, since it was always the most dominant color. Besides, I think of white as being an airbender color because of the clouds. But yes, the Northern Water Tribe does have its share of white everywhere."
The moon white? She always thought of it more gray, really.

He was still wary about 'letting loose', especially with what was now on his mind.

She looked at his data pad. "What brings you here?"

Billy looked around at the gathered crowd, smiling at familiar and new faces. It was good to see everyone recovering somewhat. "I wanted to see for myself that everyone was all right after what had happened. It'll likely be the last big gathering before prom," he noted, making a face. That was definitely bound to be an interesting night.
no subject
She nodded. "I know what you mean. I want to check that one of my friends Howard is still ok. This sort of stuff usually bothers him a lot. And yes, I definitely heard about the prom, I nominated you and Ronnae! For some reason though, Overlord was kinda angry I nominated him as jester."
no subject
"That's what I'm a little concerned about," he admitted. "You'll make a great princess if you win, Kaya, but I'm not exactly prom king material."
no subject
"Me!" Kaya laughed. "Are you kidding? I was the one giving you all this relationship advice, and look at us now! You have a loving, caring woman you live with, and you treat her exactly how any woman would dream to be treated! Look at all the relationships on this ship, and how long they've lasted. You and Ronnae are special, and you should be recognized for that!"
no subject
He looked a little sheepish during her explanation, knowing there was some truth there. She was sweet, and it was great, yes, but...
"Me? Kaya, I don't think you understand that I'd never be prom king at home. That would be Tommy and Kimberly, the quintessential perfect couple."
That would explain why Billy felt strange about this. On Earth, it had been all about Tommy and Kimberly, but here...no Tommy. No perfect pair sweeping the nominations, and now he was potentially in this position. How did Kim feel, he wondered.
no subject
"What does that mean, 'perfect couple?' I think you come as close as a good couple can be, but I don't know how anyone would qualify as a perfect one. But I do see that I've seen the two of you grow, being caring and wonderful with each other. That's as sloe to perfect as I think you can get, if you had to give it a name."
no subject
Billy then became aware that Kimberly might prefer that she share this information herself someday, so he veered away from that track. "Ronnie and I...well, yes, we're delighted with each other. I'm proud of us, and I still can't believe I gained some of my happiness back. But I guess I never thought others were paying attention."
He liked his privacy, he really did, but he'd been slacking off in that department.
no subject
She nodded. "Of course they were! Like I said, there are precious few couples on the ship, and the only one I think that would have come close to beating the two of you is Nanoha and Fate. That would have been no contest: there's no denying the way those two feel about each other. I DO think that you two are getting there though, and in time, might even have an official marriage on the ship."
